Ipratropium neb solution

Common Questions and Answers about Ipratropium neb solution

atrovent

Avatar f tn I have not used Spiriva so I am unsure of its dosage, but I have taken ipratropium which is in the same class. As a neb solution it lasts 6 hours and as an MDI it last 4 hours. Check your prescription for dosing on this medication. Advair is a combination medication used to treat COPD and asthma. It has two active components a cortocosteroid (antiinflamatory) AND an LABA (long acting beta2 agonist that lasts 12 hours). Beta2 agonists are the broncho-dilaters.
Avatar n tn hi, my question is can we mix albuterol, ipratropium, pulmacort together and the order is give these medication together by nebulizer.
Avatar f tn I purchased the Omron Portable Ultrasonic Nebulizer and am using the vials of Albuterol and Ipratropium. I can only use 1/2 vial because more than that speeds my heart up too much. Can I save the last 1/2 of the vial for later use? Does anybody know of a more affordable way to get the medicine I need? I am paying out of pocket and this economy gets harder every day it seems like.
Avatar n tn yea but it uses alot of oxygen to use it for that....i think it needs set at like 10 L/M.
Avatar f tn I would like to ask if the ipratropium inhaler is available with the combination of salbutamol and what brand?
Avatar f tn Even plain saline at times will help...I personally love hypertonic saline (3% solution as compared to 0.9% solution), that stuff will make your mucous run like a river!
Avatar n tn And you need your physician to prescribe TWO solutions. Ipratropium Bromide inhalation solution .02 (0.5 mg/vial) and Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation solution (O.83%). There are severalissues. You will eventually acustum yourself to these solutions and they will stop working. You should have at least two weeks.Probably months, but at least two weeks before this happens. The Albuterol will make you "antsy" and nervous. If it gets too bad try the Ipratroprium alone.
Avatar n tn If you are taking Duoneb there is no point in taking Spiriva because Spiriva is related to the ipratropium that is a consitituant of Duoneb. Also Spiriva is extremely drying which may be why you are feeling so uncomfortable. To be using Duoneb five or six times a day you would have to be close to death. Obviously you aren't, so you can cut back without any problem. I have serious COPD and my use of Duoneb averages 3.5 vials daily. The big question is - how bad is your COPD?
Avatar f tn My doctor has me using the neb more than an inhaler. I am to use my inhaler only when I absolutely cannot use my neb or for very minor issues. Personally, I find it is MUCH more effective. The nebulizer produces a much finer mist than what comes out of an inhaler enabling it to get deeper into the lungs. I know of some people that have purchased small, purse sized nebs to use instead of using an inhaler at all.
Avatar f tn I am not taking any oral steroids at this time. I use Duo Neb Inhalation 2 times per day and oxygen on 2 L continously. The Pulmonary Doctor keeps having me try to use Advair but I get thrush in my mouth anytime I'm on Advair or oral steroids. So I try to avoid them if at all possible. I am currently using Spiriva HandiHaler which I believe is not suppose to have any steroids but I keep getting Thrush in my mouth !
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with acute bronchitus and also had an asthma attack on top of it which made my breathing verrrry difficult. I was given Z pack, pretnezone. And took 2 nebulizer treatments there. I have a neb at home. I have been taking the medicine as directed. And doing my neb every 4 hrs. I am becoming MORE and MORE wheezy. Throughout the day 4 times I have been coughing up green with red brownish sputum.
Avatar f tn Medications such as asthalin, trebutaline, steroids, ipratropium bromide, and chromolyn sodium can be tried. Please consult a doctor immediately. Take care!
Avatar n tn Today at kaiser while I was being treated for a case of asthma, a nurse brought in the breathing machine, the one where you have to put in a liquid solution of albuterol and inhale it and she dropped the mouthpiece and washed it out then had me use it. Is that okay to do, I'm assuming it's still sterilized?
Avatar f tn I use Duoneb which is a combination of albuterol and ipratropium. You are making me wonder if I can manage with ipratropium alone. I have never tried it. I will ask my lung doctor. I use a portable nebulizer. With that I can take as little as I need (or as much).
Avatar n tn I have severe asthma AND VCD. I was recently started on CPAP for a mild case of sleep apnea. I hate it! I can't breathe with the machine on and it gives me headaches. I'm not sleeping any better with it than I was without it. I'm still waking up at least once per night needing to do a neb treatment. I also have fibromyalgia and PD, so I'm up several times per night due to pain, which the CPAP doesn't help.
757137 tn?1347196453 Side effects are restlessness, irritability and nervousness. Ipratropium blocks the effect of acetylcholine on airways (bronchi) and nasal passages. This is used as an alternative to Albuterol if the side effects are severe with Albuterol. This could also be used in conjunction with Albuterol, to relieve acute flare ups of Asthma. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Hi, I did a search for interactions between Duolin (salbutamol/ipratropium bromide) and doxyfyline and didn't find anything, but a doctor would definitely be better equipped to answer your question. If your symptoms aren't getting any better, despite using the medication, you should definitely talk to your doctor.
Avatar m tn nasal sprays (dymista, Ipratropium Bromide), singulair, sudafed, benedryl, various antibiotics. My pcp said I had a sinus infection, but my ent says that's bs and I'm just overcongested. I just want my life back. I'd like to go to bed without fearing the awful feeling that morning brings.
Avatar n tn He has a nebulizer the sent home with him and albeutrol solution for the neb. (uses 4 times a day with the albeuterol) , also has proventil rescue inhaler, and a ton of different medications. He is on formuterol fumarate 12 mcg, paratropium bromide .5, hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg, simvastatin 10 mg, citalopram hydrobeomide 10 mg, losactan 100 mg, metoprolol tactcate 25 mg. carbamaze 200 mg. 2 X per day.
Avatar f tn Should not matter ..... I would take it an hour or so before your neb treatment so if it helps loosen up the mucus, hopefully the other meds will be able to improve the breathing even more. Hope that helps!
Avatar n tn I sound like I am drowning in my own fluids. I talke neb treatments, inhalers, stomache acid reducer, spariva, singulair and some. I feel I am loosing this battle. I have had severe asthma since age 4. I was too embarrassed to go to er last night. I had an attack lasting 3 hrs. I took 3 neb treatments, then with no help I took 30mmg. pregnazone which I have been on pregnazone for months. Where do I get help. Different Dr's, different meds, different answeres.
Avatar n tn There is a small possibility that you are allergic to the ipratropium bromide (Atrovent), which is one of the two components of Combivent. The other component is albuterol. Strange as it may seem, ipratropium bromide is made from PEANUTS, one of the foods that almost every asthmatic is allergic to. I am allergic to peanuts, but my combivent helps my asthma. No asthma medication will give long-lasting relief, if you are still exposing yourself to the trigger or triggers that are making you sick.
Avatar n tn I, too, am an asthmatic and have a nebulizer machine at home. I was diagnosed with my asthma at age 18 (I'm now 47), and "back then", it wasn't as common to have a neb machine at home unless your asthma was not very well controlled (mine wasn't).
Avatar f tn It wouldn't hurt to see a specialist at this point, especially if the pedi isn't looking into other possibilities. I am a mom too, if I hadn't gone with my gut as far as my son was concerned, he might have died. He had severe asthma issues as a little boy, I called the doc one night to tell him that he was having more problems, things didn't "seem right". The doc told me to give a neb and try to let my son sleep.
