Magnesium is needed to relax muscles and for hyaluronic acid synthesis which is used to lubricate joints. Glad i know this because i'd be going through a zillion tests with no diagnosis. Give magnesium supplements a try. Could be the simple answer. :)

This has been treated with ultrasound, condroitin sulphate pills for three months, anti-inflammatory drugs on and off, and an insole. The pain when I walk is still there and at times intense. I have two questions:
1. Several physicians have propose hyaluronic acid or cortisone injections. Which is recommended?
2. One physician offered to perform a chondral transplant, consisting in taking fresh chartilage from my knee and implanting it in the toe, with arthroscopic surgery.
After a couple of ACL surgeries over the years due to sports injuries and regular knee pain ever since when exercising, descending stairs etc., I was looking into the option of a combined hyaluronic acid/PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection - about which I'd heard great things - until I realised I didn't want to take the risk after the two half-botched operations I'd had done years ago. So I decided to simply take hyaluronic acid orally on the off-chance, and have had no pain since.

I'm virtually certain I don't have the rheumatoid(arthritis) One could develop/get it anytime(as I recall), & even osteo from rheumatoid, I suppose. I have seen that the main ingredient of restylane is Hyaluronic acid, I have found a topical cream that is 75% hyaluronic acid, I know this wont work as well but do you think this is an option or not even worth spending hte money on the cream.

/ I knew my condition was bad b/c of the amount of pain I am in but wasn't expecting that especially @ 32 with a 4 yr old and 7 month old!! Anyways, he adviced pain meds and synvisc-one injections until we couldn't control the pain enough. I tried the injections. I won't lie the are a bit painful. My right one was just uncomfortable. The left one hurt way worse. I have no idea why but it even swelled up and I had to stay off it about 24 hours b/c of all the fluid on it.
is the left knee, and a recent accident disclosed a torn cartilage and arthritis in the left knee (and some swelling behind the knee.....no pain, just swollen). One injection of Cartisone and 1 weekly injection of Hyaluronic Acid for 3 weeks brought some relief, but very little.
I read about Castor Oil Packs and within 1 hour, I eliminated the swelling (had been swollen for almost 4 months) and daily treatments of COP has eliminated 95% of all discomfort....
You might be talking about hyaluronic acid. That's what comes up in a google search. It is used to aid reduction of inflammation and as a joint lubricant. I used it for horses 20 years ago, and it was the successful use in sport horses that prompted its use in people.
I think whether or not it's helpful depends on too many factors for anyone to advise you over the internet. Ask his doctor if hyaluronic acid will help.

I am 46 yrs old, male, ex-athlete (competitive level basketball) and live in London, England. A year ago I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis on my left hip during an arthroscopy and most of the joint cartilage is worn out. Take glucosamine tablets regularly. Even though my condition is not so advanced to take painkillers etc, I cannot do any sport, which is important to me (even at a light, amateur level) and walking start bothering me after a few hundered meters.
Hello, I went to the doctor to have a filler injected into the eyes dark circles area, the syringe with the gel (hyaluronic acid) was not new, I know because he took it out of a box but the blister was not sealed, I also saw that the gel in the syringe was not completely full, I saw that he took a needle with a cover from the blister, so I think the needle was new, and he placed it on the tip of the syringe with gel, I am worried that the gel (hyaluronic acid) has been contaminated with the bloo
I have not heard anything about a new procedure but I did hear that there is a new pain medication called Nucynta (Tapentadol) which is a mu-opiod agonist analgesic. It is structurally similar to Tramadol.
im 14 and ever since i fell about a year ago i began having real bad knee pain it started in my right knee, it was relly bad & i couldnt walk w/o crutches and a knee brace for about a week. then the pain went away for a while about 4 1/2 months and now its come back but this time on my left knee. i dont know if this has anything to do with my injury, it also could be my weight even though it shouldnt because im not too overweight just average.
They found severe osteoarthritis, a sprained neck, fractured nose, and I had a torn meniscus in my knee among other injuries. My lower back and muscles are all inflamed. It's so hard to cope. I have doxy 50mg, as I can't tolerate 100mg at once. I'm thinking of giving it a try. Are you still taking the doxy? Thanks and I hope you're doing well.
