Avatar m tn Troy aikman, Jim nantz (Former QBs, now announce in the nfl). **** Butkus (former nfl player who used the terrible helmets! Now in his 70s on nfl countdown). Chanel sonnen (former ufc fighter, now broadcaster) I really could go on and on. But these are people who took blows to the head for years upon years before we really knew about the how serious head trauma is.
Avatar f tn There is currently a serious issue with respect to football players and concussions in the NFL and their symptoms closely mirror what you indicate. Head bounces from a soccer ball can cause skull bone issues especially for younger individuals. For all of you parents reading this post, make sure your children avoid similar manuvers with a soccer ball. The weight of the ball multiplied by the speed of the hit on the head can cause serious injuries for children.
Avatar m tn s almost impossible that the current level of your head trauma would lead to something sinister. However, I strongly advise against pursuing a career in NFL, as it seems that some people, probably due to a genetic predisposition, are more prone to CTE. To put it simply, one guy gets whacked in the head every day and doesn't mind, the other has something with his blood brain barrier and develops CTE. Unfortunately, those genes are not known.

Avatar n tn I hit my head 2 days ago and now I have been getting headaches, dizziness and nausea. The headache is mostly where I hit my head. While I was driving I experienced a tingling sensation through both of my arms and hands and felt weak.
Avatar f tn Following this incident I found when I leaned over my head become sore. I thought that I might just be suffering the effect or a minor concussion. Now it is almost 8 months later and feel my head is not any better. I am scared that I might catch something that might make me cough or sneeze or even worse which would really cause my head to become over whelmed with pain. I am on beta blockers and find my blood pressure can still rise up in the 150 range.
Avatar n tn one week after concussion my 14 week malteese turns in circles all day what can this be.
Avatar m tn First I want to say Hello and to Thank anyone who replies. I have no idea on how to inform my son that his dreams and hard work has been, from now on anyway, is fruitless. How do you tell your 14 year old son that he will no longer be able to play his favorite sport? My son was diagnosed as a incidental finding of an 8mm Chiari malformation type 1. This was a routine MRI, so we thought, after a concussion. There are only three things this child cares about.
Avatar f tn I am not sure anyone will be able to answer accurately since a concussion is a jarring to the brain and what happens physically in/on the brain no one knows.

Avatar n tn When my husband was discharged from the ER they gave him a paper explaining about head concussion. So we assumed he had a head concussion. He did o.k. for two days and then started being confused and disoriented again. For the most part he seems fine, but today he had another episode of confussion/disorientation and dizziness. Are this symptoms normal? Thanks for any response.

Avatar n tn I had an x-ray yesterday which showed no fracture, however I now feel worse than I did yesterday with disorientation (I try to walk in one direction and go in the other), dizzyness, fatigue, my limbs feel like led weights, my fingers are tingling. I have an increasingly worse headache and am feeling very nauseous.Things are starting to get very difficult to make sense of! And its becoming quite difficult to focus on things...everything has a blurry edge to it. My pupils are like pin pricks.

Avatar f tn I am a concussion survivor. Could you get a concussion if your head stops suddenly from a fast movement? Yesterday I was in a hurry and running and pushed the door in front of me. It stopped abruptly which caused my body to stop too. Could this cause a concussion? I'm scared because I am recovering from a concussion already. Does it make me more prone to brain injury? Please, help me!
Avatar n tn I have a pretty good knot on my head still and know I had a concussion (dizziness, fatigue, nausea/vomiting and headache). Well.. today my head still hurts, but I am noticing pain in my ear as well still. That began last night. Since I do not have insurance, I am wondering if I should be concerned and seek treatment. Please advise!
Avatar f tn You may have a bad concussion or you could have some swelling or bleeding in your head somewhere. It can become very serious quickly so I would advise you to seek medical attention.

Avatar m tn This could possibly be a factor. Have his ears checked. He could be suffering from fluid in his ears, which could cause many symptoms. Did anything happen during his trip? Did something set him off? Will he answer you honestly? I have ADD, have had several concussions over the years, and also suffer with Meniere's Disease ( inner ear thing )...I get the worst "jet lag" in the world when I even go over the mountains in a car. Any change in altitude sets me off...
Avatar f tn I hit my head on the ground hard, experiencing extreme pain in the back of my head, so much so I felt like I was going to cry-which I never do. It took me a few minutes to get up, and when I did, pain exploded in the back of my head. Since then, I've been tired, angry, irritable, expirienced mood swing and headaches. should I go to the doctor to check for a concussion?
