Ipratropium medication

Common Questions and Answers about Ipratropium medication

atrovent

Avatar n tn hi, my question is can we mix albuterol, ipratropium, pulmacort together and the order is give these medication together by nebulizer.
Avatar n tn If you are taking Duoneb there is no point in taking Spiriva because Spiriva is related to the ipratropium that is a consitituant of Duoneb. Also Spiriva is extremely drying which may be why you are feeling so uncomfortable. To be using Duoneb five or six times a day you would have to be close to death. Obviously you aren't, so you can cut back without any problem. I have serious COPD and my use of Duoneb averages 3.5 vials daily. The big question is - how bad is your COPD?
Avatar f tn Hello Dbsheta, Just finished reading your comments. I would definitely go back to your doctor and tell her or him that the medication that prescribed doesn't seem to be helping. It' s very important that the doctor know this. At this appointment you can ask your doctor the questions you've posted here. I wish you good luck.
Avatar f tn I purchased the Omron Portable Ultrasonic Nebulizer and am using the vials of Albuterol and Ipratropium. I can only use 1/2 vial because more than that speeds my heart up too much. Can I save the last 1/2 of the vial for later use? Does anybody know of a more affordable way to get the medicine I need? I am paying out of pocket and this economy gets harder every day it seems like.
Avatar m tn I am taking Flovent, Spiriva and ProAir. Since I've been on the medication I've been Dxed with idiopathic neuropathy, cervical radiculopathy, carpel tunnel. I also have other entrapment symptoms, ulnar ,and I think in my legs as well. Sometimes I get a burst of nerve pain in my arms and legs a few minutes after using the Flovent and it also causes some tendon swelling. I've shown over and over that I have less pain on lower doses of meds.
Avatar f tn I use Duoneb which is a combination of albuterol and ipratropium. You are making me wonder if I can manage with ipratropium alone. I have never tried it. I will ask my lung doctor. I use a portable nebulizer. With that I can take as little as I need (or as much).
Avatar f tn I would like to ask if the ipratropium inhaler is available with the combination of salbutamol and what brand?
Avatar n tn There is a small possibility that you are allergic to the ipratropium bromide (Atrovent), which is one of the two components of Combivent. The other component is albuterol. Strange as it may seem, ipratropium bromide is made from PEANUTS, one of the foods that almost every asthmatic is allergic to. I am allergic to peanuts, but my combivent helps my asthma. No asthma medication will give long-lasting relief, if you are still exposing yourself to the trigger or triggers that are making you sick.
Avatar n tn I now use only natural anti-inflammatories and am more symptom free than I was using those poisons. The only medication I take is an Duoneb (albuterol/ipratropium) in a nebulizer. I have fairly severe COPD. The best remedy I have found for chronic bronchitis are large doses of vitamin B5. B5 is a mucus thinner and an anti-inflammatory. There are no side effects. I take other stuff as well and have just added some Chinese herbs (under doctor's advice).
Avatar f tn I have not used Spiriva so I am unsure of its dosage, but I have taken ipratropium which is in the same class. As a neb solution it lasts 6 hours and as an MDI it last 4 hours. Check your prescription for dosing on this medication. Advair is a combination medication used to treat COPD and asthma. It has two active components a cortocosteroid (antiinflamatory) AND an LABA (long acting beta2 agonist that lasts 12 hours). Beta2 agonists are the broncho-dilaters.
Avatar f tn Medications such as asthalin, trebutaline, steroids, ipratropium bromide, and chromolyn sodium can be tried. Please consult a doctor immediately. Take care!
757137 tn?1347196453 Side effects are restlessness, irritability and nervousness. Ipratropium blocks the effect of acetylcholine on airways (bronchi) and nasal passages. This is used as an alternative to Albuterol if the side effects are severe with Albuterol. This could also be used in conjunction with Albuterol, to relieve acute flare ups of Asthma. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn nasal sprays (dymista, Ipratropium Bromide), singulair, sudafed, benedryl, various antibiotics. My pcp said I had a sinus infection, but my ent says that's bs and I'm just overcongested. I just want my life back. I'd like to go to bed without fearing the awful feeling that morning brings.
Avatar n tn Take the prescribed medication and try to relax. 100% is too much oxygen on the pulse oximeter. An appropriate reading is 90% to 99% which is indicative of a good mixture of gasses in the lungs. Make a visit to the MD office and check: ABG = arterial blood gasses CBC with Diff = complete blood count with differential (keeping an eye on the eosinophil count.
Avatar n tn s back to being as is was prior to the treatment. I have tried Veramyst and Ipratropium Bromide nasal sprays along with nasal flushing, all they do is bring on an attack. The sprays trigger it almost immediately and the irritation continues for up to an hour or more. It doesn't matter where I am, so I know it's not environmental. I sneeze on the average of 30-40 times through out the day with congestion. This started about 1-1/2 months after I quit smoking a little over 3 years ago.
Avatar n tn In addition, if the cough, even in part, is due to asthma, the CombiventĀ® Inhalation Aerosol (ipratropium bromide and albuterol sulfate) is inadequate therapy for asthma. There are times when cough is the primary symptom or the only symptom of asthma so a trial of an inhaled steroid would be warranted. If vigorous therapy for asthma does not reduce your cough, especially when combined with nasal washes and the use of a nasal steroid inhaler, then you should see an ENT.
Avatar n tn Xopenx 1.25 mg and Ipratropium Bromide 0.02%.
Avatar f tn Allegra, zyrtec, claritin, flonase, ipratropium, ranitidine, azelastine, prednisone, azelastine, clarithromyc, ventolin, montelukast, azithromycin, clindamycin, methylpred, cefdinir, omeprazole, arnuity.
Avatar f tn Are u taking any other medication ? I went thru something very similar ... occasional severe hives. Went thru the 201 allergy reaction tests and am allergic to nothing. After a year finally tracked the hives down. My asthma inhaler Combivent was causing the hives. I have no problem with albuterol; it was the ipratropium bromide in Combivent causing the hives. I now stay away from any inhaler (like Spiriva) containing similar bromide components. Also check meds you take for sulphur.
746512 tn?1388807580 Your doctor should have prescribed ipratropium bromide. Use the albuterol to open the airway, and three minutes later use the ipratopium bromide (Atrovent). Use the albuterol only when your symptoms come up, because the airways can become less responsive when this medication is over-used, and you want it when you need it. And follow the instructions, of have someone in an asthma clinic review them with you.
Avatar f tn Drowsiness is not a common side effect, although I suppose there are some people that have all kinds of oddball effects from medication. As Tammy2009 stated, proper use of the inhaler is important. Most people don't use the inhaler properly. Shake it. Exhale completely, Inhale as it is discharged, and hold your breath for several seconds. Commonly Albuterol is prescribed together with a second inhaler of ipratropium bromide HFA. Neither should cause drowsiness, burping or chest pains.
Avatar f tn The only prescription medication I use now is Duoneb (albuterol and ipratropium) in a nebulizer. I use about two ampules a day. I do not use a rescue inhaler. Instead I have a small, portable nebulizer. It is so small that it fits into my purse. The advantage is that I can take as little as I need, sometimes just a few puffs. It is made by Omron and costs about $200. It is worth every cent.
1507301 tn?1289936394 I use a nebulizer (albuterol and ipratropium), and take natural anti-inflammatories and an antihistamine for allergies. If you get a peak flow meter you will be able to assess your condition (not the infection, of course) and your progress, or lack thereof.
1306047 tn?1333243591 Since you have this feeling of incomplete air in the lung, you need some medication to open up your air passages or bronchioles. COPD can be treated in many ways and one has to find the best method by trial and error. One way to treat is through nebulization. In this the drug goes directly into the lungs just like inhalers. Rotacaps is another such method. You can discuss this with the asthma/COPD specialist.
Avatar n tn It contains Albuterol, which sends a signal to the airway smooth muscle to loosen, and Ipratropium bromide, which interferes with the signal our cholinergic system sends to the airway muscle to clamp back down. So one relaxes, while the other stops the system from getting tight again.
Avatar f tn I need some advice,. I've been struggling with extreme amounts of sinus mucus that overtakes me. This has gone on for 8 yrs after a bad sinus infection, this started and won't calm down with standard treatmnt. Iv'e had ph probe , sinus surgery (ethmoidectomy) , take prevacid 2x day along with hbp meds. I have sle lupus and wonder if there is a connection. Nothing stops this excessive choking white stringy mucus except a long prednisone burst..
Avatar n tn And you need your physician to prescribe TWO solutions. Ipratropium Bromide inhalation solution .02 (0.5 mg/vial) and Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation solution (O.83%). There are severalissues. You will eventually acustum yourself to these solutions and they will stop working. You should have at least two weeks.Probably months, but at least two weeks before this happens. The Albuterol will make you "antsy" and nervous. If it gets too bad try the Ipratroprium alone.
Avatar n tn The medicines used can be asthalin, trebutaline, steroids, ipratropium bromide, and chromolyn sodium amongst a few options available. You will have to keep the house, bed linen etc dust free. Check for molds at homeā€”under sink, bathroom, toilets, drains, damp wall, under carpets etc. Mold spores can make asthma worse. Please consult an asthma specialist. Take care!
