humira shots

now need to decide on a medication and have been giving the chose between the infusion and giving myself shots. My doctors seems to be leaning toward Humira shots. The idea of giving myself shots for the rest of my life is very overwhelming. My mother gives herself shots, and wants the infusion, but cannot because she would have to change medicines and her Embrel is working so the Dr. wont switch her. Does anybody have any insight to which is better.

I was on Azathioprine, Canasa, and a taper of Prednisone with no relief. Just started Humira yesterday. Four shots to the stomach....ouch! Today along with my flare symptoms (lots of bleeding, constipation, bloating, abdominal pain, fatigue, dry mouth, occasional nausea) I have the chills with a very low grade fever and my fatigue is worse than normal. Is this normal after starting Humira? What do others do to manage all of these symptoms?

I'm February 2015 I had to restart Humira injections after not being on them for almost a year. I was also put on 40mg/day of prednisone. March 6, I woke up to excruciating pain in legs from the hips down. I tried to take a step and it felt like I was walking on broken bones through molasses. I made it to my bathroom but then no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get up off the toilet.

I have had 5 shots of humira and after the fisrt shot I felt like a scaitica but didn't think it was the now I can fell it go down my left leg, both calves tignly and i feel it in my neck also like spams, is this from teh humira? I called my dr and she idd not seem concerned? it has done wonders for my RA not at this cost. my finger tips fell tingly my clafs there is a pain in my butt that runs down my leg.

I just started Humira (2 shots so far) and have had a worsening of symptoms since the first shot. My hands/feet have become swollen and my joints hurt more than before I started taking the Humira. I also have systemic vasculitis (Churg-Strauss Syndrome) and am on Cytoxan and Prednisone, but I have been taking both for more than a year and know the side-effects from each.

I have had two shots of Humira, I constantly have sinus issues, pain pressure, teeth hurt and hedaches. I got them on enbrel and after 9 years it quit working, so tired remicade but after 4 infusions I had such a bad insus probelm I quit it also raised my blood pressrue a lot. I don't seem to be able to handle hard core antibidoics so I can take zpack, and it helps, but I always seem to be back on it alteast every two months.

he thinks that i will get some help from humira and i am to start that this week. i have done searches but only find info on humira induced lupus, nothing about treating lupus with humira. is anyone on here taking humira for lupus? any advise would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!

I just got my first shot of Humira for my suspected psoriatic arthritus yesterday (i realize this is in RA, but there's no other section), and I had a quesiton. For those of you that take it or have knowledge about it, I know that it lowers your white blood count. People in my house are sick quite a bit during the year, so other than screenings (which I obviously will be getting), how do I protect myself? Supplements? Immune-boosting foods?

What a tricky disease to treat - she got tired of the shots and decided to stop them (plus they are expensive!) but after just a few days she changed her mind because the PA got worse very fast. that increase in lesions would concern me but I'm not the doctor. I hope your next MRI gives them some answers to help.

I have been treated for rheumatoid arthritis with Humira for 7 months including a combination of Humira and methotrexate for the past 2 months. I also take 5mg of prednisone, and 6 Azulfadine tablets each day. I was taking Humira once every fourteen days and I am on 15mg of methotrexate a week. About a month ago, I started experiencing numbness in my toes and feet. I mentioned it to my rheumatologist but she wasn't concerned and simply told me it wasn't rheumatoid arthritis.

It hurt to move, finally after so many new medications not helping my doctor put me on Humira. It has helped so much, after my first four shots I could start to feel it working in first hour!. my inflimation tumors went down in size the very next day, they are gone now.. Only thing humira does to me is when I take the shot, Im usaully pretty tired for a few days, but id rather be tired then in pain!!. if anybody would like you can email me for details, Breanna_dalton***@****.

Anyone taking humira and feel like they are sick coming down with a cold for a week after injection? Not a full blown cold but the start of one. I feel like this always and this is my 3rd dosage ( counting the starter kit), so I'm new to humira. I've noticed if I'm stressed, I'll even get a sore throat. I know humira suppresses your immune system but are you supposed to feel like you're coming down with something every injection or will this go away with time?

I've just had my 2nd injection of Humira today (on 20mg, 2x month). Both times I've had no energy and felt bad for about 12 hours after the injection. Anyone else have this type of reaction to the injection?

Of course it seems a lot of folks have the same questions you do after reading humira info online - found a lot of questions asking if humira causes herpes. If you already have herpes simplex, either orally or genitally, it could cause it to reactivate. Most people never get tested for herpes to know that they have it.

I had the Hepatitis B shots back in the early 90's . My job reqiures that I provide them with the records but with the records being so old they cannot be found. My question is can I retake the shots without any side affects?

Hi monicaroni, I have been taking Humira almost 8 months. I take humira for Crohns Althougth reap the benefit for the AS. I am thinking that you probably had a concurrent infection brewing when you Started Humira. Good Luck managing your AS, I appreciate how difficult it can be with mobility issues, and treating pain.

My husband missed his dose of Humira by 24 hours a week ago. He is now vomiting regularly like he did prior to his diagnosis. Is this normal with a missed dose? He has been on Humira since September.

Naproxen, Vioxx, Celebrex, Diclofenac, Mobic, Sulfasalazine, Plaquenil, Clinoril, Lodine, Methotrexate, Neurontin, Methilprednisolone, Prednisone, HUMIRA injections. (These are the ones I remember). My current regimen is Humira 1wk., Leflunomide 1day and tapering off of Prednisone. But guess what?? I'm still in a lot of pain in my L/elbow and some pain in R/hand and wrist. I have come to doubt I actually have RA. Perhaps I have some weird unknow disease not known to the medical community.

Well, narcotics work wonderfully for the pain, however you can't live life being on narcotics all the time. How would you work/drive/care for your children if your head is clouded by narcotics? I was like you - I had awful pain, started Humira and within a few months felt completely better. I am still on Humira and haven't had any flare ups (fingers crossed so that I don't jinx it) for two years.

Any body else taking humira? I have Ulcerative colitis and thats the meds they put me on. My condition is pretty bad because all three of my doctors told me not to come off the meds. That it could cause problems and early delivery. Any one?

Llama a tu médico y consulta con él/ella o la enfermera si es normal que te siga doliendo.. cuanto antes lo consultes mejor y es normal que les llame para algo así. Si hay una reacción, lo sabrán y si es normal te tranquilizará que te lo digan.

I was diagnosed with Crohn's 9 years ago. I have been taking Asacol (5-ASA) and Imuran (Azathioprine). Last february I was hospitalized for the first time and was put on prednisone. I am still on prednisone and my body won't let me get off of it. My doctor wants me to start Humira, but I am scared. I don't like reading about the side effects and things that can happen when on that drug. Does anyone have any experience with this drug (Humira)? I would really appreciate it.
