Avatar f tn We dropped by Babies R Us and talked to the gal at the registry counter. She gave us a layette list, and we bought a book from Consumer Reports about baby things, and the Girlfriend's Guide book about baby things. We then looked over the list from Babies R Us and check marked some things and crossed out others, and then went back to the store and developed our registry.
Avatar f tn My 5 year old stepdaughter has to use a booster seat by law here, my 3 year old is in a toddler car seat and now with the little one due any time we have to figure how to squeeze the base and infant seat into there too. We have a 4-door Hyundai sonata. Short of taking off a door I'm pretty stuck on what the heck to do here. lol. Anybody else found to trick to make it all fit safely???
Avatar f tn But your test might be just as accurate -- have you looked up consumer reports on the lab you used? If you are satisfied with their reputation, I am not sure why you would think the test is wrong besides just nerves.
Avatar f tn I agree chiccos are really good, they excel above and beyond at the safety rating for nhis and consumer reports independent crash test ratings. Never have recalls either.
Avatar f tn I am an avid "Consumer Reports" person who uses the "expert opinions" like they are the bible :) With that being said, the Bugaboo was rated extremely poor overall and was ranked incredibly low for safety. So, personally... I wouldn't purchase the Bugaboo, but that's just me. As for the Quinny... I have never heard of it and I don't know anything about it. You can check out Consumer Reports ratings for strollers for free for 1 month.
Avatar f tn I was told by a health care professional that I should use a cheaper alternative (~6 cents a day) that was recently recommended by Consumer Reports and is available at CostCo and Sams Club. Are all omega supplement truly alike? The reason I chose OmegaBrite is that it is a pharmaceutical grade, kosher, fish derived from the Antarctic, and product was developed/recommended by a Harvard researcher (Stoll). Am I being foolish by my decision, or should I go with the cheaper alternative?
Avatar f tn J One Touch Ultra Mini for the past 4 years. Consumer Reports rates it #1 as the only meter providing consistently accurate results. For what its worth, the OTUM is the only meter sold by my HMO's Pharmacy. Man made gizmos seem to break at unexpected times so I got a backup meter just in case. You can get a free Ultra Mini here. Takes 4-6 weeks for delivery https://www.onetouchgold.
Avatar f tn s interesting that you question the accuracy of your glucose meter for I was reading the September 2008 issues of Consumer Reports that rated both blood-pressure monitors and blood-glucose meters. Only one blood-glucose meter scored excellent overall and also scored the highest for consistency- the Johnson & Johnson Lifescan OneTouch Ultra Mini. The Ultra Mini was followed by Ascensia Contour, ReliOn Ultima (WalMart), and Accu-check Compact Plus.
Avatar f tn Id think anything sold in stores has to pass some sort of safety guidelines and inspections. I read reviews from people and consumer reports and consider wat people say are pros and cons and decide wat will work for me. I wanted a lightweight carseat with a level and an easy click base. Also a comfortable handle and adjustable straps that wrrent tough to fasten. And def inexpensive bc she will only be in it for a year or so.
Avatar f tn A site for unbiased consumer reports (I can PM you the link if you like. I'm not sure if posting it here would violate the T&C of MedHelp) states there is no reason this should work for any condition (and it makes claims about many unrelated conditions - a major red flag when determining potential efficacy) and states a strong concern that although the ingredients are listed, the amounts aren't. This is no small oversight.
Avatar n tn I use an OMRON BP 785 blood pressure monitoring unit. I got this one bec. it was recommended by Consumer Reports. I've now calibrated it against BP measuring devices in a few different MD offices, and it's always been very close to the reading in the doc's office.
Avatar n tn I've used a different brand with each if my kids. This time around I got a safety 1st onboard 35 air bc my last baby was 22inches long at birth and by 5/6 months old she was too tall for her carrier and this one is made to accommodate a taller baby and goes up to 35 lbs. I also really like all the safety features and the material is super soft and comfy not nylon like most others. Go online and look up consumer reports on them if you can't decide.
Avatar f tn t know why, but I am having a lot of trouble finding one that I like! Everytime I find one that I like and I go home to read consumer reviews on it, they are negative. So, I am now terrified of purchasing a crib and having it turn out to be "cheap". Any insight on good brands would be wonderful... because as of tonight, I am thinking that I am going to have her just sleep on the floor!! I'm about to give up my search!
Avatar f tn Consumer reports came out with an article today encouraging pregnant women to avoid all tuna.
Avatar f tn Not surprisingly, the broadcast triggered an avalanche of queries to dentists and induced many viewers seek replacement of their fillings with other materials. Consumer Reports, American Health, Prevention, and many health newsletters reassured their readers that amalgam is safe. But the program's damage cannot be undone.
Avatar f tn When we discussed prenatal testing before, you asked how reliable it is, and I said it totally depends on who you use, and suggested you look up consumer reviews on the lab you intend to use, suggested you should test with both guys, and cautioned that women who test with only one guy will often write in and ask, "What if the test is wrong?" You didn't use those words but you are worrying about accuracy.

Avatar n tn read the label for active ingredience and any side affects, run it by your MD if you have one, if you don't research the product on the internet as much as you can on sites like 'consumer reports' and google the product name and add 'in the news' at the end.
Avatar f tn in reviews in major scientific journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine and the Lancet; and, by Consumer Reports. If you have a sleep center in your area, they may offer CBT. However, many sleep clinics don't offer CBT because they are directed by physicians who specialize in sleep apnea (see Dr. Park’s forum on sleep-related breathing disorders for a description of sleep apnea). For that reason, CBT is becoming increasingly available online in interactive format.

Avatar m tn I've searched the web and here and no really good answer. I'm taking a Sonata about 3 or 4 oclock in the morning. It does cause some jitters next day. Now I've started Sam-e and a Super Beta Complex and the Jitters are unbearable. I take some Xanax and it helps some. I can't take much and still function. The question is ... Is it the Sam-e or the Super B Complex causing the extreme jitters or anxiety?
Avatar f tn I added some stuff in the store but the majority of it, I did on the net.. I got the consumer reports on baby products and read the reviews on the babies r us web page. After my shower I went to babies r us and bought everything on my registry that somebody didn't already buy for me... since then I have been scolded by people who wanted to buy me something, but I just tell them.. "hey you've had 8 months to do that..
Avatar n tn D congrats!!
