Common Questions and Answers about Index finger and ring finger test

finger

Avatar n tn Hi, This is my first time here so I am not sure how this works. I stumbled on your post while searching for an answer to a similar question. My middle finger is also shorter than my ring finger it is actually shorter than my index finger too. I only have two knuckles on my left hand behind my ring finger and index finger. But only on my left hand is my middle finger shorter. My brother's left hand is the same.
Avatar f tn I had my pins taken out Monday from my right index finger this week, and today is Friday. I still have minimal movement and much stiffness. My finger is stuck in the position it was as when the pins were in, and I am still unable to make a fist. Also my top part of my finger is pointed more towards my pinky finger than sitting in the normal position. Is this how it it will stay, or will this get better when my knuckle swelling decreases?
Avatar n tn Trigger finger treatment varies depending on its severity and duration. Symptoms of trigger finger develop when the ring, middle, or index finger attempts to flex closed while gripping. Stretching, ice, and anti-inflammation medications should be tried to start with. Steroid injections like cortisone are used as a treatment for trigger finger. Surgery is the last option to remove the scar tissue. Take care!
Avatar m tn Hello.I'm a 21 year dude and I've got a problem with some muscles in my left hand. I need to say right off the bat that I masturbate a lot. Once every 2-3 days / Once a day / Twice a day , these three periods repeat. About 7-8 months ago I noticed that my index and my ring finger twitch slightly left and right.I'm really skinny and I can see the muscle between my index finger and my thumb twitch really quickly.
Avatar f tn ve developed a strange symptom the last 3 days where my just the tops of my index, middle and ring fingers are in excuriating pain...no swelling, no redness - nothing....just pain...I feel I'm on the verge of a relapse - where my legs and face are getting painful, etc., but not full fledge yet. Could this be attributed to my MS ?
Avatar f tn I am a hairdresser . Lately while cutting hair my ring finger ( on either hand) cramps (spasms) making it extremely hard to continue the cut . This also happens often while driving and gripping the steering wheel .Sometimes the cramping will go up to my forarm . I also have occasions where my thumb will become locked in toward my hand and I can not straighten it without pulling it with the other hand. My dr. said it was arthritis and to take advil or aleve .
1427077 tn?1282913207 I went to my orthopedic hand specialist and she told me that it was the start of arthritis in my finger and that it would go away. She gave me a small splint like device and told me to wear it for a while because reducing movement in that joint would help it go away. She was right. about two weeks later the pain was gone and the bump is smaller.
Avatar m tn First it started swelling on my index finger, with a couple of visible red dots under the skin, and then it started on my ring finger, but the swelling was different, it got swollen at one point beyond the big joint of the finger and another swelling at the smaller joint of the finger. This time the swelling was hard to the touch. Like two red dots. And then my little finger started swelling too, but this one was different also.
Avatar f tn Surya Mudra Surya mudra is a hand gesture that is believed to stimulate the element of fire in the body, which is associated with digestion and metabolism. This mudra involves bending the ring finger and placing the tip of the ring finger at the base of the thumb. Regular practice of Surya mudra is said to improve digestion, boost metabolism, and regulate blood sugar levels.
Avatar m tn My ringfinger have wound still bleeding..but I use my index finger and middle finger touch a "sex worker" vaginal ..I feel a little bit wet..I not sure after this my middle finger got touch my ring finger or NT...I no sex with her...only fingering....do I have STDs risk? Should I need to text?
Avatar f tn Often, thyroid problems can cause carpal tunnel syndrome, which causes pain, burning and numbness in the thumb and fingers. With CTS, the thumb, index, and middle fingers are affected. Also, the ring finger can be affected all around, but often it's just the side of the ring finger closest to the middle finger that is affected. The pinky is not affected at all. I agree with Barb that more background information would be very helpful.
Avatar m tn I am so sorry, I on accident put index finger in the title, and I can't edit my post. Just so I am clear, it was the ring finger with the lesion, not the index finger. Thanks again.
Avatar m tn My ringfinger have wound still bleeding..but I use my index finger and middle finger touch a "sex worker" vaginal ..I feel a little bit wet..I not sure after this my middle finger got touch my ring finger or NT...do I have any HIV or STDs risk?
Avatar n tn I have the same numbness in my left ring and small finger isolated to the left side of the ring finger and the right side of the small finger. The site also has dead skin resembling eczema. I was previously diagnosed with ulnar nerve compression@ the elbow and I have a 'bible bump' small cyst like bump in my carpel area.
Avatar m tn I can see the actual twitching occur between my pinky and ring finger knuckle area and thats what makes the finger actually move. It's not rhythmic and occurs here and there, sometimes during rest, sometimes when I am gripping something not too tightly, and just now I put my hands behind my head and could feel it. It almost feels "nervey" if that makes any sense. It's now been occurring for the past 2-3 days.
1625195 tn?1332178662 There is little to no numbness. The ring finger is the same as well. But my middle finger, index finger and thumb are definitely numb and slightly swollen. My index finger, though, is the only finger experiencing some pain along with the numbness and swelling. Things to note: I did not bang my elbow on anything.
Avatar n tn Tuesday I had one on my right wrist, wednesday the bump on my right middle finger turned into a cluster of tiny bumps, and on thursday I started getting itchy on my neck, stomach, waistline, there were a few more bumps on my right and left hands and then the right index finger started, I then popped the bumps on my forearm, right index and left middle and they oozed a clear liquid. Now friday I notice I have 4 on my right ring finger. They kind of itch, but nothing severe. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn I had an enchondroma in my left ring finger last year and fractured my finger. I waited 7 weeks so it could "heal" as much as possible and then had surgery including a bone graft from my wrist to fix it. I needed pretty intense PT afterward, mostly to deal with stiffness for about 6 weeks. A year later, I still have some stiffness in the mornings in my finger but overall it's back to normal.
Avatar f tn A couple of fews ago I developed what I thought was a bruise on my left hand between my thumb and index finger. It's gotten darker though, and now appears to be two symmetrical flat moles. Then about five days ago, I noticed that I had developed a large round mole on the ring finger of my right hand. I've been wearing a ring on that finger for over a decade so I don't think that could be the result of sun damage.
Avatar f tn The middle finger lines are thicker and blurred, and the 2 toes, 2 little toes and index finger have thicker pigmentation than other nails. I biopsed a nail with not as much pigmentation as the ones mentioned above (my ring finger nail) .It was clear , Im 16 snd i had these from childhood (dont remember when they appeared). im also darlk skinned. Is there a need for a biopsy to check the blurred and wider pigmented nail?
Avatar f tn I had a burst vein in my finger and it got purple and had swelling. It happens. For me, it was when I was walking and my fingers swelled up (they do that somethings inexplicably) and I had my wedding ring on. I have a friend who is an orthopedic surgeon and he told me it was this. Ice it, rest your hand on a pillow above you when lounging on the couch, etc. I got better very quickly and let's see if you do as well.
Avatar n tn If I try to make a fist, my ring finger will not bend to the palm, my pinky finger does not bend. Pinky finger isn't injured. The middle finger (not injured either) will bend but the joint closest to the nail will not curl under. Thumb and Index are fine. I was wondering if there is an injury to one finger can it affect the other fingers beside it?
Avatar n tn It feels like my thumb and ring finger are getting better but my index and middle fingers are still just as bad.
Avatar n tn thank you for considering my question i have regular twitching in the index, middle and ring fingers of my left hand. it started abt 10-12months back with only my index finger twitching , and abt 2-3 months back , my middle finger started twitching, and from the last few days it has started in my ring finger also. the fingers start twitching randomly wenever left lose .and continue for upto 2-3 minutes. the amplitude of twitching varies from 0.4cm to about 1.5 cm and the frequency varies too .
Avatar m tn A few weeks ago I got a very mildly itchy rash on the sides of my index and ring fingers and only slightly on top as well. I assumed it was poision ivy and ignored it. The bumps dried out and stopped itching and have peeled in some spots. They don't itch or burn or have any fluid in them. Since then I have gone on a business trip in a dirty factory and have noticed where the bumps were, there now appears to be super tiny holes.
Avatar m tn Since median nerve is responsible for feeling and movement of the palm, thumb, index, middle finger and the thumb side of the ring finger, these areas may be affected. You have been engaged in repetitive hand and wrist movements, which can trigger the onset. The numbness, tingling and pain over palms, pain can extend to the elbow and interfere with finger movement with weakness of grip. Your physician should check for diabetes, hypothyroidism, as these may be associated.
Avatar m tn The index finger is the worst, being numb during most of the day. The middle finger, ring finger and thumb also have burns. All fingers are dexterous, I can feel pressure when applied and nerves seem ok. The index finger is burned on the area near the nail bed including the nail itself, the burn is isolated to the right side of the nail and finger. My question being what will a Doctor do to ease my pain and help the healing process?
Avatar n tn Usually, the thumb, forefinger, middle finger and the half of the ring finger closest to the middle finger are involved. Sometimes the other side of the ring finger is involved, but not the little finger. What you describe follows the path of the ulnal nerve. The fact that this occurred when you had a viral or bacterial infection may be more significant than you think. Some forms of "temporary" thyroiditis are triggered by upper respiratory infections.
