Avatar m tn I take Spiriva Respimat (tiotropium bromide) 2.5 mcg/actuation, and Wixela (fluticasone propionate salmeterol inhalation powder) for my COPD. Is there a sequence I should be taking these meds in? Is there a time frame I should use between the two meds?
Avatar n tn Yes, there are. Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) is one and Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate) another. Each is a bronchodilator and capable of giving good relief of shortness of breath.
Avatar n tn Xopenx 1.25 mg and Ipratropium Bromide 0.02%.
Avatar f tn Medications such as asthalin, trebutaline, steroids, ipratropium bromide, and chromolyn sodium can be tried. Please consult a doctor immediately. Take care!
Avatar f tn If from the lungs, you could be experiencing Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) withdrawal symptoms, depending on what type of lung problem was being treated with the Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder). These symptoms, along with your arms feeling weak and heavy, could all be due to anxiety, but could also be symptoms of more serious disease of the heart or lungs. For that reason, you do need to see your doctor to sort this out.
Avatar f tn Hi, I did a search for interactions between Duolin (salbutamol/ipratropium bromide) and doxyfyline and didn't find anything, but a doctor would definitely be better equipped to answer your question. If your symptoms aren't getting any better, despite using the medication, you should definitely talk to your doctor.
Avatar n tn This would include a long-acting bronchodilator, such as Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate), Foradil® Aerolizer™ (formoterol fumarate inhalation powder) or Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) along with an inhaled steroid. Another potentially helpful, oral medicine is called theophylline. Your doctor may also want to prescribe this. You should have your blood oxygen level checked, in case it is low and you would need supplemental oxygen.
Avatar m tn nasal sprays (dymista, Ipratropium Bromide), singulair, sudafed, benedryl, various antibiotics. My pcp said I had a sinus infection, but my ent says that's bs and I'm just overcongested. I just want my life back. I'd like to go to bed without fearing the awful feeling that morning brings.
Avatar n tn There is a small possibility that you are allergic to the ipratropium bromide (Atrovent), which is one of the two components of Combivent. The other component is albuterol. Strange as it may seem, ipratropium bromide is made from PEANUTS, one of the foods that almost every asthmatic is allergic to. I am allergic to peanuts, but my combivent helps my asthma. No asthma medication will give long-lasting relief, if you are still exposing yourself to the trigger or triggers that are making you sick.
Avatar f tn My asthma inhaler Combivent was causing the hives. I have no problem with albuterol; it was the ipratropium bromide in Combivent causing the hives. I now stay away from any inhaler (like Spiriva) containing similar bromide components. Also check meds you take for sulphur. I can tell a new med contains sulphur when my hands itch like crazy from hives. I am also IGA deficient (immunoglobulin A deficient). Which explains why I seem to catch every cold and flu going around.
Avatar f tn Spiriva contains tiotropium bromide which is an anticholinergic bronchodilator. So, yes, both have action against acetylcholine recptors and both are efefctive bronchodilators. You can take any one of them. Indacaterol is an ultra-long-acting beta-adrenoceptor agonist. So, it gives bronchodialation for a much longer time. It is a more recent drug so long term efficacy data are not available. However, available data does show a marked benefit in individuals with COPD.
Avatar m tn Cause of low DLCO and drop in it from test 1 to test 1? I am currently on tiotropium bromide and salmeterol/fluticasone propionate. My reason for posting this is one doc is pessimistic and the other highly optimistic. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) has a maximum duration of action of about 36 hours. To be safe, you would want to be off the medicine for 48 to 72 hours before the spirometry. It would have been preferable, but not mandatory to do the pulmonary function tests (PFTs) at the time the diagnosis of chronic lung disease was made especially if the diagnosis was unequivocal. The other important question would be, “Why 3 CT scans, presumably of your lungs, in 16 months?
Avatar n tn In addition, if the cough, even in part, is due to asthma, the Combivent® Inhalation Aerosol (ipratropium bromide and albuterol sulfate) is inadequate therapy for asthma. There are times when cough is the primary symptom or the only symptom of asthma so a trial of an inhaled steroid would be warranted. If vigorous therapy for asthma does not reduce your cough, especially when combined with nasal washes and the use of a nasal steroid inhaler, then you should see an ENT.
Avatar n tn It contains Albuterol, which sends a signal to the airway smooth muscle to loosen, and Ipratropium bromide, which interferes with the signal our cholinergic system sends to the airway muscle to clamp back down. So one relaxes, while the other stops the system from getting tight again.
746512 tn?1388807580 Your doctor should have prescribed ipratropium bromide. Use the albuterol to open the airway, and three minutes later use the ipratopium bromide (Atrovent). Use the albuterol only when your symptoms come up, because the airways can become less responsive when this medication is over-used, and you want it when you need it. And follow the instructions, of have someone in an asthma clinic review them with you.
1481176 tn?1291392092 I just found out that my neurologist has prescribed pyridostigmine bromide (Mestinon) for my orthostatic hypotension and is having it mailed to me. Has anyone else used this and with what results?
Avatar f tn I spent about 20 minutes in our newly aquired hot tub last week without realizing the Bromide level was extremely high. The next day my genitals (female) felt burned and swollen, and I soon discovered large blisters inside and out down there! My rectum also hurts- probably similar to hemiroids. The blisters are very sore and I'm actually having trouble going to the bathroom. I have tried epsom salt soaks, silvadine cream, nystatin powder, and Aquaphor ointment. Nothing seems to be helping...
Avatar f tn Yes, Atrovent is ipratropium bromide is used for COPD. I use Duoneb which is a combination of albuterol and ipratropium. You are making me wonder if I can manage with ipratropium alone. I have never tried it. I will ask my lung doctor. I use a portable nebulizer. With that I can take as little as I need (or as much).
Avatar m tn t find a workable dosage of phenobartibal, you might want to ask your vet about either Dilantin, Valium, potassium bromide, felbamate, or a different type of anti-seizure medicine that can be used in conjunction with potassium bromide and/or phenobarbital together called Zonisamide. Zonisamide is totally unrelated to any of the other anticonvulsants, but, like Keppra, the full extent of its side effects is not yet known so to some vets, it is somewhat controversial to prescribe it.
Avatar n tn s back to being as is was prior to the treatment. I have tried Veramyst and Ipratropium Bromide nasal sprays along with nasal flushing, all they do is bring on an attack. The sprays trigger it almost immediately and the irritation continues for up to an hour or more. It doesn't matter where I am, so I know it's not environmental. I sneeze on the average of 30-40 times through out the day with congestion. This started about 1-1/2 months after I quit smoking a little over 3 years ago.
Avatar f tn If anyone has any info as far as when the best time to get the Pheno level tested and if you know anything about adding the Potas. Bromide - how much and did it help with the seizures.
Avatar m tn i wonder about the side effects , i also heard from a guy that i very religious and have not enganged in sex for years and years that lettuce help but i dont think soo . I just want to live my life and dont think about sex anymore my mind wants it but my body dont.
Avatar f tn it affects your brain and along with Bromide will mess up your Iodine levels and many experts believe, case thyroid problems. I am no expert but I have read many studies. Google fluoride and you will find a lot about the most recent studies. I guess you may have already gotten that far since you pointed out those pictures. I encourage you to continue to research. It is very possible that where ever you live now may still fluoridate the water. Some communities are slow to remove it.
Avatar m tn She prescribed Nasonex 2x2, Ipratropium bromide inhalation and Levocetirizine for 10 days. A follow up 10 days later, i was still coughing and she then prescribed Narivent which was so disgusting that i almost puked from it and Prospan (Hedera helix syrup). This did not help, yet again, and i was still coughing. Third follow up after 10 days was prescribed Nasonex again, salt water and a seretide inhaler.
Avatar m tn The medicines used can be asthalin, trebutaline, steroids, ipratropium bromide, and chromolyn sodium amongst a few options available. You will have to keep the house, bed linen etc dust free. Check for molds at home—under sink, bathroom, toilets, drains, damp wall, under carpets etc. Mold spores can make asthma worse. Special masks are available in the market to take care of dust and pollens. HEPPA filters can be installed at home to take care of the allergens.

Avatar f tn Last year, i started noticing multiple small, brownish, smooth surfaced and round bumps. They look like cherry angiomas more than anything else except for the colour. It's not reddish. I have read they are linked to excessive bromide in the body. I was on fluoxetine for 2 years before noticing these bumps.
