hysterectomy

1352348 tn?1315550254 I was diagnosed with periomenopause when I was in my mid thirties (42 now)...I haven't had a period for over eight months now. I also was send for hormone testing that showed no results. I am lucky that mine was just a slow down to the point of not happening instead of the massive bleeding and pain that others have experienced. Never had a chance to have children...the opportunity was gone before it really registered what was happening.
Avatar n tn I have had pelvic injuries that have left me severley bruised at age 10, then age 21, then again in my early thirties. I am now 53 years old. My gyn. informed my family and I it was impossible to remove my ovaries due to enormous amounts of scar tissue. Due to my type of insurance it is difficult for me to get a gyn to accept me as a patient. The only thing I would like is a check under the hood to make sure my pain is not due to cysts or possibly something worse.
Avatar f tn The prevalence of hysterectomy makes us think it is a benign surgery but it is destructive in many ways (if you do not have cancer) and more so when the ovaries are removed since the ovaries of intact women produce hormones into their 80's for optimal health / normal aging. Medical studies clearly show the harm of ovary removal or post-hysterectomy ovarian failure. Hysterectomy changes the figure too as well as other things (such as bladder, bowel, and sexual function).

Avatar n tn My mother has metastatic colon cancer and in her mid-thirties was diagnosed with uterine cancer and had a complete hysterectomy. I am being told that this raises my risk of ovarian cancer IF my mother has the MLH1 or MSH2 gene (along with other cancers like stomach, kidney/urinary tract, brain, biliary tract, and small bowel). I am going to talk with her and ask if she will be tested.
Avatar n tn I am a male in mid thirties and on self examination i am feeilng a small lump in the head of my penis. I am experiencing pain when urinating as the urine flow is dimished upon exiting. I think the lump is the possible cause. I have visited the doctor twice and he has prescribed anti-biotics on both visits. Please help, I am very concerned and troubled. ----------Thank you.
Avatar f tn So, this is my 2nd pregnancy, im only 6 weeks in but I feel much bigger than with my first. To the point where I swear ive doubled in size in the last week. I had an early ultrasound due to concerns of cramping but all came back normal. 1 yolk sac but obviously because it's still very early they were not able to determine if more than 1 fetus was present. A.) Normal to feel much bigger with subsequent pregnancies? B.) Is doubling in size any true indicator of multiples?
Avatar m tn Being a convicted felon makes it easier said than done to change careers. Eliminating stress in your life can help, and I would start with your lazy brother, I know this is hard but he needs to stand on his own two feet and stop being a burden on his sick brother! Can you request a less labor intensive position with your company? You've done this type of work long enough that maybe you could get into a supervisory position, worth asking about.
178345 tn?1242536246 As you all know I had a full hysterectomy in May 07..well today I was shopping with my younger daughter and I started feeling a tight crampy feeling in my lower pelvis area. this was 6 hours ago and I am still feeling it,,it feels like a muscle spasm or something. It hurts more when I walk than when I sit. I am so uncomfortable. what could this be? Should I be worried? Please let me know.
Avatar f tn I'm trying to decide on the best option for long term birth control. I'm in my mid thirties, family is complete. Husband is too scared to have a vasectomy (lol), so it's sort of on me to decide what to use. I've used the pill in the past, but didn't really like it. I'd forget to take it a lot and it often made me nauseous, even on a low dose. What do others recommen?
Avatar n tn Bless you heart, I know how you are feeling as I went through a complete hysterectomy in 1991. No matter what the circumstances it is not an easy surgery. It doesn't surprise me that you are having these pains as the entire area is close to each other. That being said, I would definitely call your Doctor and let them know what you are experiencing and ask them if this is what you should be expecting.
Avatar f tn Finally in June of 2006, I had a complete hysterectomy. I was still in pain and in october of that same year, I start bleeding again. I had to be rushed to the hotspital where I had an emergency surgery take out the rest of something that was left inside of me. The dr promised me that everythiIng was removed and I was going to be fine. Well the pain continued after the surgery, and I could not go the bathroom. Now I had another problem. I suffered for 10 months.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled for a hysterectomy in the next 2 weeks after 6 months post ablation and left ovary and tube removal. I will now be losing my right ovary and uterus. The Dr said she will attempt to do it laparoscopic but may have to open my stomach like a c section. Has anyone ever had a hysterectomy that started out laparoscopic then went to abdominal? Do you have any advice for recovery ? Tips? Heads up?
1149921 tn?1297559913 You can start menopause in your 30's, that's true. But if your having a fibroid removed you will not have any menopausal symptoms from that. They are not removing any reproductive organs. There are treatments for fibroids so it does not always lead to a hysterectomy. If you were to have a hysterectomy then yes, you would probably have menopause symptoms. There is hormone therapy to help with that though. Find out what your ultrasound results are and do research.
Avatar f tn How can my cancer travel to the uterus without passing through the tubes? Is it ovarian cancer or uterine? I am scheduled for a hysterectomy next week and my doctor says only the second biopsy would tell. Anyone else who has seen this before? I really want to keep my system - I am 30.
Avatar m tn I am an adult male in my mid-thirties. For at least five years I have had a persistent muscle twitch in my left calf. I am unsure as to the exact origin of the problem, but about seven years ago I suffered from a bout of sciatica, again in my left leg. I am reasonably fit (I ran a marathon about eleven years ago which might be the root of all these problems!) and still exercise (running and swimming) quite regularly depending on time and motivation.
Avatar n tn i have no doubt it has played a part in this lupus **** with me. Anyway, I remember my memory getting a little bad back in my thirties and I think the premerin is the cause. Uggg I am having such a choking feeling tonight I can barely stand it. I ate a few doritoes and I could barely get them down. Earlier today and yesterday I was better. I can't figure this out. I hope to have an answer from the ultrasound tomorrow or Tuesday. Take care my friend and let me know how you are.
Avatar m tn I am a 58 year old who has suffered from ED for approximately 20 years. My question is somewhat complex. Post puberty I had occasion episodes of a tearing pain from my belly button through my penis. It lasted several seconds an this occurred from about age 14 through my mid thirties. Doctors told me there was no connection and it should go away. Soon after the events began to subside my ability to perform sexually began to fade.
404304 tn?1201709677 I have a serious question, and would like an answer. I had a hysterectomy Feb 19, 2008. During my healing I kept feeling jabs inside, and didn't take pain meds until it started getting painful. I had an allergic reaction to motrin. I went to my Doctor for follow up and told her about my pain, she said don't take motrin. She cleared me for intercourse. My husband and I had intercourse and he said he felt needles in me. I called the Doctor and they played it off.
Avatar f tn I am so sorry to hear that. Please check with your doctor to see if you have depression. Ave if you do, there are medications and/or counseling that can help you. Also, keep an eye out for PPD and educate people around you about it as well. Pregnancy is hard enough to begin with. Doing it in your late thirties is even harder I think because you do not have the same amount of energy you had in your twenties, or even in the early thirties. So don't beat yourself up.
Avatar n tn The advice still stands. Your friend needs more help than he's getting. Keep digging looking for answers.
