I had this problem, but the vasospasm was caused by a cath procedure. The Cardiologist put me onto calcium channel blockers which stopped the spasms and after a few weeks he took me off the medication. I've been fine since then. They had to do this because I can't tolerate nitrates.
I was seldom bothered by acid reflux or "heart burn" until I went in for an angioplasty which resulted in a heart attack. On leaving the hospital, I was given a prescription for Prilosec for acid reflux among my other prescriptions. This seemed strange that I would be given this med automatically, without my having complained about anything. But when I didn't take it, I suffered something awful.
My 54 year old "healthy" husband received a stent yesterday due to a 99% LAD blockage! He is the typical type A personality and this only adds to his already stress overload. The sublingual nitroglycerin seems to work to relieve the pain/pressure when it occurs but I am still conerned over the shortness of breath and fatigue along with a low temperature..95 and widely varying resting heart rate... 46 to 78 and widely variable resting blood pressure 148/98 to 102/70 thirty minutes later. What further testing, if any, would you suggest?

I'm a Raynaud's Phenomen patients who has the CREST syndrome and i use the nitroglycerin patches to control my raynaud's. Can you tell me if the patches used in this way would cause your acid reflux to be worse. When i took the lowest dose of nitroglycerin patches 0.1 didn't notice any but had to move up and now i do. Will this be something that my body may take an adjustment period for before i notice a different of not having symptoms again?
Depending on how long the spasm last, one can have a heart attack related to it. This is why patients with this condition should always carry nitroglycerin with them at all times.
It's difficult to say without seeing the ECG and having complete history and exams.
The ecg numbers are mostly normal except for the heart rate of 126. Given that you have a PR interval that the machine can pick up, i would say its probably not Atrial fibrillation or some other SVT. Sinus tachycardia >100bpm especially prolonged is pathological unless you are being stressed (ex. exercising).
I'm concerned for pulmonary embolism given chest pain, shortness of breath and HR 126bpm.
i'm new to this forum but i do have CREST SYNDROME which i have the raynaud's mainly in my hands. I have tried all kinds of blood pressure pills and when i move up on dose to help it causes more raynauds. I finally was put on nitroglycerin patches and had to be moved up once and now i'm adding ginko to my dose and i have finally saw a change. Not a perfect fix yet but much better. I also take fish oil twice a day for the inflamation.
