weight

Avatar f tn So at only 500-1000 calories if you are even moderately active you should be dropping weight fast. 3000 calories under/over your daily normal limits (as above) is all it takes to lose/gain 1 pound/approx 0.8(ish) kgs of body weight (this assumes the somewhat wide range of what is considered 'normal' metabolic processes) if you are under-eating by 1/3 to 2/3 of your required calories every day I would expect you to lose between 1 to 2 pounds (up to 1 kg) every week.
Avatar n tn There were times when the side effects tested my patience, but I would do it over and over again even if it were only a 50/50 chance I'd have the same result! If you are one of us suffering from and living with a condition that is life altering, it's a crappy hand to have been delt. But it is managable and there is a better way to live!!. If Topamax ISN'T your solution, please please don't give up. Keep pushing on. There is a solution for you too!
Avatar n tn I haven't lost any weight, but I do feel like it helps me keep the smallest amount of control over my weight gain. Has anyone lost weight taking 1000mg? Is 500 just not enough? Would love hear from you. You can also email me.
1272624 tn?1395437957 A little about Me... I am a 49, soon to be 50, yr old who has been trying to get pregnant for the last 3 yrs... I have had some of the tests and the results told me that I am not in menopause yet nor in pre-menopause... When tested for estrogen, every thing was right where it should be... Later tested for progesterone and found that I had close to none when there should have been at least some...
Avatar n tn yet it's lately that I've gained the most weight. I am not in pain, I just feel miserable - like over due. When I asked at the doctor's office what could cause this & what we are looking for they said 'a cyst, tumor, or cancer'...... I would kind of like a bit more information if at all possible. In the last week I gained another 10lbs & I know this can not be good or keep on.
Avatar n tn I also am on weight watchers and had lost 50 pounds a few years ago. I was looking back on my weight loss chart and saw that within 3 weeks of starting lexapro each time, I had a significant weight gain. I went from 175 to 185 the first time and then continued to gain despite following the program and exercising. When I went off the med, the weight began to drop and I made it down below 200.
Avatar n tn This is the second time that she has commented on my weight. She told me that I would probably gain 40-50 lbs total and that is OK, but it will be very hard work for me to loose the weight. I don't feel very big, I mean my tummy is huge, but I am still in size 7 pants and my face and arms and butt are still small. I started out weighting 140lbs and I now weigh 160. 20 lbs in 28 weeks. I am 5'6" tall with a medium bone frame. Do you guys think this is too much?
Avatar f tn As it stands now I am on weight based dosing of levothyroxine. My dosage is 125mcg which is 80% of what my ideal dosage by weight is. My endocrinologist will run tests in 7 weeks to determine my numbers and upon reading all the great advice on here I insisted on a free t3 and t4 test as well. Well I have been stuck at 185 pounds since the surgery and have not lost any weight although I am barely hungry and go most days with one meal.
Avatar n tn I have been yo-yo dieting all the way up to 250 pounds. I lost 50 of the pounds doing Weight Watchers with no exercise. I am now trying to get another 60 lbs off of me, incorporated 60 minutes per day of hard core cardio walking/running at a high incline, doing the South Beach diet with 1400 calories per day max, and the scale hasn't budged in 2 weeks. I am beyond frustrated. I am not seeing amazing results with a tape measure. It's as if I am doing nothing at all.
Avatar n tn You metion 90 minutes of exercise 6 days a week and that it can be broken into chunks. You also mention the weight training and that I should spilt it 50/50. Does that mean 90 minutes of cardio including weight training or should I be doing 90 minutes of cardio 6 days a week in addition to 2-3 days of weight training? I was also wondering what types of cardio I should be doing.
Avatar n tn ) Initial Weight 2/20/09 - 208.5 Weight 2/24/09 - 202.5 Weight 2/27/09 - 200.5 Weight: 3/6/09 - 196 To: Jenns28- the diet is pretty strick, but since I don't have an apetite with the adipex anyway, it's fine. I'll stick with it until I attain my goal and then my doctor has a maintenance program that I will look into.
284738 tn?1283110419 said nothing about me not gaining weight, in fact I have gained almost 25 pounds and he said that is fine. I was about 30 pounds over my ideal weight when I got pregnant, so I think that would be considered obese. Do your best to eat healthy and dont worry about it too much as long as you know you are making smart decisions about your food.
Avatar m tn Males: IBW = 50 kg + 2.3 kg for each inch over 5 feet. Females: IBW = 45.5 kg + 2.3 kg for each inch over 5 feet Your IBW is calculated to be 61.5 kg, so you are currently about 22% below your ideal body weight. In addition, your body mass index (BMI) is 17.6, which is considered underweight. With your height and age, you are in the 5th percentile when plotted on the Growth Curve Chart of the Bayley-Pinneau method. So, by definition, you are not in the short stature category.
182884 tn?1259316506 I went to my hospital where I have had numerous procedures done the last 8 years and they copied over 2 inches of tests, including EKGS, nurses notes, etc, and no charge at all. Another thing I noticed, is that dr. do not allways listen to everything you say. when I was describing my ( MI )symptoms to the dr. the initial visit, this is what the dr. put on the record. ""She describes a intital episode of pressure like pain in the center of the chest while in the video store.
Avatar f tn I don't say this to be mean but this is exactly what I did do and if I could do it all over I would do it much differently. If I had then I might still be at my ideal weight and not insulin resistant. Best of luck to you!
Avatar f tn I craved fruit like crazy they thought I was eating sweets with my second he always measured big they figured he would come early he was always top of chart or off chart and I had him one day before due date with no drugs natural birth he was 8 pounds 14 Oz

Avatar m tn Yes, the throat gets sore as the antibodies swell up the thyroid. I would fluctuate from normal, to hyper to hypo and all over the chart. Some weeks, I'd feel like I was recovering, then my thyroid nodules would leak hormone, and I'd go crazy hyper. Then the antibodies would eat another chunk of thyroid and I'd go hypo. Crazy! I didn't start feeling better until I took my Synthroid. And, I had to keep bumping up every month. Now, I'm on 150 Synthroid and 5 Cytomel.
Avatar f tn So my doctor put me on Topamax, which is also used as a mood stabilizer, to help release the lock on the weight. As far as the weight, the first 50 lbs. seemed easy with moderate lifestyle modifications of diet and exercise. I have lost a total of 140 lbs; but have had to make permanent lifestyle changes to diet and currently workout an hour 5 days a week. Now the side affects: the dopiness mentioned was more of a drugged out stupor for me and only occurred at dosage changes.
Avatar f tn For years I managed my ideal weight with minimal effort. I have Mycoplasma Pneumonia so I think the ill' buggers helped me in the weight department. But since being treated with antibiotics for a year, my levels have reduced immensely so I'm almost in the normal range.....so this may have something to do with my weight gain too. I need to figure out three things: 1. Thyroid 2. Adrenals 3. Peri-menopause UGH!!!! :-) Thanks so much for your help!
233616 tn?1312790796 //medicine.iupui.edu/clinpharm/ddis/table.aspx Although this chart is not as up to date as some others I have found, this one at least color codes the most dangerous drugs, which I found very helpful. So what is a P 450 cytochrome and why should we care? Put simply it’s a protein whose enzymes help break down drug metabolites into forms our bodies can use, and also into forms we can later eliminate from our bodies.
579258 tn?1250652943 I simply do not have the metabolism to eat what I would like, so I have to start my healthful, somewhat birdlike eating habits over again and find a way to maintain that after I achieve my ideal weight. My goal is to lose around 60 lbs this year so please wish me luck. Likewise, good luck to all those who's New Years resolutions include weight loss and may we all find the strength we need to be successful as well as the courage to be happy in our own skin. Happy New Years everyone!
Avatar m tn so my body can still make enough insulin to bring blood sugar down to 110 2-3 hrs after eating but when it gets into 100-110 range it stops making it for some reason?
Avatar f tn how close to the end does this sound to you? (I know I should just wait for Saturday's bloodwork, but hey.
Avatar f tn Btw, you can just consume regular, ol' cinnamon, too. If you look at the history of how it was discovered, of the IR folks in a study, the ones who ate apple pie turned out to be less insulin resistant. Eventually, it was discovered it was the cinnamon in the apple pie that was causing it. Later studies confirmed cinnamon improves insulin sensitivity. It's pretty well accepted, given the varied sources. It sure worked for me, with almost no reasonable question.
Avatar n tn I get on the tredmill for 2 minutes and my heart rate goes to 170. I am 50 years old. I am over weight. But this only started about 6 months ago. Something change. I have been around the same weight for years. If you have any more info or if any one does, please post it.
Avatar n tn I can relate to your ambivalence about having to start all over with a new doc, but here's the good new--that upward TSH creep is really small & essentially unchanged from the last reading, so that should be reassuring. Hope you're not feeling completely wiped out, though. And hypothyroid can definitely cause depression, so this might be contributing to your apprehensiveness about the whole situation.
Avatar f tn Each time you're changing the dosage/med, your body has to start all over again. I know that crash is no fun, but sometimes you just have to ride it out for a bit to see if things get better. I, too, would be interested in your symptoms, when you experience this crash.
Avatar n tn My back fence neighbor who is a diabetic down over 50 pounds, my good friend down 50+ pounds, the list goes on and on. I had zero side effects on the diet. Just great success!
Avatar f tn I'm sorry, I'm only maybe 60 lbs overweight and 6 ft tall, I'm not a real heavy person- there is NO reason for this, this should have been easy! I was only 40 lbs over my normal weight when I began this program. I WISH I NEVER GOT SUCKERED INTO THIS BY ADVANCED LIPO DISSOLVE. And if they STILL wont help me...I will be calling FOX 4 PROBLEM SOLVERS for some REAL assistance and the pleasure of making sure all viewers know what they can expect from this place.
