Recently diagnosed with Type 2. Doctor started me on Metformin (Glumetza) about a one week ago. 500MG 2x day. I'm getting some nausea that seems to continue all day and just sort of a general light headed feeling. Not dizzy per se and haven't vomited yet but it's disconcerting and not good for someone who needs to spend time outside in the sun etc. I'm just not feeling right.

My levels can increase 25 to 100 points after taking my medication (GLUCOVANCE) whether I eat or not. Earlier today I ate a meal which included a lot of carbs. I checked my blood sugar before and after. My blood sugar level dropped 50 points. I know that weaning off of cymbalta causes a myriad of side effects with brain zaps being the worst. I have researched to see if there is a link between coming off of cymbalta and this problem with my blood sugar.

Each time, I'm driving at least 80 kilometre per hour . It's always in the morning. And it starts with my feeling a little dizzy, then my vision starts narrowing, my hands start feeling cold and clammy, and I start feeling extremely disoriented. Each and every time, I've managed to get my car off the road, fortunately, and it takes me several minutes to clear my head enough to drive again.

I had to stop taking metformin completely as soon as I got my pregnancy confirmed. I was taking it for PCOS and insulin resistance. My dr said I'll probably start taking it after delivery and after I finished breastfeeding.

My doctor told me once i find out im pregnant stop the metformin immediately...

Did anyone notice the post on hbvadvocate.org March issue that metformin can reduce the incidence of cancer by 97pct!isn't it a great news??

Has anyone taken metformin while pregnant? I am currently on metformin but my doctor told me to stop taking them at 9 weeks, but I am scared to bc I dont want to have a miscarriage. Any thoughts on what I should do?

Hi ladies. have any of you ever had to take metformin? I have been on it only a week now but my body is doing weird things and it is a bit unsettling. At first I thought what I was experiencing was normal but I was researching metformin on line and it said if you have any of these certain symptoms to get emergency medical attention right away because it can be life threatning. It named off many side effects that were normal and were not normal. I had both.

My doctor just placed me on Metformin 500mg for 7 days, and then I will take it twice a day after that. I took my first pill today, and a little while later I got a headache and felt like I had to eat something. The weakness part went away, however I still have a headache. I was wondering how everybody eles' expierence with this medication was and if this really helps.

Hi ladies, starting metformin soon and I was wondering what to expect? I've been looking online and it seems to be a medicine for diabetics although I've seen women talking about it on the forum in the past. I don't have pcos, or endometriosis or diabetes but I have been ttc for almost a year and I am trying to research some things to talk to my doctor about when I go on Friday...I brought up Clomid but my dr. didn't like that idea and my friend said that her doctor put her on metformin (she has pcos though) and if not pregnant in a couple months, she is going on clomid...Does Metformin help you get pregnant?

i am a diabetic, and have been put on metformin due to the fact of me being a diabetic as well as having pcos. i get my AF every month. I was wondering if there is a chance I could get pregnant on it.. I have been trying to conceive for 2 years now. I had stopped taking metformin for awhile because of my stomach hurting when I took it and now I am on 1000mg a day. Any advice is much appreciated. Do you think it will work or what should my next step be?

I know that I ovulate but she thinks the Metformin/Glucophage might help me. Has anyone been on Metformin that can tell me what to expect? Are there any success stories for people with a similar situation? Thanks!
