I skipped a week of Humira under Dr advice incase I was fighting a sinus infection. Symptoms got better. Then I started back on my Humira last night and my teeth are killing me again. If I take DayQuil and NyQuil everyday, my sinuses feel better but its been some weeks now that I'll get a horrible sinus headache without cold medicine. Laying down or sleeping on my stomache makes it worse.
I want to talk to my rheumatologist about maybe going to every other week shots instead of every week.
statistically 1 out of every 2-3 of us has hsv1 and 1 out of every 4-5 has hsv2 - a lot of folks who take humira, are already going to have herpes whether they know it or not! Of course you also can contract herpes simplex, either orally or genitally, while taking humira too.
It also can cause shingles to occur - you'd have to have had chicken pox in the past before starting humira in order to have a shingles reactivation.
13 years ago I was diagnosed with genital herpes which I contracted from my now ex. I married 8 years ago to a good man with a bad case of Psoriasis. I have ankylosing spondylitis and just had my first Humira shot 2 days ago. Today I woke up feeling very achy, my nose is stuffy and my throat is scratchy. I don't know if it's allergies, an infection, or a side effect from the Humira. Has anyone else had this happen shortly after starting this drug? I am planning to call my doctor on Monday but just trying to figure out what's going on.

I have been treated for rheumatoid arthritis with Humira for 7 months including a combination of Humira and methotrexate for the past 2 months. I also take 5mg of prednisone, and 6 Azulfadine tablets each day. I was taking Humira once every fourteen days and I am on 15mg of methotrexate a week. About a month ago, I started experiencing numbness in my toes and feet. I mentioned it to my rheumatologist but she wasn't concerned and simply told me it wasn't rheumatoid arthritis.

I had my gallbladder out two years ago and felt awesome since even went down in humira dosage. My husband and I had issues getting pregnant so we did IVF and sure enough it worked! Got positive confirmation in July 2013 and stopped humira that month. Symptoms started August 23 2013. It started off like acid reflux which they said was normal due to pregnancy take lots of tums and GI doc put me on extra strength omperzole. I got no relief!!
At first Humira worked completely, but for the last 3 month I now have got again explosive Diarrhoea and bleeding. I spent a minimum of 10 times running to the toilet a day, and get anxious going out and that causes stress and then more flare ups.
I had a SeHCAT Scan for suspected bile acid malabsorption which I have not got and is not my cause for my Diarrhoea.
I also take 60mg and 16mg Loperamide a day but Diarrhoea will not stop, only with Prednisolone Steroids.
I feel tired a lot and I have tenderness under my armpits and around groin that comes and goes. Ive had some red spots on my arms and legs know my neck is starting to feel sore. Negative Rna Pcr quantative test at week 5. negative antibody at week 5. Negative AG/AB 4th generation at week 7. Negative rapid POC antibody at week 9.
s and am now 24. I am currently going through a horrible flare and am on Humira now. I took Remicade to calm down my last flare and it worked wonders when nothing else would. It put me into remission and allowed my body to heal itself. It does lower your immune system, so you can get sick more easily. If you wash your hands and take care of yourself, this shouldnt even be an issue. I would recomend it. It made me feel normal again.

Humira and other medications used to treat autoimmune forms of arthritis do weaken your immune system. Your doctor should have given you a flu shot and pneumonia shot before starting you on this medication. Things you can do to reduce the chances of getting sick are fairly standard, wash your hands frequently, eat right, get plenty of sleep and try to reduce yor exposure.
To my knowledge, there have been no published studies on the effect of Humira or similar drugs (cytokine inhibitors) on either the severity of HSV outbreaks or other aspects of the natural course of infection. It would not be surprising if recurrences and/or asymptomatic shedding were more frequent than otherwise.
I'm 33 and have psoriatic arthritis and was recently started on Humira. Within a day of starting I had pain in my fingers, toes, shines and forearms (none of which I had before). Has anyone else experienced new joint pain after starting Humira?
I've been on Humira for about 6 months and I have been messing with my injection times a lot over the past couple months. Humira is the only thing that keeps me going, but I have to do it weekly.
I noticed when I missed my dose, when I was doing it bimonthly, my symptoms would just keep getting worse.
We did a few psychological tests to see if my symptoms were coming back due to an emotional connection. That was quickly proven otherwise as I started to vomit and have bloody stool.

I have been running myself around in circles over this for days and still haven't come to a decision, so I'm going to put this out there for more thoughts.
I had my first flare up with Crohn's back in July 2011. I was diagnosed in Sept 2011 and went on Humira in Jan 2012 after the side effects of other medications were deemed worse than the disease.
Around May 2015, I developed three abscesses (perianal), one right after the other.
