Common Questions and Answers about Is astelin still available

astelin

Avatar f tn ve been seeing an allergist because my allergies have really bothered me this year. He prescribed a medicine that is a nasal spray called Astelin. I hope I don't seem 'weird' asking his but have any of you been on one of these type of nasal sprays while having Hep C? If so, did you feel worse using the spray? I've been on it two days and it's making the area of my liver hurt and also in between my shoulder blades.
Avatar f tn m on Zyrtec, Singulair, Benadryl, Advair, Flonase, Astelin, Mucinex and STILL have drainage and chest/nasal congestion. Feeling rundown and tired and want to get over this. This is the second time I've been through somethine like this in 2011. Any advice would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn If not, maybe that would be another option - have the scratch tests and see if it is an allergy. Claritin/Astelin not for all allerigies...
Avatar f tn Hi everyone Several months ago I experienced a very traumatic event in my life that I am still dealing with today. This event has reactivated my old (once dormant) anxiety, fears, phobias and obsessions to the point where I have just become a basket case. I have trembling, tight throat with frequent swallowing, raging anxiety, a constant state of stress, a floaty feeling in my head sometimes...you name it!.
Avatar n tn A quick trip to the doctor and I was told that I had some kind of nasty allergic reaction which clogged my sinuses, gave me a post nasal drip which in turn caused the sore throat and asthma to act up. She prescribed Astelin, a nasal spray antihistamine and described the allergic reaction as a sort of systemic thing and that the astelin should clear it all up. That was Wednesday. I've been using it as told since then and I've only really noticed a very very slight improvement.
Avatar f tn I've been having issues with my ears and my sinuses. This has been bothering me since April. In May, I went to the doctor - he said I had a ton of fluid behind my ears and he thought it was being caused by a sinus infection. He prescribed antibiotics (Z-Pak) and Nasonex. At the time I was having some congestion, ear pain/ache at random times and when I would chew/open my mouth.
Avatar n tn I am now on sleep medication, clonazepam, Lunesta, now but which is barely working, Atavan is better and I can sleep but sedatives cannot be taken forever and this PND doesn't seem to be going away.
Avatar n tn Ah-Chew worked so well except it put you to sleep, but it worked. It is no longer available because of financial problems of keeping it available, I guess not enough advertising? THE GOOD: ALLERX.. Allerx works GREAT. A must try, made by Cornerstone Biopharma inc. The regular form worked for me. Have your doctor's assistant call them for sample of each to see if they help you. Believe me I tried all the prescription drugs available for allergy, They don't work.
Avatar n tn It is now accepted that a considerable portion of headache or migraine patients have rhinogenic symptoms. This so called “neurogenic rhinitis” remains poorly understood but probably represents parasympathetic activation. This prominence of nasal symptoms in these patients often leads to a misdiagnosis of sinus disease in patients who meet the diagnostic criteria for migraine.

Avatar f tn I have looked into churg strauss syndrome. Do you think this could be what is going on? Still going through testing, but I would just like to get some other fresh perspectives.
Avatar n tn nose blocks all the time over a year now and getting worse! i have been prescribed all this **** and none of it seems to work. all i have is my nose that gets blocked so often that i have to breathe with mouth and also have a permanent sore throat. currently in indiana. If someone can give me professional advice or recommend a specialist it would be appreciated!!! As i think my condition keeps getting worse. also i smoke but the doctor tell me it has no relation to my allergies!
Avatar n tn 5mg prn ( about once a week , which does help but makes me tired) and chochizine one daily, Flonase and Astelin for seasonal allergies/ sinus but still continue with chest heaviness, light headedness, neck aches and what seems to be feelings of anxiety . So, here are my questions, have you seen such a collection of symptoms after meningitis? Do you think that what I am experiencing is even related to having meningitis?
Avatar n tn The exhalation should be twice as long as the inhalation, so that pressure is experienced in the windpipe, and chest and trapped air is forced out. Another technique is Breath Holding and Coughing. Inhale deeply and slowly, holding the breath for five to 10 seconds. Then the patient coughs on exhalation. You can read more breathing exercises through this link: http://cas.umkc.edu/casww/brethexr.htm Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Sounds like an eustachian tube issue. Have you seen an ENT Specialist at all?
Avatar n tn I only have one movement first thing in the morning and that is it. I then fill with gas all day and it is not free to come out. FRUSTRATING- there is enough pressure now built up that my urine stream is rarely free and full. Feels like trap doors shut and won't allow bowels and gas to release. I did have some form of Colitis 35 years ago but this is the longest stretch of feeling so much pressure 24/7 everyday for 5 years. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn m describing here so I discontinued using it and the symptoms are still there. I have also been on Ativan/Lorazepam for many years but it is not helping with this latest attack at all. I took Atenolol and that didn't help either. Last night I took an Atarax and that only helped slightly. As far as test go, I'm like a lot of other people.
Avatar f tn Hello Samsung - I just answered this and my answer disappeared in thin air - so if you suddenly get another answer dont worry its all my fault. You're fine. the NAAT tests are not typically available in the UK NHS for diagnosis but are available in the private sector like our clinic. They are fabulously accurate and definitely at 5 weeks that result will be a certainty. You are HIV negative. The oraquick is reassuring but designed for use at 12 weeks.
Avatar n tn Hi Thank you I was telling him that, he also states that the more activity getting up and moving around, seems to make his urine darker, laying still the less discoloration he has, When it was dark and bloody he had gotten up to do little things around the house, now lying still it is less, does this make any sense???
Avatar n tn IT is worth noting that I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroidits about one year ago because of active anti thyroid antibodies. My Thyroid function is still good and there are no palpable abnormalities per last exam (3 months ago) So, I am at a loss as to what to do next assuming the BArium swallow shows nothing. This sounds to me like classic Laryngeal Reflux/Post nasal drip, but the therapies do not help. Am I missing something? Anyone?
Avatar f tn Family history: My sister & dad have rhinitis. My mom has chronic cough and her PCP said it’s allergic (don't have detail check-up). I had strong allergic reaction to Erythromycin (whole body & face swollen & covered by hives/rash) when I was a kid Since 2010, I started feeling congested at night (bedtime & early morning) and okay in daytime. Occasionally took Claritin because of tickle in throat but nothing serious. Normal daily life & sleeping is fine.
Avatar n tn d go to the doctor they would tell me I had allergies (which I do) but this is severe. This is not just allergies. After doing my own research online, I decided I either had a deviated septum or chronic sinusitis. I have been on just about every allergy medication they will throw at you and yes, I've been on the medication for asthma as well, which didn't help at all. After an xray, my doctor diagnosed me with chronic sinusitis and put me on antibiotics. Big mistake.
