If the guaifenesin breaks up sinus mucus, it stands to reason that it will break up the mucus in your stomach. I got a wicked case of gastritis from mucinex. I deduced this was the reason why.

I have been to a pulmonogist (I am 43) and he suggested that humidifier/steam thing and whooo it made me worse. I do the sinus irritation thing-not the neti pot but a tube. The CVS pharm. recommended it to me. I had a CAT scan on my sinus which revealed nothing but I know I do cough from bronchtis and asthma and what has worked for me is a bronchiodialator "Combivent". That was also reccomended by my pulmonolgist.

This can be done through transillumination (passing light through the sinuses) or Sinus X-rays or CAT scan of sinuses.Pls consult an ENT specialist and get these tests done. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.

i'm 23y/o i live in alaska and i've been using a cpap machine for about a year now. in the past 2 months i've had 2 sinus infections. i have never had a sinus infection prior to this. Can this be due to my cpap machine?

Have you tried products containing Guaifenesin? This incredient thins secretions and is found in Mucinex (pricey) and products like that - BUT, if you can find a generic or plain Guaifenesin, you will save tons of money. You need to drink plenty of water for Guaifenesin to work. You may need to sleep with your head propped up temporarily, until [hopefully soon] you are well again. Good luck. I will tell you that u definetly have a cold or flu and i think its been caused by germs and bacteria. And considering you said you were in a hotel gets me to think if the air conditioning was filtered with dirt that you congested and got sick. if you want to prevent having colds always make sure you are in an clean environment. I think you need to drink lots of water and take some antibiotics and wash your hands after everything Hope this helped!

My husband has put it off and now with all of his recent, on going illness, we are wondering if this tooth and his chronic sinus infections are related. The tooth in question has had repeated fillings and a crown is currently in place. Any feedback would be appreciated. I would love to get my healthy husband back.

After that I did a lot of the tablets u put in the shower floor and stand in there with hot water and I soaked in the tub soooo much. They can happen while pregnant bc of the increase of mucus production. I bet youve been experiencing a lot of stuffiness and congestion. I have.
