The treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) has changed significantly since the late 1990s, with the development and subsequent approval by the Food and Drug Administration of imatinib (in 2001), the first of a class of medications called tyrosine kinase inhibitors, which target the specific abnormality that causes CML.
Before that time, patients were treated with other therapy, including interferon and bone marrow transplant, and had very poor outcomes.
Are you currently on any medication like imatinib? The neutropenia can be due to your current medication. You can ask your hematologist for G-CSF injection if you have persistent neutropenia. Patients with CML are immunocompromised and can easily acquire infections. Neutropenia also puts a patient in an immunocompromised state.
For now, it is very important to prevent acquiring any infection. You should avoid crowded places and persons with ongoing infection.

Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) is a blood disorder caused by an acquired genetic defect in the pleripotent stem cell. It has several phases: indolent chronic or stable phase, aggressive or advanced phase, and accelerated and blastic phase. The transition between phases may take years (on the average, 4 to 6 years from the stable phase to aggressive phase).
It is either 1) secondary to a specific disease, in which case the treatment of that disease is also the treatment of the elevated eosinophil level or, 2) it itself is the primary disorder with its origin in the bone marrow or in association with the so-called hypereosinophilic syndromes, the treatment of which usually includes the use of corticosteroids (often referred to as just, “steroids”.
Average survival rates are generalizations, not applicable to a particular patient. The prognosis is relatively good. Newer techniques are being tried, including imatinib and stem cell transplantation.

Also it means that if a person had a T level of of 900 at his youthful age, and at sixty years if his T level drops to 400 he could develop symptoms of low T even though he is within the normal range. At the same time, a person who had a T level of 500 when young, could be symptom free at 400 level and 60 sixty years of age. However, at any age, T levels below 200 is a definite indication of hypogonadism.
Idk about the hcg level, but I think there is still time for you to have your period for October. I had a long cycle a couple times and thought I was pregnant but then a day or so later I got my normal flow. You could try a home test or wait a few more days. Of course if you check your hcg again it will have increased a ton if you are pregnant.
( I am freaking out n just need something to calm me down. I am a 38 y r old male I recently have had my prolactin level checked and it was 31 I have all symptoms of pituitary tumor and my doc thinks that's what it might be.i am a nervous wreck thinking I have a brain tumor that is non treatable. My Hcg level is 117. My dr doesnt seem to concerned but getting rechecked Friday. Anybody elses level at or around this? Should I be concerned?
I go back Tuesday for a ultrasound and get my blood level checked again.
m just worried bcuz I had a miscarriage over the summer but my first hcg level was 30 I found that out bcuz I went to the hospital last week bcuz I was bleeding so they checked my hcg level and gave me vaginal ultrasound which nothing showed up not even the sac so I was told to come back that Friday and my hcg went up to 62 i stop bleeding sunday and yesterday went to my obgyn and it was only 92
