The treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) has changed significantly since the late 1990s, with the development and subsequent approval by the Food and Drug Administration of imatinib (in 2001), the first of a class of medications called tyrosine kinase inhibitors, which target the specific abnormality that causes CML.
Before that time, patients were treated with other therapy, including interferon and bone marrow transplant, and had very poor outcomes.
Are you currently on any medication like imatinib? The neutropenia can be due to your current medication. You can ask your hematologist for G-CSF injection if you have persistent neutropenia. Patients with CML are immunocompromised and can easily acquire infections. Neutropenia also puts a patient in an immunocompromised state.
For now, it is very important to prevent acquiring any infection. You should avoid crowded places and persons with ongoing infection.

Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) is a blood disorder caused by an acquired genetic defect in the pleripotent stem cell. It has several phases: indolent chronic or stable phase, aggressive or advanced phase, and accelerated and blastic phase. The transition between phases may take years (on the average, 4 to 6 years from the stable phase to aggressive phase).
Average survival rates are generalizations, not applicable to a particular patient. The prognosis is relatively good. Newer techniques are being tried, including imatinib and stem cell transplantation.

So what exactly is heat intolerance and how does it relate to MS? I know the heat can exaggerate symptoms already there. But does MS make you more susceptible to getting overheated?
I have noticed ever since the weather got hot (80s and 90s) I have trouble with the heat. As I've mentioned before, I run a lot. When I am running I get overheated way too fast. A lot fast than the other runners I train with.
Is a food intolerance something that can have a sudden onset? For example, eating dairy your entire life, but suddenly problems arise?
Yeah pregnancy lactose intolerance is a thing. Like gestational diabetes. It usually goes away after baby is born.
I'm hypothyroid I take .75 synthroid. I have been cold intolerant for about a year now. My tsh levels are normal in the morning after taking my synthroid. But at night when I have gone to the emergency room because I'm so cold and shaking my tsh is high. 7.43. I have also felt hyperthyroid and cold at the same time. I have been to 3 endocrinologists with no answers. I can't take this cold intolerance anymore.
Any other ladies seem to have horrible heat intolerance while pregnant? Im 15wks and being out in the heat makes me feel sick and like I'll pass out, even in short intervals. Never had this before.

IVE HAD A DIABETES BLOOD TEST WHICH CAME BACK NEGATIVE BUT I DO EXPERIANCE SOME OF THE DIABETES SYMPTOMS LIKE VERY DRY MOUTH, ECZEMA ON SCALP, TREMBLING, SOMETIMES A LITTLE BLURRED VISION! I FIND THAT WHEN I EAT SOMETHING CONTAINING SUGAR LIKE A BISCUIT OR CHOCOLATE MY TREMBLING COOLS DOWN BUT DOESN'T STOP COMPLETELY.
I was just wondering if heat intolerance is an issue for everyone that has MS? I have not been diagnosed yet, but I have many symptoms. I do not have any problems with heat intolerance, I don't think. I am really trying to pin point the times when my symptoms are at their worst and a cause. So far, I have only figured out that when I am tired things are worse. Duh!!
Sorry this is way off of our normal subject, but I was just wondering the signs of lactose intolerance and whether or not you can get this as you get older. I am wondering because I have had abdominal pain for the past about 4 days. And I mean it really hurts. Also my back kind of where my kidneys are. I also get nausea a little and spent this morning vomiting. I went to the doctor and he said I was free of infection, and I am not pregnant so he does not know.
If you have a leaky valve your doc should be able to hear it as a murmur. Perhaps you could make an appointment with your primary physician and start from there? It's always a good idea to get a physical once per year, just bring up your concerns and go from there.

I am 35 years old and for about the past year I've been suffering from heat intolerance, fatigue and severe headaches. I can be sitting down at my job and be uncomfortably warm when everyone around me is wearing sweaters and jackets. I've been to see an Endicronologist, had my thyroid and adrenol glands tested, had my hormone levels checked, and had my electrolytes tested. So far, nothing has come up abnormal.
