My husband uses the Humira pen, too, and he says that taking it out of the fridge for a while before injecting helps to make it not hurt as much. He usually lets it sit out for about 20 minutes, and during this time, he puts an ice pack on his leg to numb the area where he is going to do the injection.

i stopped the arava, took cholestyramine to get it out of my system. rash went away. still taking humira. no more rash, so that's good, but i'm not sure where these twitches are coming from. they started about three weeks ago. i'm so sorry you've been having this reaction. sounds like you've had quite a history. i wish you the best. hang in there.

I just started Humira (2 shots so far) and have had a worsening of symptoms since the first shot. My hands/feet have become swollen and my joints hurt more than before I started taking the Humira. I also have systemic vasculitis (Churg-Strauss Syndrome) and am on Cytoxan and Prednisone, but I have been taking both for more than a year and know the side-effects from each.

I now wonder what would have happened if she had pulled me off of the Humira at my first mention of symptoms instead of letting me take another month's worth of shots. My question, after all of my rambling, is if my problem is caused by the Humira and it is just MS like symptoms, what is the likelihood they will go away? Are there any steps I can take to help them go away? Because I haven't been to work in about 4 days now.

My husband missed his dose of Humira by 24 hours a week ago. He is now vomiting regularly like he did prior to his diagnosis. Is this normal with a missed dose? He has been on Humira since September.

Have read that some people have found the automatic self injection thingie painful, although the manufacturer pack said the medication should be administered within 15 minutes of removal from the fridge, the Humira nurse said to take it out 20 mins before use, and I was pleasantly surprised at how painless using it was.

I have had 5 shots of humira and after the fisrt shot I felt like a scaitica but didn't think it was the now I can fell it go down my left leg, both calves tignly and i feel it in my neck also like spams, is this from teh humira? I called my dr and she idd not seem concerned? it has done wonders for my RA not at this cost. my finger tips fell tingly my clafs there is a pain in my butt that runs down my leg.

Lulu--I used to take humira, which is a TNF inhibitor like Enbrel. One of the rare side effects of both humira and enbrel is the development of MS or MS-like symptoms. I didn't pay enough attention to the warning because it seemed so remote and happened so rarely. However, it happened to me. If what I have is MS, the doctor isn't sure whether the humira caused it, or if I would've gotten MS anyway, but the humira hurried the process along.

Result was vasculitis. Now that I am having another episode of weakness on the left side my Rhumy has requested for another Brain and neck scan. I have had a neck scan done in 2013 to which they found that i had c4,5,6 damaged had a cervical op done. I am not saying I have or thinking MS just thought someone could help me figure out whats happening. Just feel lost.

Hi monicaroni, I have been taking Humira almost 8 months. I take humira for Crohns Althougth reap the benefit for the AS. I am thinking that you probably had a concurrent infection brewing when you Started Humira. Good Luck managing your AS, I appreciate how difficult it can be with mobility issues, and treating pain.

hello.i don't know if there is someone out there with almost the same issues that i have.i take 2 kinds of morphine,depression pills,humira shots,i'm just a walking pharmacy.how do you deal with your pain, cause i'm tired of it.?

I had an episode where I gave myself a shot of Humira in my stomach and ten mins later did not feel well. I felt very sick which traveled up my left arm into the side of my head and pain into the left temple into my eye which started twitching. The numbness has really never left except to say that it feels asleep and waking up. The eye twitching has gotten better but it's a twitching that circles the entire left eye.

They put me on pain meds through IV nearly cut the pain. Took chest X-ray, another ultra sound of the left side more towards middle now and blood work all normal. Set me home with pain patch and follow up with surgeon. So I did he set me for an MRI no contrast of abdominal and pelvic area showed nothing. I swear this is pancreatitis since it can't be gallbladder cause it's removed. This is acting just like my gallbladder did. But everyday I am in more more pain on that side.

I evacuated before the storm came and only took a 2 wks supply of my injections. I left most of my meds (2 pegasys, and like 8 neupogen) at home in the fridge beause i didn't want to take all my meds and have them spoiled just in case i get delayed on the road. hey out there! i have had crohns for 10 years now. i just started humira yesterday. anyway, what do all of you do for pain management. narcotics are the only thing that kills the pain, but i don't know if thats the right course to go.. if anyone could tell me what they do, or what kind of narcotics work best for crohns, or if i have to live with this pain.

I was diagnosed with Crohn's 9 years ago. I have been taking Asacol (5-ASA) and Imuran (Azathioprine). Last february I was hospitalized for the first time and was put on prednisone. I am still on prednisone and my body won't let me get off of it. My doctor wants me to start Humira, but I am scared. I don't like reading about the side effects and things that can happen when on that drug. Does anyone have any experience with this drug (Humira)? I would really appreciate it.
