The treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) has changed significantly since the late 1990s, with the development and subsequent approval by the Food and Drug Administration of imatinib (in 2001), the first of a class of medications called tyrosine kinase inhibitors, which target the specific abnormality that causes CML.
Before that time, patients were treated with other therapy, including interferon and bone marrow transplant, and had very poor outcomes.
Are you currently on any medication like imatinib? The neutropenia can be due to your current medication. You can ask your hematologist for G-CSF injection if you have persistent neutropenia. Patients with CML are immunocompromised and can easily acquire infections. Neutropenia also puts a patient in an immunocompromised state.
For now, it is very important to prevent acquiring any infection. You should avoid crowded places and persons with ongoing infection.

Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) is a blood disorder caused by an acquired genetic defect in the pleripotent stem cell. It has several phases: indolent chronic or stable phase, aggressive or advanced phase, and accelerated and blastic phase. The transition between phases may take years (on the average, 4 to 6 years from the stable phase to aggressive phase).
After looking at the safety data sheet I saw that some of the material properties of this refractory are carcinogens. Doing some internet research (trying to filter good and bad data), this material is considered like asbestos; this has me extremely anxious.
After looking up the symptoms of exposure, I've noticed a bit of a scratchy throat and some minor coughing. Not sure if these are actual symptom are just reactions to my anxiety! Could they be acute symptoms?
There are various data collection forms to use to determine function of behavior. One I use is an ABC data sheet. The A=Antecedent, B=Behavior and C=Consequence. Do you have access to a Behavior Analyst as part of your treatment team? That would be the best person to use as a resource for identifying the function of this behavior and formulating a plan for how to change it.
Average survival rates are generalizations, not applicable to a particular patient. The prognosis is relatively good. Newer techniques are being tried, including imatinib and stem cell transplantation.

- Well the relationship exists, its primarily about Free t3 levels. I doubt your going to find anything like spread sheet data on this subject. Doctors choose to ignore it. New England Journal of medicine is your best bet.
Do you understand the ATP process in muscle recovery? It doesn't do its job with low thyroid hormone levels. And all this leads to abnormal levels of lactic acid build up in muscle tissue. When thyroid levels are corrected, muscle recovery speeds up.

If she was sprayed with AirWick air freshener the Material Safety Data Sheet says to 'immediately remove any contact lenses and flush the eye with water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation persists, see a doctor.'
If her eye is still irritated (red, itchy, swollen, painful) or looks different AT ALL from how it normally appears, I'd get to the eye doctor right away.

I have had a few tests and visits with a cardiologist. My family doctor recommended this doctor after an abnormal EKG. My last visit the cardiologist actually has my wondering if I need to switch. I had been taking for the first time Coreg generic and I told the dr I was having trouble remembering to take the 2nd dose so was there a BP med that I could take once a day. I will say my blood pressure was very high in the office.
I looked up the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for Jeltrate Dustless Alginate Impression Material and under emergencies, it states that ingestion (swallowing it) that "Material is probably not harmful is swallowed" and "Low order of toxicity is expected when material is ingested."
If you want to, you may want to schedule your mom for a consultation with a GI (gastrointestinal) specialist to see what they may have to say about it.
