It turns out that portal vein and superior mesenteric vein are thrombosed. They put her on enoxaparin and wanted her to rest for 5 days until the next control. She refused to be put on heparin or warfarin because of her history of gastrointestinal bleeding and recent surgery. We've been told thrombectomy would be extremely risky, given her medical history.
I read somewhere enoxaparin only prevents further occlusion of the vein and does not lyse existing clot.
In one study, 50 women with thrombophilia (including 20 factor V Leiden heterozygotes) and recurrent pregnancy loss were treated with enoxaparin throughout 61 subsequent pregnancies. The live birth rate was 75% with enoxaparin prophylaxis, compared to 20% in prior untreated pregnancies [Brenner et al 2000].
continue through with warfarin, or to stop the warfarin and bridge in between with enoxaparin or heparin (as snconorm had done).

So continuing through with warfarin seems to be the newer strategy.
What would NOT be done is to stop anticoagulation altogether.
Yes I'm on the generic enoxaparin. I was on it with my first and forth (all 4 pregnancies were miscarriages). Now I'm on it again since 3 1/2 weeks pregnant.
My doctor did not have me do blood work for this either yet. He wants me to do blood work next week to see the numbers drop, but he has nothing to compare it to besides the ones from 5 weeks (I had a few done before I could go on shots and suppositories). I hope all goes well for you! It is very scary! I have gone through 3 miscarriages and this will be my 4th if we don't see anything new on my ultrasound to comfirm again at 71/2 weeks.

I haven't posted in a while and am wondering if anyone can help me with this because I can't find this answer anywhere... How does Oraquick work? I know it checks for antibodies and I know there are antigens on the test. My question is how do they create the antigens?Do they create a whole virus and then pull the antigen out of it? Where on the test are these antigens located? Are they on the T line? I have many fears regarding hiv but one of them is this test!
