He was admitted at 2pm, I saw him at 8pm. The nurse told me that he would definitely be there for a few days. When I asked what would happen if he ripped the tubes out and tried to leave, she said they would restrain him and sedate him. At 3:20 am, he called from a cab.
There are a number of concerns here. An abnormal ABR with normal OAEs can suggest auditory neuropathy or dyssynchrony, though the ABR might be slighly abnormal due to fluid behind the eardrums, for example. Usually the ABR is severely delayed or absent in auditory neuropathy.
What you really need is an accurate physical examination. At that age that sometimes means going to the operating room to get an accurate assessment.
The pulsatile tinnitus could definitely be from the dominant jugular bulb and sinus. As I said before, this is not a tumor, it is simply a normal variant of anatomy. The left sided venous drainage from your head is extremely large, so it shows up looking very large with contrast. The other side is very small, and so does not show up well.
This does not explain dizziness, hearing loss, or headaches.

Interestingly I had to fly during the last week and it seemed to me that while going up after the start my ear got better, whereas shortly before landing it got worse again.
Today - still feel this pressure and ringing - I saw the doctor again and we did two tests. First of all a tympanogram which showed the following results:
Volume 3.04 mL
Compliance 0.92 mL
Pressure 36 daPa
Gradient 0.59 mL
Furthermore we did a threshold audiometry.
i was pricked by a holly leaf and still have flareups of hot red itchy rash 4 years later. is that normal?
More water will help and go home and put those puppies up that will help with the swelling :)
