is glipizide 10mg the same as glyburide 5mg / because my husband was drinking the gyburide and when we went for the new prescription it had changed to glipizide and he hasn't felt good since the change do i call his doctor

Hi, I recently went on glipizide after a very bad reaction to victoza. I was losing weight, but now the glipizide is keeping me at the same weight. Has anyone had the experience that is the same? and is there a lower does that anyone has still been able to lose weight with? and yes I'm on a low carb diet and excercise plan. I'm doing better with this than I did before and I lost 33 pounds. It's the glipizide.

This is what the pharmacist at Walmart told me when I went to go get my script filled for a higher dose. I have tried Mylan and Sandoz. and I liked Sandoz a lot better. Now I am using Watson...which is weird....I can at least visually see the medicine now but it leaves marks on my skin and my pain hasn't been controlled lately even with the increase. He's never been really honest with me about what they were exactly so I did a little bit of research about them on the web and found out that they are a type of hydrocodone. If it is a small yellow oval pill and is scored in the middle so it can be broken in half it could be Norco or Hydrocodone 10mg with Acetaminophen 325mg. Hydrocodone with Acet. is also known as Vicodin. That is what I take and I usually tell others it is Vicodin because most do not know what Norco is. It's just easier to say that instead of explaining all the different brand names of the products with Hydrocodone and Acet.

That happened to me with metformin and my doctor switched me to glipizide. Now my numbers are going in the right direction. I think you need to complain to your doctor and find what works for you.

I think if YOU like the name, then you should name your son whatever you want as long as he wont be teased when he's older. I like it, I think it's a nice name... I think it flows just fine!
