My Dr. put me on lowest dose of Losartan and I got joint pain in my thumbs and then in a knee so I weaned myself off but my BP was very high (systolic) during visit. He puts me on Irbesartan, SAME class of drug, then goes on VACATION. It's the smallest dose and I took a corner of a pill yesterday, no pill today, BP is fine, I'm in PAIN. My thumbs hurt, my right foot and left knee, I don't feel well and then I read that all of this are side effects of this drug.
m currently taking Irbesartan every morning and is now controlled well. I enjoy traveling in hot conditions, some days can be up to 39 degrees. Can my blood pressure medication stand such heat if I was to say just put it in my wallet? I'm always traveling to different places and don't always have access to a fridge or ice to take on hand. If not, are there any other heat resistance BP medication i can try?
3.7cm generally is not considered an "aneurysm," but is certainly larger than normal if you are an average-sized woman. The fact that you had such a large jump in 1 year is quite concerning. The risk, as you may know, is that the aorta will get large enough and/or expand quickly enough to cause a tear or rupture, which is a major emergency.

I am a male 70 years of age. I have been on 150mg Irbesartan and 5mg Amlodipine daily since October 2010. This controlled by BP within acceptable limits. Since late April, however, the systolic has risen to an average of around 150. My doctor wants me to add a beta blocker to the other medications. Since last October my heart rate was averaging below 60. Since late April it is averaging around 70.
Can you please advise if I am taking high blood pressure medication (irbesartan) and Altorvastatin for high cholesteron and I am also taking Tamoxafin for breast cancer (about to come off this drug), is it adviseable to take Leptin Cocoa for health weight loss or would this affect the medications?

I'm sorry, I missed the Hashi's dx - my mistake. I don't see anything that indicates you had a thyroid ultra sound? Please don't tell me I missed that too, in spite of going back and reading again...........LOL
It's possible that you have nodules that are leaking hormone independently of the thyroid gland itself. This can swing you from hypo to hyper very quickly.
t doing well and you raised them on your own to see if it would help which is never a good idea? What is the dose that you are taking? What dose did you take today? I could give you some more information then. But more importantly if you are starting to feel sick then you might have taken above what is the reccomended maximum dosage and clearly you are encountering some side effects.
max effective dose..........been on 20mg for 3 weeks............. wonderred if i would need more or just more time. worried if i take more i will be even more anxious, anyway i have an appt tomorow with psychiatrist so that is good timing i can ask her!
my friend just started taking trandolapril 1mg and Irbesartan its only been a couple days but she feels awful

If you have a 20 mGy exposure, then that is the maximum dose any tissue in the path of the radiation can recieve. In reality that is the dose exposed to at the skin on the beam side, and the dose decreases with tissue depth as some of the radiation is absorbed at each level as it penetrates tissue and is therefore gone and cannot expose the deeper tissues.
There is a small ascending aortic aneurysm. Ascending aorta is dilated. Maximum dimension of the ascending artery at the level of the main pulmonary artery measure 40 X 41 mm in maximum dimension consistent with mild dilation of the ascending aorta.
Are these pretty much the same reports or has there been a change?

What is low-dose CMF? My OncoTypeDX was 12 and I am node neg. Estrogen pos progesterone neg Stage one breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy 12/20 and must decide on chemo(low-doseCMF) or not. I know what each drug is, but what is the low-dose part? If it's low-dose, do I really need it? I am going to do hormone therapy for 5 yrs and radiation.
however, there is a new lower maximum recently released that states 2,600 mg per day is the maximum. The maximum single dose of tylenol that can be taken safely is 1,000 mg.
The oxycodone-acetaminophen that you are taking contains in each pill 5 mg of oxycodone and 325 mg of acetaminophen (aka tylenol). Make sure that you tally up the acetaminophen in each pill you take over the day and make sure that you don't exceed 1,000 mg in a single dose and 2,600 mg per day.

I am 17. Saturday my head hurt like a migraine, I was a little nauseated and pretty drowsy, I didn't give it to much thought because it's been happening lately and I have bad allergies. Sunday I felt fine. Last night my back started hurting more so around the kidneys and I was pretty nauseated. Told my dad, he said to drink some water and rest. I drank 6 glasses of water and the pain stopped.
