Just to say, insomnia is a very common long-term withdrawal problem when you stop antidepressants. When did that start? How well did you tolerate stopping the paroxetine? Why did you stop taking it? Did it stop working? Did you taper off slowly before starting the cipralex? I'm asking to see if we can trace what's happening and when it started so you know what's causing what.
s such a catch 22 right now because I luv how Cipralex works for the anxiety but am depressed (never suffered from depression before) because I'm too tired to do the things I want to do.
I'm going to talk to my doc about Wellbutrin but am terrified that it might increase the anxiety again or cause insomnia.

t want to have to depend on it for a long time, iv been through all this before on many different anti depressants with only venlafaxine and fluoxetine working but second time round they didn't work this is why I'm now on cipralex to see if this works my doctor is trying an alternative sleep aid tonight just waiting on him calling me back
Since you've had the problem since before you started the meds, it's pretty hard to attach it to them, don't you think? Depression can also cause sexual problems, particularly lack of desire. So I'm a bit confused -- are you blaming the drugs for it? Am I getting the timeline wrong? If what I'm reading is right and you had sexual dysfunction while on no medication at all, as you seem to indicate, that kind of alters the Wellbutrin question.
In fact they can make your anxiety worse in the beginning as you ramp up on them. It took me 4 weeks on Cipralex before I started feeling like things. So if you're only on it 2 weeks maybe give it a bit more time. If you feel real edgey speak to your doctor about getting Clonazapam or something else like the previous poster suggested to help take the 'edge" off until the Cipralex has a chance to start working. When I started Celexa and when I went off of Effexor I got those body/head zaps that you described. How long ago did you start taking cipralex? That very well could be the cause since those electric shock feelings are quite common with some antidepressents. Who prescribed them to you? If these symptoms persist you can always ask to try something else.
I am still now trying to get off the weight, and almost 4 months have passed.
How long have you been on it? If it is soon enough to quit cold turkey, I would toss those babies out the window and try something natural that your body can recognize. If you need to ween yourself off, I would start that process right away.

I am taking anti depressants Zyprexa 5mg, Cipralex 20mg & Wellbutrin SR 150mg. When I am busy I am fine as soon as I think of anxiety my anxiety level starts to increase and becomes realy disturbing and uncomfortable. What can I do to control my fear of anxiety?
My went to visit my doctor about my anxiety and sleeping issues and he has put me on Cipralex 10mg dosage a day and also prescribed me 50mg of trazodone to be taken at bedtime to help me sleep.

I've been on cipralex 20mg for about 1.5 yrs, before that was on 40mgs of celexa.. I'm 37, about 190lbs 5'7".. Anyway my question is, my dr prescribed me ability 2.5mgs that I'm scared to start because of all the scary side effects I've read :-(. I guess I should also let u no that I suffer from severe anxiety/ severe depression disorder.
Started taking 5mg cipralex every morning 3 days ago now. I feel really awful in the mornings. Really bad anxiety, headachy, no interest in my normal activity. I have three young kids and a great husband. I just want to feel normal again. Looking for some positive feedback. How long does it take for these meds to work? Thanks!
Did you ask your doc for some ideas of maybe something you can take short term to help with the tummy troubles? How long have you been on the Celexa now?
Some people are just more sensitive to meds, and the side effects will be a little bit worse. If you could manage those symptoms (even with something OTC like Simethicone...an anti-gas/bloat medicine), it may get you feeling a lot better until the side effects resolve.
I would ask your doc, see what he says.
I am coming off cipralex and I am soooo itchy especially my hands and neck. Has anyone had this withdrawal symptom? If so what can be done about it. Hand cream doesnt help.
iv been on cipralex 5mg for 10 days now 10mg for 13 days i am feeling weak nautious burning sensation and pressure in the the head not feeling my self feeling deattattched from my body . it is unbear able some times a feeling of loosing control alot of tention grinding my teeth ringing in the ears and head my doc told me to up my dose to cipralex 20mg but i am afraid it will make it worse. and the side affects will be a big problem.
So, risperdal works well for your tic disorder? It is often prescribed for that. I think that I'd consider how you felt before starting the antidepressant. That wasn't good either. It sounds like your doctor is trying to get the 'sweet spot' of medication working but not having numbed out feelings. Remember too that medication is trial and error to find the right med and then the right dose.
