Glucosamine low blood sugar

Common Questions and Answers about Glucosamine low blood sugar

Avatar f tn To determine if a woman has low serum ferritin levels, a blood test is performed. (It is important to note that hemoglobin is the standard measure for iron in the blood, and while hemoglobin levels can diagnose anemia, they do not always correspond with low serum ferritin hair loss. A woman can have plenty of hemoglobin, yet still suffer from low serum ferritin levels.) When it comes to ferritin levels and female hair, ferritin levels are simply more important to the body.

Avatar n tn I took him to the vet and she diagnosed him w/ a low blood sugar episode. Then, he went for his yearly shots a week later after the seizure and about four days after he had some vomiting and severe diahrria; I took him to the vet and she didn't give me a dignosis she just gave him some anti-nausea/diharria medicine. It has been about four days since and he had vomited twice, not in the same day and is acting normal.

Paired with protein, it was also shown to suppress ghrelin, a hormone that makes you hungry. Psyllium is one of five soluble fibers approved by the FDA for lowering LDL cholesterol. Dose: 20 to 35 g/day, divided and taken with at least 8 oz liquid Probiotics Problem: Upset stomach Probiotics are healthy bacteria that crowd out the disease-causing bad bacteria in your gut.
Avatar m tn That seems strange that your sugar levels are low after eating sweets. Could be they give you a big blood rush and then go down dead quick. Best to eat foods that are slow release, like fruit, veg, grains, porridge, brown bread and so on. Don't overdo the water. Drinking 2-3 litres per day is usually recommended, but you can overdo it. Drinking too much is just as dangerous as not drinking enough. The inner ear infection will cause balance problems.
Avatar f tn I have always had slightly low blood pressure, perhaps 100 over 65 or thereabouts, and I have been prone to fainting for years, but I suspect the faintness is getting worse. My total cholesterol used to be ~165, but around the time my joint pain generalized a year ago, it dropped to 141 in about two months and was no higher as of January (I stopped donating blood then, so I do not have more recent numbers).

Massage and acupuncture can also help some to break down the blockages and allow nutrients to regenerate tissue.
Avatar m tn I am active (exercise almost daily), eat very healthy (fruits, veggies, no processed foods, no sugar, low salt), and take supplements (multivitamin w/no iron, glucosamine, quercetin, ginkgo, l-glutamine, omega-3 fish oil). I also have protein shakes made from whey or casein when I work out.
Avatar f tn Since it is gluten-free and boasts a smoother blood sugar behavior than other grains, sorghum may be considered an acceptable non-meat ingredient. The fourth ingredient is chicken. Although it is a quality item, raw chicken contains about 80% water. After cooking, most of that moisture is lost… reducing the meat content to just a fraction of its original weight. After processing, this item would probably occupy a lower position on the list. The fifth ingredient lists barley.

Some researchers have suggested that MSM has anti-inflammatory effects (Morton et al.

Avatar f tn Should I also see a neurologist for an updated brain MRI? I am planning to change my diet to manage a more stable and low blood sugar and thus blood insulin level through eating of low glycemic indexed carbohydrates Do you think this will also help with the ischemic brain lesions? Can you recommend anything else? I do find I have poor short term recall such as remembering I turned on the water system outside or other similar things related to my work.

Avatar n tn I am truly amazed by the results. I have tried many over the counter Glucosamine/Chondroitin formulas to no avail. My mobility is already significanty better, and best of all I do not feel exhausted from being in pain all the time. I do not know what helps with pain relief in this formula. But I am extremely thankful. I can't find Flexprotex in my local drug store. I found it at an online store after seeing the commercial.
Avatar n tn My mother died a few years back with Hepatitis C which attacked the liver (cirrhosis) She never drank, but had taken assorted meds for arthritis for years. She received a blood transfusion when I was born (1955) and I was told by Doctors that it was very likely this is when she came in contact with the Hepatitis C virus, as blood screening then was not very good. I have recently experienced pigmentation loss in various places.
Avatar f tn We'd been trying different antibiotics with no luck. Since he wasn't eating, his insulin dosage was causing his blood sugar to drop too low causing a seizure. The vet said the only thing he had left to try was exploratory surgery. He said that sometimes they do that, and if they don't find anything, proceed with putting him to sleep. I said no to that and proceeded with the euthanazia. And I know I can't go back, but it's eating me up.
Avatar n tn Routine check ups with doctors show healthy blood pressure, cholesterol and blood-sugar levels. The only concerning factor shown through these tests have been a decrease in iron levels, which have been very slowly increasing with the help of iron supplements. - Sleep apnoea - likely linked to increased weight gain, but have included this to ensure all factors have been mentioned.
971283 tn?1247771172 I started dieting ... low carbs, low sugar, mostly veggies but use whey protein bars AND whey protein powder for my high protein diet. I find that I am putting on weight and the pain in the finger joints is quite bad right now. What did you do to reverse this ? Should I just stop this protein intake ?
1840891 tn?1431551393 how can we devise ways of getting more oxygen to our extremities if we have peripheral neuropathy) Many people w/ neuropathy have diabetic/ pre diabetic insulin/ blood sugar issues. So we may have to look at diet as well as supplements. Part of my point is that we also have to look beyond mere supplements. I was at a gathering where I met heppers, some untreated. Some on treatment, some SVR. I was surprised to see how many smoked. IMHO....we have to do as many things as we can....
Avatar f tn Yes, many people have Stage 2 fibrosis, after 20 yrs of Hep C, and my liver enzymes just recently jumped up, and my platelets started sliding below normal range. People whose platelets are TOO low, are often times unable to Treat. Of course I am going into Treatment at Stage 2 (and who knows, my biopsy could be a stage off, I could have been at Stage 3!) It's articles like the above one, that make it very difficult to educate my father, on why I am choosing to Treat my Hep C!
789879 tn?1321330762 TO touch base on the hunger thing, I might suggest using a fruit other than the apple b/c apples have the most carbs of any of the fruit we can have, so that can trigger hunger. Also, for anyone like me who is hypoglycemic (low blood sugar), an apple can actually make the hunger worse and lower blood sugar (they often go hand in hand). This morning I am surprisingly starving and I believe it's because I didn't get enough protein yesterday b/c usually I am not so hungry.
Avatar m tn I believe my b12's are far to low and its very funny my folate is 3.4 which is very low too!
