Common Questions and Answers about Glucosamine sulfate hyaluronic acid

Avatar m tn Because you are asking about hyaluronic acid, and because of the recent addition of GAG's to pharmacy shelves, I think it's important to address a few points about the uses of these compounds therapeutically. On the up side, hyaluronic acid is the same from whatever source it is isolated, and it is so common in the body that it can be used as a hypoallergenic surgical material for reconstructing and building up tissues that are lost.
Avatar n tn Check into MSM, along with the glucosamine and hyaluronic acid. No chondroitin?
Avatar n tn Myxedema in both hyperthyroid and hypothyroid conditions results from the accumulation of increased amounts of hyaluronic acid and chondroitin sulfate in the dermis in both lesional and normal skin. I was doing a lot of research because my TSH tests went from a normal (and stable) 1.5, to a year later 29.9.
Avatar f tn Natural dog arthritis supplements offering your dog the correct amounts of Glucosamine, MSM, Chondroitan sulfate, Hyaluronic acid, Omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin C will help to relieve your dogs arthritis pain and nourish his joints. Should you want to follow up on this with me, that would be fine.
Avatar f tn I assume you're looking for alternative remedies, not pharmaceuticals. This can be very particular to an individual, and dependent on how severe the arthritis is and whether it's pinching nerves and such, and whether it's osteo or rheumatoid arthritis.
Avatar f tn Please add Omega 3 Fatty acids at a dose of 250 mg twice daily. Adequan and hyaluronic acid injections will also help. Other natural remedies: Dog Gone Pain, Acupuncture, Physical Therapy, Prolotherapy, Stem Cell Therapy, Chinese Herbal Formulas: Benefits Hips and Knees, Di Gu Pi, Loranthus Combination and more. Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatories, such as Rimadyl, or Previcox or equivalent, and Tramadol are helpful in conjunction with holistic therapies.
159619 tn?1707018272 The patient should be referred to physical therapy. Intra-articular injection of corticosteroids, and hyaluronic acid, may have a small effect on knee pain. I think Synvisc treatments are fine. You need to monitor your improvement on Synvisc treatment. If you do not have any response then what is the second line of treatment. What is the line of management the doctor has planned? Keep me posted if you have any queries. Bye.
Avatar n tn ginger and glucosamine sulfate will affect coumadin (warfarin) I'm on warfarin and can't take ginger or glucosamine and a host of other supplements.
1652468 tn?1302900498 Most arthritic patients have multiple nutritional deficiencies, including lowered levels of vitamins A, B6, B12, and C. Glucosamine sulfate can help. Ensuring adequate levels of minerals such as magnesium and selenium is also important. Finally, detoxification should be part of any arthritic patient’s holistic plan. Most arthritic patients need detoxification from heavy metals such as mercury.
Avatar m tn Hi. Supplements to a dog's diet such as Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate, Omega Fatty Acids, Vitamin E, Selenium, and MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) all assist in decreasing inflammation and improving the body's ability to repair and strengthen tissues. Supplements, however, will not reverse structural changes in a joint such as torn cartilage, calcium deposits and advanced scar tissue.
Avatar n tn GAGs profile on the cellulose acetate electrophoresis revealed that heparan sulfate (HS), hyaluronic acid (HA) and chondroitin sulfate/dermatan sulfate (CS/DS) were present in liver, spleen and lungs. HS, CS were present in heart, DS/CS was observed in testis.
Avatar m tn Could it cause vision problems, I have seen that the main ingredient of restylane is Hyaluronic acid, I have found a topical cream that is 75% hyaluronic acid, I know this wont work as well but do you think this is an option or not even worth spending hte money on the cream. Any comments or experiences would be great.
Avatar m tn Hello, I am 46 yrs old, male, ex-athlete (competitive level basketball) and live in London, England. A year ago I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis on my left hip during an arthroscopy and most of the joint cartilage is worn out. Take glucosamine tablets regularly. Even though my condition is not so advanced to take painkillers etc, I cannot do any sport, which is important to me (even at a light, amateur level) and walking start bothering me after a few hundered meters.
Avatar n tn s of Glucosamine, MSM, Omega-3 Fatty Acids (sourced as EPA, DHA), Vitamin C and Hyaluronic acid. Using a product with the above nutrients properly dosed to meet your dogs needs according to his body weight along with another natural product called VitaLife has helped many dogs like yours and may be worth consideration. I want to mention that unlike prescription remedies such as Rimadyl that work immediately, natural products in large dogs, initially take a few weeks to "kick-in".
Avatar f tn However, Italian researchers have found that the LD50 (the lethal dose at which half of the animals die) of glucosamine sulfate is 8000 mg/kg. In humans this would be equivalent to ingesting over 500,000 mg at one time or 1,000 pills each containing 500 mg. I hope this is useful... I got the idea from the site that max safe dose is 1500mg, and your dog had twice that much. You may want to see the vet anyway, even tho it says in the previous paragraph that a lethal dose is 8000mg.
20898027 tn?1590467808 There are some supplements that are supposed to help with joint and connective tissue, such as collagen, glucosamine sulfate, and some others. Others help with inflammation, such as turmeric and ginger. I just don't think magnesium is one of them and if the rotator cuff is torn severely enough you'll probably need surgery. If it's just age and usage, again, you'd probably be sent to PT.
Avatar m tn Pt. II -- Other ideas are chondrointon and glucosamine sulfate, which help some, don't help others. Some also find help by avoiding foods in the nightshade family. Lots of research to do.
Avatar m tn Some patients swear by the joint supplements, such as chondroitin, hyaluronic acid, and glucosamine. There is some anecdotal evidence that these may help thicken the cartilage, but no strict research has ever shown this to be true.
6669309 tn?1462648142 Hi. Arthritis is very common in older dogs and the longer dogs live the more common it is becoming. Nutritional supplements Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate are two substances that have fast become the standard treatment in canine age-related arthritis. These are often sold as a single combined substance in good pet shops and quality supermarkets. Alternatively, just look up "Glucosamine and Chondroitin Sulfate for dogs" on Google and you should find a supplier.
1295500 tn?1272459927 Hi, my questions is I have a 9 year old collie, Sheppard, husky mix dog she's probably about 90 lbs now. She seems to be having a lot of problem with her back legs. Some days she seems fine and other days she can barely get up off the floor and when she does her back legs shake. Right now what's happening is she is holding one of her legs up and walking on three legs.
