Common Questions and Answers about Imatinib moa

Avatar f tn Eithne01, The treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) has changed significantly since the late 1990s, with the development and subsequent approval by the Food and Drug Administration of imatinib (in 2001), the first of a class of medications called tyrosine kinase inhibitors, which target the specific abnormality that causes CML. Before that time, patients were treated with other therapy, including interferon and bone marrow transplant, and had very poor outcomes.
Avatar n tn It is possible that the white blood cell count would normalize after 2 weeks of taking Imatinib (Gleevec). Most responses to Imatinib are rapid since it targets the molecular pathogenetic event in CML. You may seek a second opinion if that will give you a peace of mind. Good luck.
1004138 tn?1316251113 lots of people die all the time because they reject traditional treatments and go with 'natural' things instead I would think of using alternatives along with regular treatments, but not in place of them. Some alternative things might have some benefit. Isn't homeopathy the approach where you dilute some substance down to one part per billion or so, and then expect it to actually have some curing power?
Avatar n tn Are you currently on any medication like imatinib? The neutropenia can be due to your current medication. You can ask your hematologist for G-CSF injection if you have persistent neutropenia. Patients with CML are immunocompromised and can easily acquire infections. Neutropenia also puts a patient in an immunocompromised state. For now, it is very important to prevent acquiring any infection. You should avoid crowded places and persons with ongoing infection. Good luck.
Avatar m tn Size exclusion chro- matography (SEC) with the recombinant assembly domain (aa 1-149) of HBV core and electron microscopy (EM) was used to study the effect of JNJ-379 on capsid assembly. Primary human hepatocytes (PHH) were either treated with CAMs or nucleos(t)ide analogs (Entecavir, Tenofovir) during or after HBV infection. HBV DNA in the cell culture supernatant and intracel- lular HBV RNA were monitored by quantitative real time PCR.
Avatar n tn Hi. Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) is a blood disorder caused by an acquired genetic defect in the pleripotent stem cell. It has several phases: indolent chronic or stable phase, aggressive or advanced phase, and accelerated and blastic phase. The transition between phases may take years (on the average, 4 to 6 years from the stable phase to aggressive phase).
Avatar f tn Leuprolide MOA: if you donĀ“t have any more testicles and prostate, why keep using this drug in PCa?
Avatar n tn Drink a lot of water??? What did she base that on??? Was she a MOA or a RN? It matters not, because getting the shot again will not harm you. It might make your wallet thinner. Stop worrying.
Avatar m tn The common side effects of Savella are vomiting, hot flushes, increased heart rate, hypertension, dizziness etc.People already on MOA oxidase inhibitors, with narrow angle glaucoma, cardiac, liver and kidney disorders should not take Savella. If these symptoms are bothering you a lot seek medical help. Get your blood pressure checked. If your blood pressure is normal these effects may dissipate with time.
Avatar f tn Average survival rates are generalizations, not applicable to a particular patient. The prognosis is relatively good. Newer techniques are being tried, including imatinib and stem cell transplantation. All the best, and God Bless!
232778 tn?1217447111 The hunter is successful and brings home the biggest prize of all, SVR! Your feeling of accomplishment is well-deserved. (I always sorta wondered what kind of animal a 'moa' was... and just substituted the 'moa' with 'hcv' in my own mind!) Your beast has been vanquished! My most heartfelt congratulations. Thanks so much for sharing the good news!
Avatar f tn TY for the reply. Yes I was told and am thinking that its parasitc or allergy. I went to aruba in June but that wouldn't have an affect on me now, would it?
Avatar n tn Well, some people do have a lower recurrence rate, but if aldara isn't working for you - and it might still be a bit early to know that - then it won't help recurrence rates. I'm a fan of freezing them. It works MUCH faster, and while some people have to keep going back, others don't have to return at all. Its your call. Perhaps a visit to an std clinic could help sort it all out for you.
Avatar f tn i was due to take the depo shot in march nd i didnt wanna take the shot no moa. i been havin unprotected sex .can i get pregnet? how long does it stay in ur system? how u noe wehn is out?
401554 tn?1270213756 Have you talked to your doctor about the new MOA Patch? A lot of people are having good results with it. Unlike the older MOA's that had severe diet restrictions connected to them, this MOA patch is transdermal and thus by passes the digestive system. The former risks associated with the old MOA delivery method have been eliminated, which makes this patch form a viable option for medication resistant people like you and I.
Avatar f tn Ok I know everyone asks these kids of questions but I have a bunch of symptoms. So I have officially missed 4 periods now. I am fairly regular with potentially being late by a day or two but never missed. I thought it was off when I missed the first one, then when I missed the second went to the dr and had a neg pee test. Then the 3rd month I went again and had a blood test, the results came in and the moa told me "it looks all good"???
Avatar f tn Therapy with corticosteroids is used for the treatment of most and additional therapy is available and dependent upon the type of HS. Newer medicines such as imatinib and mepolizumab are said to be promising. So, should your son have HS, there is reason to be optimistic regarding a positive response to currently available therapy. You should request, of his doctor, an additional explanation for the tentative diagnosis of pre-hypertension. Good luck.
220028 tn?1301336634 I think she just did not have time to really go over on the phone. And she actually had the MOA call me back, I asked her and the dr said she was not comfortable with the MOA telling me anything as it could be miss understood and then I'd have even more questions.
Avatar n tn MAO inhibitor medication is generally perscribed by Psychiatrist as a last resort antidepressant when a patient has failed to experience a response from SSRI, SNRI, or Tri-Cyclic antidepressants. Reason is because MOA inhibitors, while they are very very effective can also kill you if you eat the wrong food. There is a huge list of foods and other meds that can NEVER be consumed while on MAO treatment.
Avatar n tn is there any one who wd care to read moa case and come back with something?
Avatar n tn Diagnosis: Multiple ocular anomalies (MOA). Microphthalmos left eye with vision loss. Adherent leukoma, both eyes with iridocorneal persistent pupillary membranes, superior quadrants. Suspect some retinal dysplasia. The full report is in a pdf format so I can't copy and paste it, but it has more specifics of the exam, all of which is incomprehensible to me. I will definitely follow up in 3 months as suggested, but I'm not sure I'll go back to Angell Memorial.
