Avatar n tn PCOS can affect 5% of all women and common symptoms include irregular menstrual cycles, increased growth of hair on the body, loss of hair on the head, acne, and weight gain.
Avatar f tn but associated diabetes or other glucose abnormalities can affect growth and development overall, as well as weight, energy etc. So it is best to speak with a peds endocrinologist to get the necessary information. Take care.
10406702 tn?1409942125 Yes, yeast balanitis (the medical term for inflammation of the head of the penis, typically in uncircumcised men) commonly causes red spots that may be pimple-like. I see no reason for embarrassment. It that's what is preventing you from getting professional care, suck it up and just do it.
Avatar f tn I itch so bad that I have created sores. I am 41 and have had a long history of bv and yeast infections. The docs can't tell me what's wrong. Cuurently, I do not have bv or a yeast infection. Doc noticed that I am red. I do have an odor but no discharge other than a slight clear, watery one. Avatar f tn high Basophil, high EOS auto, high lymph, high RDW, high Abs Basophil, high albium, low Bili total, high BUN, low glucose, low side and low UA Ueovilinogen. Please help if you can. Thank you.
Avatar n tn with the condition of keeping an eye on fructose-glucose-lactose levels and foods and drinks with yeast.
11765409 tn?1420944089 If you do find that you get yeast infections a lot, do get your doctor to arrange for you to have a glucose test done. People with glucose intolerance (pre diabetes) and people with diabetes are prone to getting yeast infections. Do bear in mind too, that being on a course of antibiotics can also bring on yeast infections.
Avatar n tn The body releases hormones (growth etc.), while the body is at rest. Most hormones are glucose based and can affect blood sugar that is why when women menstruate and children have growth spurts their blood sugars and insulin dosages need to be changed. I would suggest you ask your doctor what blood sugar range he would like you to be in and what you could do to be in better control.
Avatar f tn Doesn't mean anything im measuring a little big and my ob sent me for a growth scan just to be sure and he is just fine. Weird that they didn't at least send you for a growth scan just to be sure. Did your glucose test come back normal?
Avatar f tn Just curious. Btw I'm 32 weeks and still haven't taken my glucose test!
Avatar f tn After we eat, excess glucose is stored in the liver as glycogen to maintain normal glucose levels in our body. In GSD I, the enzyme needed to release glucose from glycogen is missing. When this occurs, a person cannot maintain his or her blood glucose levels and will develop hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) within a few hours after eating. The low levels of glucose in the blood of these individuals often result in chronic hunger, fatigue, and irritability.
Avatar f tn If your child’s doctor suspects gigantism, he or she may recommend a blood test to measure levels of growth hormones and an insulin-like growth factor (called IGF-1), which is a hormone produced by the liver. The doctor also may recommend an oral glucose tolerance test. For this test, your child will drink a special beverage containing glucose, a type of sugar. Blood samples will be taken before and after your child drinks the beverage.
Avatar n tn I have been going mad trying to get rid of a yeast infection that has persisted over a week now. 3 treatments and yet the itching and a rash on my thighs have persisted and I won't heal. My std' work up came up normal this afternoon- although I am awaiting results of HIV bloodwork. In conjunction with the yeast infection I have experienced such fatigue like never before. My lower back has stabbing pain and I am thirsty with a dry mouth.
Avatar f tn If your doctor didn't tell you, you can ask the pharmacist. I'm using it right now, but I don't need to worry about birth control. I would suggest researching online the Candida diet and follow the phase 1 part of the diet for a minimum of a month, maybe two, then start reintroducing foods in phase 2 of the diet. Whether it's external where the Clotrimazole (the generic) is used or vaginal, it's still yeast.
Avatar f tn hon, i would suggest testing for diabetes you know, reoccuring yeast infections can be caused by that, as well as flu like symptoms beacause of the overload of glucose, or too low glucose levels, get tested i say just to be on the safe side : ) but sayign that, i had reoccuirng yest infectiosn and it was down too stress, if your worryign about it a lot then that coudl just be the problem .
666921 tn?1254990618 I have just been reading all about 'candida' - yeast over-growth - there are a lot of symptoms that match a lot of lyme symptoms - I would recommend everyone here to read about it .
Avatar f tn And after reading your comment, don't stress! You produce more sugar (glucose) when your pregnant that fungal growth thrives off of. It's extremely common to deal with yeast infections or bacterial when you are pregnant. So many women who have never had issues, will usually as some point in there pregnancy deal with this as well!
Avatar m tn yes many women develop yeast infections while on antibiotics due to the fact that the antibiotics not only kill the bad bacteria but they kill the good bacteria as well, which then allows the ph balance to go out of balance. It is recommended in order to prevent yeast over growth from antibiotics to take a probiotic an hour or so after antibiotic to re-establish the good bacteria withing the urinary tract...this should prevent the yeast from taking strong hold in the area.
Avatar m tn I am 20 week and I been having frequent (3 yeast) infection the doc prescribe a yest infection pill and said if i have another yeast infection she will have to test to see if i have an std. With the yest infection everything cleared up but the strong odor. my question is: if it was trichomoniasis would the yest infecton pill have ANY affect on the symptoms that trichomoniasis have. Everything is gone but the bad smell. It is not as bad but it is still there.
Avatar n tn I have received conflicting information in the literature. I have read that white refined sugar promotes tumor growth, while unrefined sugars, e.g. fructose, maple syrup, agave nectar, etc., do not, and are therefore safe to consume. Conversely, I also have read that unrefined sugars do promote tumor growth because they raise the body's insulin levels, which in turn promotes estrogen production. Is there any conclusive science that the medical community is aware of, on any of this?
1287128 tn?1331134538 There are two in your vagina at all times BV and Yeast. You get a yeast infection when the yeast is in over growth and you get BV when BV is over growth. I've had it several times this pregnancy. I take the antibiotics and usually end up with a yeast infection also. So watch out for that too. If you start itching call your Dr.
2003871 tn?1336168469 If you have reoccurring yeast infections that can be a sign of diabetes, however yeast infections can easily occur without diabetes. So, get tested for glucose blood levels but you might want to talk to your dr about other causes.
Avatar f tn I'm fail my 3 hour glucose so I'm getting a ultrasound and bc my blood pressure was kind of high the last few times and also bc my baby is two weeks bigger so they just want to check up on her
Avatar f tn To: Dr. Santos Hello. I've been having this problem (frequent urination) pretty good for about 1 year now. I feel tired a lot and I have a outer itching on my vaginal area around my monthly cycle time but I don't have a yeast infection because I've been tested for this many times. I take 20 mg of Lexapro daily and on other medicine. About one year ago, I had a glucose test done at my annual pelvic exam visit, and my sugar was higher than usual but not diabetic.
