Avatar n tn ll be saving money in the long run as Radiesse and other dermal fillers only last maybe one year at a cost around $800 a visit. Please, if you have experience with ArteFill I would be interested in knowing your opinion (as you have helped me in the past), thank you.

Avatar m tn Because you are asking about hyaluronic acid, and because of the recent addition of GAG's to pharmacy shelves, I think it's important to address a few points about the uses of these compounds therapeutically. On the up side, hyaluronic acid is the same from whatever source it is isolated, and it is so common in the body that it can be used as a hypoallergenic surgical material for reconstructing and building up tissues that are lost.
Avatar n tn Genigel, the new treatment, contains hyaluronic acid - a sub-stance found in the connective tissues of the body. When applied to gums, it provides a sticky film in which new cells and blood vessels can grow." "A week later, the teeth began to firm up. A month later, I could chew on them. The gel has actually made my gums grow back, which is something no amount of brushing or anti-bacterial mouthwashes could ever do.
Avatar m tn Could it cause vision problems, I have seen that the main ingredient of restylane is Hyaluronic acid, I have found a topical cream that is 75% hyaluronic acid, I know this wont work as well but do you think this is an option or not even worth spending hte money on the cream. Avatar m tn I heard there is a new device that is FDA approved for use for dermal fillers that decreases pain and bruising. This blunt tip cannula is used instead of a sharp needle to administer the filler, and it has been used in Europe for a while now. Its is now available to doctors in the US. I was told the best part is that it won't tear the facial tissues, as a sharp needle can and it decreases pain and bruising. Has anyone had their fillers done with the Dermasculpt (brand name)?
Avatar m tn Hello, It looks like the loss of elasticity of lips can be due to the effect of cold sores causing scarring. In such cases dermal fillers are useful. However filler injections may cause the cold sores to break out again. In these cases, it is recommended that you take an anti-herpes medicine before treatment to help reduce the likelihood of an outbreak of cold sores.
Avatar f tn Hi, 'Laser treatment for melasma - A Wood's lamp test should be used to determine whether the melasma is epidermal or dermal. If the melasma is dermal, laser (or "IPL") will acually DARKEN and worsen the appearance of the spots. Dermal melasma is generally unresponsive to most treaments, and has only been found to lighten with products containing mandelic acid. In all treatments for melasma the effects are gradual and a strict avoidance of sunlight is required.

Avatar m tn Hi, I was hooked on numerous opiates, with tramadol being one of my lesser used ones-but I would use it if I had no alternatives. I have had a lot of issues with constipation. And when I could finally go I would sometimes have blood or like a mucous looking substance. I think it's from the constipation factor of the pills.

Also with certain fillers you will get that even look which you may not from a fat transfer. May i ask how you would go about reversing the fat thats been transfered if you are not satisfied with it?

Avatar f tn Hi, I am interested in getting my chicken pox scars. I have had them for well over eight years now. I was considering using excisions to get them removed. I have heard about using lasers and fillers but I don't understand how treatment that is superficial on the skin could repair the scars that run deep into the tissues of the skin. The chicken pox scars are more like depressions or indents in the skin. Any advice or help would be appreciated.
