Avatar n tn Yes, excess mucous can be a sign of peanut allergy. Peanut allergy can also cause worsening of asthma. This allergy is more prevalent in children than adults and you might want to avoid peanut butter for a few years.
Avatar f tn I have a niece that has a peanut allergy and a nephew that has a severe peanut allergy. He carries an epi pen with him but he is in his twenties and has had the peanut allergy since he was a child. My niece is only five years old. Her mom is not allergic to peanuts , but my niece is allergic to peanuts. You have to be careful of ice cream too as this could contain traces of peanuts. My niece's mom is extremely careful.
467126 tn?1283144858 s a superstition that your child could develop a peanut allergy if you do. I, however, ate peanut butter every single day and my kids are allergy-free!!!
Avatar n tn Eat away. It is only dangerous if YOU have a peanut allergy. Because obviously you don't want to get sick while pregnant.
733681 tn?1231811440 I have a fairly severe peanut allergy. I left the ER still having some asthma symptoms but much better. I think they gave me albuterol with ipratropium. Done some reading and read that it shouldnt be given to someone with a peanut or soy allergy. Anyways, about 6 yrs ago I started having labored breathing spells, but would most of the time cough up a white stringy pizza cheese looking sputum. it happened a couple of times a year and was minimal.
Avatar n tn hi, my question is can we mix albuterol, ipratropium, pulmacort together and the order is give these medication together by nebulizer.
Avatar m tn I know I'm not allergic to peanuts but about a year ago I started having really bad stomach pains everytime I ate peanut butter. I grew up on peanut butter but now I can't even eat candy with any sort of peanut butter type filling like a butterfinger. How do I find out why it gives me such bad stomach pains? I really like peanut butter and want to have it again.
427382 tn?1298209586 I have heard of this. The theory is that you will increase the likelihood of your child having a peanut allergy. Do I think its true... NO. But, that is the theory behind it. I would talk to your pediatrician and find out what his or her thoughts are on it.
Avatar m tn Foods (mostly spices) that I am allergic to do not contain peanut or shrimp. These allergy food cause swelling in my mouth, tongue and throat quickly from contact only. I used to eat peanut butter and jelly at least 5 times a week. Bags of peanuts for snacks, 20-30 shelled peanuts at a time. And shrimp I'd eat about every other week for dinner until I was full which is about 8-12 medium shrimp. I'd end up with left overs and have them the next day.
Avatar m tn what once is a delayed reaction as you describe can escalate without warning into a more serious peanut allergy needing an epi pen. I'd see an allergist and be tests and do always treat peanuts with respect. Repeated exposure is what can cause an allergy to form .. the body continues to build antibodies against the item . this case peanuts. and the reaction can change suddenly .. this is what we've been told. PS: My kids are + in blood to peanuts; yet don't react ..
Avatar f tn I purchased the Omron Portable Ultrasonic Nebulizer and am using the vials of Albuterol and Ipratropium. I can only use 1/2 vial because more than that speeds my heart up too much. Can I save the last 1/2 of the vial for later use? Does anybody know of a more affordable way to get the medicine I need? I am paying out of pocket and this economy gets harder every day it seems like.
Avatar n tn The common existing food allergens are Peanut flour, peanut butter, powdered egg white, Powdered/fresh milk Soy milk, soy flour Wheat breads, flour etc. As allergic reactions are IgE mediated, blood tests will show increase in these levels secondary to a food allergy. The problem with the food allergy testing is sometimes the amount of food they challenge with may be not sufficient to elicit any allergic reactions.
Avatar f tn He diagnosed me with bronchitis brought on my the sinus issue and scheduled an appointment with an allergist. Than ran the allergy test with negative results. Yes, all 58 pin pokes in the back were negative and then 17 injections under the skin of my forearms all came back negative. I have the septum surgery, that was 4 months ago. I've tried all kinds of meds to no avail. I'll list them at the end of my post.
Avatar n tn Allergy to peanuts would be to all forms of the peanut, not just peanut butter. It sounds like it is the undisgested part of food which happens with high fiber foods (peanuts). If you are concerned, see your MD.
4715985 tn?1371582997 Someone at work told me that i have to eat at least a tbsp of peanut butter a day to prevent my child from having allergies? I hate peanut butter so much too a point rmthat it makes me feel sick (ever since im a kid actually) but if its actually true then ill suffer and eat that darn peanut butter for the sake of avoiding peanut allergies. It just sounds like a old wives tale to me really. I mean if my kid is allergic to something its its his genes already, no?
Avatar f tn I would like to ask if the ipratropium inhaler is available with the combination of salbutamol and what brand?
Avatar f tn What is causing it? I fed her peanut butter once and this happened and my roommate fed her peanut butter on a seperate occasion and nothing happened except for her loving it! I feed her out of a plastic bowl for the time being that I wash every day. Since Charley is so new to our house there are no scratches or anything in the bowl and she is getting a metal one in the next couple of days.
Avatar f tn my DH is highly allergic to peanut, peanut butter , peanut oil, ect. So I can understand the dangers of this. My 1st grader is also in a peanut free class. This is also something we practice at home too. I think the parents may be taking this too the WAY extreem though. Peanut sniffing dog?? Oh come on! I do think its a good habit having the children wash their hands..........but brushing their teeth?? no.
Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, determination of the food you are allergic to, is one of the challenges which you need to pass through. The common existing food allergens are Peanut flour, peanut butter, Powdered egg white, Powdered/fresh milk Soy milk, soy flour Wheat breads, flour etc. As allergic reactions are IgE mediated, blood tests will show increase in these levels secondary to a food allergy.
Avatar f tn 4 yrs ago when I was pregnant with my daughter research was saying not to eat nuts bcuz after birth children are more likely to develop allergies. This pregnancy more studies have been done & now they are saying the opposite. Babies that were exposed to nuts in the womb were less likely to develop allergies. I say in moderation it should be fine.
Avatar n tn Your allergist may order allergy tests, including food allergy testing, albeit there are many false-positives with food allergy testing. You could eliminate a food from your diet and see if you remain symptom free. Then reintroduce that food to determine if that is the trigger. Again, I must recommend you ask your health care provider about the Epi-Pen.
Avatar n tn If you are taking Duoneb there is no point in taking Spiriva because Spiriva is related to the ipratropium that is a consitituant of Duoneb. Also Spiriva is extremely drying which may be why you are feeling so uncomfortable. To be using Duoneb five or six times a day you would have to be close to death. Obviously you aren't, so you can cut back without any problem. I have serious COPD and my use of Duoneb averages 3.5 vials daily. The big question is - how bad is your COPD?
Avatar f tn The common existing food allergens are Peanut flour, peanut butter, powdered egg white, Powdered/fresh milk Soy milk, soy flour Wheat breads, flour etc. The food she is allergic to, can be known by the experience. Even an individual can be allergic to rice or to its components. She seems to have cough dominant asthma. In such case change of place can help. As allergic reactions are IgE mediated, blood tests will show increase in these levels secondary to a food allergy.

Avatar n tn s back to being as is was prior to the treatment. I have tried Veramyst and Ipratropium Bromide nasal sprays along with nasal flushing, all they do is bring on an attack. The sprays trigger it almost immediately and the irritation continues for up to an hour or more. It doesn't matter where I am, so I know it's not environmental. I sneeze on the average of 30-40 times through out the day with congestion. This started about 1-1/2 months after I quit smoking a little over 3 years ago.
