Avatar f tn Hi, I recently went on glipizide after a very bad reaction to victoza. I was losing weight, but now the glipizide is keeping me at the same weight. Has anyone had the experience that is the same? and is there a lower does that anyone has still been able to lose weight with? and yes I'm on a low carb diet and excercise plan. I'm doing better with this than I did before and I lost 33 pounds. It's the glipizide.
647391 tn?1275016633 "Do you take Glipizide once a day? " Yes, usually around 5-6am. I eat breakfast 30-45 minutes later. "If so, what is your blood sugars at the end of day." <120 mg/dl "I think the glipizide helps, but doesn't last the day." Don't rely on medications to do all the work for you. There there to 'help' you. Do you exercise and break sweat for 60 minutes daily? Are you at normal body weight? Are you eating a proper diabetic diet?
Avatar n tn I also take 500mg metformin after a meal(breakfast and dinner) and was advised to take 5mg glipizide before meals (breakfast and lunch) but sometimes I measure my bs before and notice it's sometimes 70-90 . A little about me: I don't eat at regular intervals, I don't snack , I have 3 meals a day . Wake up at 530 go to work, eat breakfast at 9 and then my lunch around 12 , dinner between 5-630. No snacks. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Avatar n tn In cardiac failure cases so called reversal of pattern of markings occur. There is increase in markings in midzones due to fluid overload. Actually this is not reversal. This is only increase in midzones. In chronic bronchitis markings are increased. In emphysema these are decreased in hyperinflated areas. In collapse of the lungs beyond the line-demarcating lung, these must be absent. Read more: http://wiki.answers.
4117735 tn?1349962369 Is it OK to double, or tipple, your medication? I take Glipizide 10 mg. The reason asked is that I have been monitoring my glucose and it has been between 200 - 300, and I would like to lower my readings.
2053416 tn?1330411192 I also take glipizide. The gulmetza does not seem to be working for me. My sugars are in the 200 + - range. Is there another generation 1 or 2 diabetes medicine that I can take with the glipizide that will work as good as the actos did and not cost so much? I would like to get off the glumetza. I am really thinking about asking the doctor to put me back on insulin (novolin R). Thank you for your input.
Avatar n tn I have elevated liver enzymes due to hepatic adenoma. Currently taking glipizide for high blood sugar, but is causing side effects. Weight gain, extreme low blood sugar, restless sleep. What can I take instead that will not affect the liver?
Avatar n tn am now taking glipizide 5 mg along with colestipol 1gr twice daily and gabapentin 300mg 3 times daily and my blood sugar levels are staying high. Avatar f tn I recently went to the doctor during a bad viral infection which was not getting better. He did a chest x-ray and told me I had pneumonia and that he would send my x rays to a radiologist for review (standard practice). I took the antibiotics and felt better. The Radiologist report came back reading as follows: "Lungs demonstrate prominence of interstitial markings bilaterally. This may be on the basis of chronic interstitial changes.

Avatar m tn I've been having progessively worsening back pain between the shoulder blades for over half a year now. I'm a 31 yr old non smoker (maybe 10 or so back in college). I've seen a nuerosurgeon who said the spinal MRI (Lumbar and Thorassic) looked fine. I'm doing physical therapy but the pain still persists and is getting worse.
Avatar f tn can the medication Glipizide for diabetes interfere with the orasure test results? can anyone seroconvert after 14 weeks?
Avatar m tn That happened to me with metformin and my doctor switched me to glipizide. Now my numbers are going in the right direction. I think you need to complain to your doctor and find what works for you.
Avatar n tn Not long after, I noticed a strange mark on my left arm. It is not a rash, it does not have bumps and it does not hurt. The markings start as faint but then gradually darken over a few weeks. I now have 8 of these markings on my left arm. I have checked everywhere else on my body for similar marks and they are only limited to my left arm. I am a bit mystified as to what this could be. Does anyone have a clue?
Avatar n tn I'm a novice when it comes to diabetes so I could use some help. I'm on 2.5mg of Glipizide and have been for about four years. My doctor discourages blood glucose testings -- says that's only necessary if I were on insulin. However, I will occasionally check my blood sugar -- maybe once or twice a month or if I'm not feeling well. I checked it on Sunday and found it was running somewhat high.
