I have elevated liver enzymes due to hepatic adenoma. Currently taking glipizide for high blood sugar, but is causing side effects. Weight gain, extreme low blood sugar, restless sleep. What can I take instead that will not affect the liver?

is glipizide 10mg the same as glyburide 5mg / because my husband was drinking the gyburide and when we went for the new prescription it had changed to glipizide and he hasn't felt good since the change do i call his doctor

Hi, I recently went on glipizide after a very bad reaction to victoza. I was losing weight, but now the glipizide is keeping me at the same weight. Has anyone had the experience that is the same? and is there a lower does that anyone has still been able to lose weight with? and yes I'm on a low carb diet and excercise plan. I'm doing better with this than I did before and I lost 33 pounds. It's the glipizide.

I also take 500mg metformin after a meal(breakfast and dinner) and was advised to take 5mg glipizide before meals (breakfast and lunch) but sometimes I measure my bs before and notice it's sometimes 70-90 . A little about me: I don't eat at regular intervals, I don't snack , I have 3 meals a day . Wake up at 530 go to work, eat breakfast at 9 and then my lunch around 12 , dinner between 5-630. i have problems lower my blood sugar. I take 2500mg metforman, 10mg glipizide per day. My morning blood sugar averages 146-162, mid-day average 110-113 and night average 138-168. I can't get morning levels down. At times my level drops at work and i have to find something sweet to bring blood sugar up. can anyone help me?

I'm a novice when it comes to diabetes so I could use some help. I'm on 2.5mg of Glipizide and have been for about four years. My doctor discourages blood glucose testings -- says that's only necessary if I were on insulin. However, I will occasionally check my blood sugar -- maybe once or twice a month or if I'm not feeling well. I checked it on Sunday and found it was running somewhat high.

I also take glipizide. The gulmetza does not seem to be working for me. My sugars are in the 200 + - range. Is there another generation 1 or 2 diabetes medicine that I can take with the glipizide that will work as good as the actos did and not cost so much? I would like to get off the glumetza. ve read in the forums that this arrythmia may be precipitated by excitement or episodic, whats up with that ? Also, where would I find information resources that has a little more meat to it than the usual stuff..

am now taking glipizide 5 mg along with colestipol 1gr twice daily and gabapentin 300mg 3 times daily and my blood sugar levels are staying high. First time on all these meds and my sugar levels were fine on lisonpril. Could one of thse being causing the high readings. My diet is the same if not lower in sugar and calories.

That happened to me with metformin and my doctor switched me to glipizide. Now my numbers are going in the right direction. I think you need to complain to your doctor and find what works for you.

actos, glipizide, insulin, nexium, simvistatin, seroquel, lamictil, prozac. cannot correlate with any particular food intake, change in blood sugar level, or other variables. occurs periodically; symptoms are transient. almost fainted on occasion symptoms occurring more often now. neck pain becoming more frequent. do have a very long history of chronic anemia. some of these symptoms have woken me up from sleep at different times in the night.

Hello.........you are not alone...I have been having effects of metformin and glipizide since May 27, 2015. I am going into the clinic tomorrow. My pharmacist said "oh there is a bug going around". This is clearly not a bug this is either the meds are in too warm of a temperature and not being as effective or I've got another kidney infection. Been up with abdominal pain, bloating, gas ..just can't get comfortable and my numbers are not coming down as fast as they were.

Last September I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I started taking Glipizide 5mg in the am along with meds for blood pressure. I also made major life style changes. I exercise an hour a day five days a week now. I eat extremely heathy. I lost 30 lbs. I'm sleeping again. I changed jobs. I take Metformin Extended Release 1000 mg two times a day and Glipizide 10mg two times a day. Still the numbers are almost same at 170 and sometimes crossing 200. I do moderate exercise. Any suggestions?
