Avatar m tn I cannot give you a scientific explanation why interferon does not work in the Immune Tolerance phase because there seems to be a new evaluation of the state of the immune system during the IT phase. However there are plenty of clinical studies that showed interferon is not effective during IT phase. It would be more effective during the immune clearance phase.
Avatar n tn you now have no choices at all, only tenofovir can work on you, you can already have all the mutations even if your hbvdna is und, so only tenofovir+lamivudine to recover kidney function as i told you already, fibroguard, you can also add coq10 but not so important if you take fibroguard as regards backing soda, take half tea spoon daily and check urine ph, try to keep ph at around 7, so kidneys have much less work to do with balancing ph

Avatar m tn They won't work on it till 2017 at least. Now the drug companies are all trying to cash in on the antivirals me too drugs. You have to live in America and experience this health care for profit to really understand what is going on. Until some other country with state runned medicine gives these type of projects to find cures for hep b. Hiv and cancers we will have this drugs that sort of work for some people.

Avatar m tn What if resistance happens to even tenofovir? How do you guys look at the treatment landscape in - say - 15 years time, when tenefovir resistance may probably show up (I have no evidence so please also let me know what's the "theoretical" years tenefovir could hold up for majority of us!) Avatar m tn If your eSeroconversion is a successful one, your eAntibody (+) will hold viral activity down on its own. Hopefully this "inactive" phase will last many years. As HR pointed out "retreatment is best initiated when the VL is still low". This means you still have to do DNA regularly. If your DNA starts climbing right after you stop antivirals, it's retreatment. If your DNA stay low and after some years starts to climb, it's retreatment.
Avatar m tn Due to the many concerns about lamivudine, i approached my Doctor with these concerns and she eventually approved tenovofir for me. Problem is, how do i start tenofovir? Is it a mistake changing? Should i just abruptly stop lam and switch to Tenvir? shouldn the switch be gradual? How. Please i need your advice. The only drugs available now in my country are lam and to a lesser extent Viread. Options are very minimal and cannot combo with other drugs.
