A three pound Yorkie is EXTREMELY small. Look at it this way, the difference between a four pound Yorkie and a three pound Yorkie is the same as the difference between a person who weighs 100 pounds and a person who weighs 75 pounds! When it comes to being able to carry a litter of puppies and deliver them safely, that one pound makes a BIG difference!
Ok so, I'm almost positive my toy yorkie, or teacup yorkie, if that's the correct term, is pregnant by a weiner dog mix. He is much bigger than her, she's only about 5 pounds if that. I don't really have the money to take her to the vet, but i will if I have to. I have Heard that smaller Dogs like her have a hard time carrying puppies from bigger Dogs and that it can kill them if the puppies are too large for her to carry.
I believe my Yorkie is pregnant by a much larger dog. Like what would be considered a medium to large size dog. I am afraid that letting her have the puppies will kill her. Any help? I plan on calling the vet as soon as possible. Can they terminate the pregnancy? I've been told that a dog that large couldn't get the Yorkie pregnant but I'm almost positive she is and there are no small dogs in the area as we live in a rural area.
hi looks like your yorkie wants checking out 2 days without food and drink not right something going on doesent mean your yorkie is serious ill iv had yorkshire terrier for 17 yrs you dident say how old is your dog,anyway hope everything gets sorted out with your dog ..good luck let us know how yorkie is doing.
My yorkie, which is about 13 weeks old has been having a facial tic, almost similar to that of somebody with turrets. Tonight he did that and fell over for a second. I am really worried that this could be something neurological. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
t stand a chance right from the start. It is not uncommon at ALL for puppies from these types of places to have numerous health problems, and it is all too common for them to die, or to have to be put to sleep due to the severity of their illnesses.
You had said that the second puppy hadn't been eating. Was she a Yorkie also? If so, Yorkies are EXTREMELY tiny puppies, and not eating for even one day could cause a drop in blood sugar.
Okay uhm Ruger is my girlfriends dog he's a Yorkie and he's been vommiting for the past two nights and a little bit in the day. He's also experiencing very little diarrhea not too serious but still worrying us he has eatin a good bit today and yesterday he pretty much eats when he wants but we're going to watch how much he eats tomorrow and see if that makes a difference please help me find out what's wrong with our dog.?

My yorkie is 1 yr and 4 months old. She is pretending she has puppies. She took 2 of her stuffed toys and hid them in her bed. She won't leave them and if the cat or our other dog goes near them she attacks them. She is even licking them and moves them around by picking them up by the back of their necks. It's so cute but very strange. Why is she acting like she has a litter of puppies?

Take him to vet immediately. An old friend of mine has a 2 lb yorkie that wasnt supposed to live, and yet she still has her. She has the hypoglycemia. She also wouldnt eat and they had to give her baby formula in a syringe and pedialyte. She is also on viagra...believe it or not!
If you are trying to housebreak or pee pad train your puppy, it will help you to know that there are 3 times, when you should bring your pup outside, or to the pee pad...Puppies always pee..after they wake up...after they play..and after they eat. And, many times, puppies will pee twice each time. (After they pee the first time, be prepared, they may pee again in 5 or 10 minutes ) When the puppy pees where you want her to....give her lots of hugs and praise, or a reward..
well after much debating in the kitty room my mom wondered off to the puppy/dog area. we were watching the puppies play and there was this little black fur ball sitting in the corner all by himself. he was VERY shy and scared (which he's not shy with the family but is a TOTAL scardy cat!). of course we decided on the little odd ball sitting by himself. that was 10 months ago and now our little fur ball is a big beautiful 1 year old ....mutt of some sort.

Sometimes puppies can really sleep hard,But from the way she was acting a few days ago it sounds like she may be having some neuro problems or maybe her blood sugar was really low.If it is her sugar then they usually out grow that.If she acts odd like that again then you could try giving her some Caro syrup and that helps get ther blood sugar back up again.Alot of times with Hypoglycemia they can do what you said she was doing.What breed is she and how old?
If you let it go any longer without taking it to a vet chances are very good you are going to lose your puppy since it will start to have seizures from a combination of dehydration from not drinking and hypoglycemia from a blood sugar crash due to not eating. Very tiny puppies like that must eat several times a day to maintain their blood sugar.
Your mind will be relieved, and your money for the vet visit was well spent. Personally, I always take my new puppies for a health check, even if they seem fine.
I have an older Yorkie. very sensitive skin..lately extremely bad flea prob. I use dawn dish soap, instant flea killer.
I know bathing Maddie, my Yorkie, frequent is not good. I have no other thoughts about giving her relief from fleas.
her skin has become bright red, past irritated, blotchy? and there's sore type things. looks like weird ant bites & recently noticed a dime size hard white mass, idk what to call it, on her front paw.
I possibly can def be over thinking these issues.
I have a 9 month old 1/2 maltese 1/2 yorkie puppy. She is very lively. Yesterday she started to where she does not want to play with anyone or anything. All she wants to do is lay there. She only wants to drink water and not eat. I can't afford to bring her to a vet. Can you please help me?
