Having sex after morning after pill

Common Questions and Answers about Having sex after morning after pill

Avatar n tn You only have five days after unprotected sex to take the morning after pill, and its efficiency decreases over that time. The pill is not very expensive, like $20 - $25, far, FAR less than an actual pregnancy. And while you're at the clinic, I'd suggest discussing your birth control options with the doctor, just so you don't have this worry again.
Avatar f tn normally they tell you you should be on birth control for at least a month before having unprotected sex. I don't think 12 days is long enough on the pill. call your pharmacist or your doctors office and ask.
Avatar f tn Would anything happen if you were to take the day after pill even after having sex using a condom just in case? Let's say sex was safe but you still decide to take the pill, would anything happen?
Avatar f tn im experiencing abdominal pains three days after using the morning after pill what could be th eproblem
Avatar n tn Hello, I took morning after pill 2 weeks ago exactly after unprotected sex (however my bf ejaculated outside me) and today i am five days late, i did not have spotting anything, i have stomach pains from the first days i took plan b and breast tenderness and pains. My period is 5 days late, is it due to the pill? Can the pill delay the period? How long can it delay?
Avatar f tn We are just wondering whether we should go and get the morning after pill just to be safe as we don't want any unplanned pregnancy and have always been very careful about using protection when having sex, however I am not on the pill. Any advice would be great as we are both pulling our hair out trying to figure out what to do.
Avatar f tn I had unprotected sex but my partner didn't inject in me but I still took the plan b pill, within the 72 hours. It's been 3 weeks now and I've been having itchy burning feeling in my private area. My period is already un-regular so I never know when I get my period. Do I have a yeast infection? Did the pill cause this itching and burning? Is there a possibility that I'm pregnant? What do I do?
Avatar n tn We did not finish the sexual intercourse inside me(he ejaculated outside me) and i was in the 6th day of the menstrual cycle but got so scared that after 12 hours i took the morning after pill. It is 4 days from that day and i have the breast tender and the lower abdomen bloated and have cramps. I am alil better than the first two days when i took the pill, but however in the mornings and evenings i get more bloated and have cramps. Is this normal due to the morning after pill?
Avatar n tn Okay i had a baby 6 weeks ago me and my husband had protected sex however condoms wasnt so effective so i went and took the morning after pill i took it like 2 and a half days latter when we got paid but im very paranoid jus tryin to see if this worked for anyone?
Avatar n tn I was really paranoid that after having unprotected sex twice within a week that i would get pregnant so after both times of having unprotected sex I took the morning after pill. The pharmacist never indicated to me when she gave me the dose that i cannot take more than one dose within a time limit of each other.
Avatar n tn Only time will really tell. Most women ovulate 2 weeks after the beginning of their last cycle. So she could quite possibly have ovulated. If she did already ovulate but took the morning after pill, it wouldn't stop her from becoming pregnant. If she hadn't ovulated yet, then that pill would stop her from ovulating. I guess in this situation, only time will really tell. I think her taking it about an hour later probably was best though.
Avatar n tn It states that it is normal to get sick from taking the morning after pill She did get a bit sick after taking the morning after pill. She felt dizzy and nauseated and sick to her stomach a bit. It was off and on, and I can definitely tell it effected her emotionally, and she was up and down. She did take the morning pill right after, in an hour after the situation occurred. How long does it take for a person to get pregnant? Also, how long does it take for the pill to come in effect?
142722 tn?1281537216 Just wondering how effective the morning after pill is and if any still got preggo even though they took it
Avatar f tn has anyone ever got pregnant after taking the morning after pill? I took the pill 3 days after having unprotected sex and my period is late. My last period was jan 4th so im going on my second month with not having a period. I took several hpt all negative, feb 15th i took a urine and blood tests at the doc's-negative. If preg i would be 8 weeks now. I have preg symptons like tired, nausea incresed eating, weight gain in belly and breast.
Avatar f tn The morning after pill is only good up to 120 hours after unprotected sex, any time after that, you will just have to wait and see... And it should jump start your body into getting your period almost immediately to a few days after being used. I have used it once before many years ago, be careful... It has different effects on different women's bodies and it screwed mine up BAD. Get on birth control if you don't want a pregnancy.
Avatar n tn What i want to ask is if it is possible that 6 days after the pill i am having the real period? Will the pill change my period forever? and this intense itching could it be bacterial vaginosis or yeast? After my first time intercourse (with the same person) i got burning (never itching)and doctor cured me for bacterial vaginosis (ruled out std), now my second intercourse with the same person two days after intense itching. Can it be infection again?
Avatar n tn hi! i had taken the morning after pill on august 20 because i had just ended my period, and had freaked out...also had to re use another morning after pill on september 8 because the condom broke. i am 26 and no better but morning after pill gave me another period on sept 12 which lasted til about this sept 17...so just off that period and i had unprotected sex today sept 19...he pulled out , but i know that method is not a go.
Avatar n tn As for your question cookiebaby the morning after pill is 85% effective and looses effectiveness the longer you delay taking it after unprotected sex. I took the morning after pill the morning after having sex and still ended up pregnant. It is however very effective and the odds of that happening are low. Have her take a pregnancy test when her period is due to make sure that she isn't indeed pregnant.
223520 tn?1221443883 I have a question. 2 months ago I took the morning after pill within 24 hours of unprotected sex. I know you are supposed to take the second dose 12 hours after the first. I messed up and took it 15 hours later. Here is my question. Last month, I got my period a few days late. This month I got it a week and half early, and just ended it 3 days ago. Now I am having LOTS of white discharge.(tmi- SORRY!
Avatar n tn The pill you took, was it PlanB - what you take the day after having sex? That shouldn't make your period come early. You should call your doctor to get things straigtened out but don't be worried.
Avatar m tn me and my girlfriend had unprotected sex last night i was careful and i pulled out and it was my first and only intercourse that day and on the scheduled cycle she will have her period in 13 days, and where i live there is no emergency contraceptives or morning after pill and its easy to find anti pregnancy pills or " the pill " and i read some articles online talking about having 4 pills of microgynon-30 after and 4 pills after 12 hours from the first 4 pills as a replacement for the
Avatar f tn Hi, I took a morning after pill because my bf's condom broke, he pulled out right before he did anything.. I took the pill about an hour afterwords (next step or next choice) im kind of worried because I don't really know how this works, I've never tooken birth control and it was only my second time having sex. I'm mostly worried because I usually have my period by now. This is day 2 of the pill. Usually I start my period between the end of the month to around the 5th of the month.
Avatar n tn The condom came off in me with all the fluids still in it, it was in me for a good 8 minutes. This was 10-12 days after my ovulation. I took the morning after pill within 24 hours. My period is due this week (fingers crossed), is there a possibility I could be pregnant. If it helps I'm 16 .
Avatar f tn Deterence should come with this morning after pill. And I dare say, religion talk should come with this moring after pill for kids.
Avatar n tn Ok here is the deal? I had sex took the morning after pill two days after having sex? Then had sex a week later, at this time is it possible to get pregnant?
Avatar n tn If you have a positive pregnancy test, then it's too late for the morning after pill. That pill is only good for 72 hours after you had unprotected sex (you can do it up to 120 hours later, but it's less effective). When were you having unprotected sex (or had a condom slip off or break)? Depending on what state you're in, there's a time limit on abortions if that's what you want to do, so you should look into it sooner rather than later (it can be a cutoff as early as 18 weeks).
Avatar n tn Never got any bleeding or anything from it. But a week later i had sex again, did not take the morning after pill. Could i be pregnant from this time. Or does it take a while for your cycle to get back on track after taking the morning after pill.
217439 tn?1206137703 I don't know much about the morning after pill, but I do know that you shouldn't be using "Plan B" as birth control. Why would you have sex a second time, the next day and not use protection? PLEASE USE PROTECTION IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET PREGNANT!! PS. There is no way to know if you are pregnant. You would not be feeling symptoms this early. It is possible that you are cramping because of ovulation.
Avatar m tn If you were my patient, I would reassure you that you are probably not having a reaction to the morning after pill, and it is probably safe to take the remaining pill. If your symptoms persist though, it would be good to check in with your doctor to determine what they are about! Good luck!
