ENT said I had some colonies in nose soUsed Bacrtoban for 3 days and slight pain in my nose went away per ENT. I stopped the bactroban after 3 days because I was not sleeping but I was also using Nasocort and maybe that was the culprit. Cold gone sinus not infected but having some pain that feels like a tooth ache and slight tickle or sting in nostrils when breathing. Left septum is a little enlarged.

I saw another doctor, who said I had folliculitis, and he prescribe Bactroban(Mupirocin) for me. He also hints me the folliculitis cannot be cured completely. I have to put Bactroban on the infected part to relieve the symptom, when I found acnes symptom become more severe. Then, I put Bactroban on my face. At the first 2 days, nothing happen. I therefore put more Bactroban on.

I presented with only one sore at my cheekbone and was given clindamycin orally for 14 days and Bactroban ointment for topical use. The sore was believed to be an early indication of MRSA. I quickly developed cellulitis and swelling near, but not touching, the apparent abscess, as well as blisters in my nose. I used the mupiricin.(Bactroban) to keep the nasal blisters moist. Now diagnosed with post-herpetic neuralgia, but I still have blisters in my nose treating with Bactroban.

The ointment is called Bactroban (Mupirocin). So if you took the bactrim pill for your sinus infection you usually break out all over or at least on the chest. I also doubt that it is an allergic reaction to the bactroban- I would expect to see a rash, hives, or redness at the site you were applying it to. Your symptoms could indicate an infection, though I would expect you to have a fever of 101 or more. At this point I think you should contact the Dr. who prescribed your bactroban to see if your culture results are back and to let them know about your continued symptoms.

Bactroban is awesome. I get the same so called folliculitis on my neck and it *****! I apply bactroban on the infected area once or twice a week and it solves the issue every time. Have him see a dermatologist and ask for bactroban or munipriocinit will save his life!!

I recently took him into the Dr and they prescribed Bactroban and said to put Eucerin lotion on it inbetween Bactroban treatments for 10 days. It does not seem to be healing up. I am not sure if it is because he bothers it and is keeping it from healing. Is there anything else I can be doing to help this cut heal and close?

Just wanted to say thank you for answering me back. I appreciate your help. My rash is getting better, I have been washing it with water and a mild soap, and I did end up going to Med Express here. The doctor gave me some oral antibiotics for the rash. So hopefully this rash keeps clearing up.
