So who all is experiencing a heat wave where they live, and who has felt like complete crap since it started?

No heat wave this year but last year it was horrible, and its very dangerous to get a heat stroke, but in Montreal they have a heat wave and humidity its horrible, and that his not a good combination for me because Im allergic to water and my own sweet so I can't do anything :(

using a scooter in the house part time because it takes so much effort and energy to walk. I find I can get more done when I'm doing it from the scooter and I have more energy. Also, have learned to say, "no". Lulu - 110 today with the heat index up here in Amish ctry, not sure about where you're at...

Mowing the lawn gives me bh, im 36 weeks now but when I get a little further along I think our lawn will be mowed a couple times a week. Good luck on your yard for your shower.

The wave of heat can't be a normal hot flash. I had a hysterectomy at age 33. I'm 64. I turn my heat down to at least 63 or 64 at night. It's cool in my room. Every morning as soon as I open my eyes the heat starts. Seems like it starts from my core. It only lasts maybe a minute. I have to throw off the covers and stick my leg out. Sometimes I can almost break a sweat during the heat wave. After it stops I get really cold and have to cover back up. It does not happen any other time.

Yesterday night i was making a pizza When i open the oven door a heat wave come in My face and eyes . I immediately close the eyes but this was after the wave ,now my vision is normal and the eyes also look normal but I feel something weird on the eyes like a small burning sensation and some head ache maybe I guess the head ache can be that I got nervous . This have never happened to me and I didn’t make anything different or I put my face really near the oven the heat wave just came .

Miss Laural, I take lasiks (furosemide) 40 mg. I am trying to stay cool. Not so easy with this weather. The bad thing is that my lawn needs cut so bad. My lawn mower died and it hasn't been cut in a couple of weeks and this week is not looking good either. Red, Thank you, I am so glad to be done with it too. Here is it just as bad. The temps in the high 90's with heat indexes between 105 and 110. It is going to be like this all week.

I got waaay overheated before we got an air conditioner put in. Heat wave struck. Anyway, my hand and most of my arm is half numb and tingling. Almost like I'm holding an electrical cord. Anyone else ever have this? It's making me nervous. You know...what now?

In July this year we had heat wave and a few days with high heat indexes. I think I had had heat exhaustion mowing lawn. Shivering etc. Was drinking so thought I was fine. I got nauseous and dizzy. My heart rate was higher. Went to er and rate was fine 80's got fluids. Had Holt Monotor on with 52 events in 24 hours. Only 1 at 132 and it was early morning and said it was probably a nightmare. He said at least it is not a fast rhythm. I reminded him I had been 164 a couple days earlier.

The pain seems worse when I lay down. But really hurts all day and night. Did not start untill a rock flew out of lawn mower and hit me almost on the side of my elbow.

I experienced the itchies but can not remember if it was due to heat..When we had a heat wave here last summmer, I got a dose of extreme fatigue and weakness in legs with burning up both shins..I could barely stand up I was so weak and tired...Don't know if it relates..

Seasonal allergies really seem to contribute my migraines. Extreme heat can also trigger my migraines. Also, many summer activities such as mountain climbing/hiking or sitting/lying around in the sun for too long can trigger my migraines or make them worse. When it goes from heat to rain, that almost always triggers a migraine for me, and that can happen quite a bit around where I live.

You can make yourself an Oral Rehydration Drink to sip on during this heat wave. 5 cups water, 1 tsp. salt, 1 Tbs. sugar and a pinch of baking soda. Or drink some watered-down Gator Aid or Pedialite. Please take care of yourself. This heat wave has caused a lot of problems for people who aren't used to this type of weather. Some end up in the hospital with heat stroke, heat exhaustion or dehydration.

52am and i cant sleep im so hot im sitting on the floor in front of my vent letting the air hit me... i took a cold shower and have tried everything i can think of! Am i the only one going through this????

For two days the heat index here where I live has been in the low 100's. So far I am very pleased with the Phase Change cooling vest I bought this year. Monday I spent 15 minutes outside with the temperature at 82 and had no ill effects from the heat. Yesterday and today it has gotten up to 85 in my home again no ill effects from the heat.

Hi, ever since my accident and subsequent increase in MS symptoms, back last July, I have not attempted to mow my own lawn. I have a neighbor, 92 yrs old, God bless him, that mowed my lawn all last season, and this season as well. However, his health has taken a turn for the worse and he has been unable to mow it for over 2 weeks. Believe it or not, it really worried him that he couldn't do it. I am only a 14 year old girl, I was sitting at the computer for a few hours and I started getting random internal heat sensations in the same spot around my ankle.
