My symptoms did not improve and I began on Vesicare, which did not help, and now I am on Detrol LA. This does not seem to be helping either. I am continuing to urinate 20-30 times a day. Sitting also makes it worse. Please help. I cannot continue to live like this.

My neurologist recently put me on a Detrol LA for a week, then had me add Flomax. I noticed a slight improvement with the Detrol, but when I added the Flomax things urinary got dramatically better. But, shortly after starting the Flomax, I discovered that I did not produce any ejaculate! Not that sex is a big thing with me (staying upright while standing takes precidence), but it is still an important part of life (if only rarely).
I'm not sure, but have you (or has he) checked with his cardiologist? If so, what does he/she say? Hope the move goes well and you enjoy your new home!
ve tried many different overactive bladder medications, such as Detrol LA. I am now on Desmotabs, which I thank the world that I found, as this has all but stopped the night-time issue. Still, I wonder if there's anyone out there with my symptoms, that has found a way to best it. The D tabs are fantastic, and I can usually take a couple before going out with friends, and not have to make the usual 100 trips to the bathroom in a night, so it has greatly reduced my anxiety and embarrassment.
I have been told by my doctor that I have a chronic case of IC....(about three years ago) I was ok for awhile and, now the severe pain has returned....which meant I had to return to my urologist....He gave me elmiron and vesicare to treat the IC....the Elmiron never helped my pain and, the Vesicare took my blood pressure from 113/72 pulse 68 to 153/103 pulse 122...I contacted my urologist and, he stated...that's not true ... neither of these meds would cause your blood pressure to go up...
I did have a similar problem during regular activities, but not nearly as bad. I was given Detrol LA to try. It took care of the problem in the daytime. Then, about a week ago, the problem at night stopped happening. Nothing had changed in terms of my medication or diet. It just stopped. In the meantime, I met with a new urologist who performed a cystoscopy and dilation of my urethra. Since my problem had stopped before I had met with him, I could not tell if it helped.
More fuel for the fire, but 2 32oz bottles a day or you will get dehydrated on the medicine I am about to recommend. For me, Detrol LA, Vesicare, Enablex didn't do anything for me.They helped, but not fully or it gave up entirely on me. The miracle pill that worked for me is Sanctura XR. It is expensive. $100 via mail order for a 3 month bottle. It really works. 92% of the OAB is gone if not more. Problem is the side effects are common. For me, I have every side effect.
I was a Urology Sales Rep for 9 years, so you would think I would know better. I see so many doctors and my co-pay is $35.00 per visit that I just can't afford any more doctors or medication bills. So, I take alot of Bactrim, Detrol LA and alot of AZO Standard.
He took another specimen and everything was clear. He gave me a weeks supply of Detrol LA.(not sure why because its not like I am having to go all the time I just feel like I do) I am still taking it on my third day. I am still not feeling normal. My belly feels bloated or full. I was just curious as to what could be making me feel this way and what should I do next. Is it my bladder or something else? Or can I still have an infection or could the infections have damaged my bladder?
My PCP put me on Detrol LA years ago, it was the only MS symptom I had at the time, not that we knew it was related to MS at the time. Hind sight, anyway the Detrol LA has really settled down the sudden and frequent urges. I still drink a lot of water, but now its more "normal" and go any where from 20 minutes to an hour. I start slowing down on the amount of water in the late afternoon/evening, but still get up usually once a night, but life is much better.
Yes, both cystoscopes showed bladder lining clear and pink, no irritation, got the microlab back today and no cancer cells, so that was good, only thing abnormal was the WBC Esterase was abnormal and Urologist said back to stronger antibiotic, Doxcycycline, and Detrol La to relieve muscle spasm... does that sound like urologist is on the right track? The usual treatments for this condition are pelvic muscle strengthening exercises, behavioural therapy and medication( detrol la) etc. Also, if you are urinating very frequently check the amount of fluid intake, check blood sugars and get a urine analysis with culture done.
Before going in for any over the counter medicines I would advise to visit a urologist for confirmation of diagnosis and further assistance on treatment.

I was put on Cipro XL for 6 days and the infection cleared but not the fequency and urgency to urinate. My doctor gave me Detrol LA a week ago and the symptoms have subsided greatly.
On Sunday, my husband and I had intercourse. I lubed up well and all was good. Again on Tuesday night, we had intercourse - no pain. Wednesday morning, after I urinated, I noticed blood on the toilet paper. After 3 wipes, no more blood. There was not much blood. I went to the ER - urine is fine.
