Avatar f tn Eventually I went on 1000mg twice a day Janumet, and 2.5XL Glipizide, it worked for a while. I recently gained 8 lbs. but not sure it was the glipizide. On my second day of Victoza, so far ok. Interested to hear what kind of reaction you had to Victoza.
Avatar n tn I was on metformin and had no issures, than she switched mr to glipizide 5 mg for a week 1 daily and than after 1 week raise it to 2 daily, so that may be problem in it self.

647391 tn?1275016633 It is pretty common for me to have them. I was switched to glipizide a couple months ago. I wonder if it is the right med for me. I tried to go the website you recommended and did not have success getting there. Once thanks for the response.
Avatar n tn Gliclazide? Did you mean to say Glipizide? When writing names of medications it is important to spell them correctly as printed on the bottle/vile/container. Medication adjustments and/or changes only can be answered by your attending physician as he/she has access to your medical records/history to provide the correct evaluation, not strangers on Internet public health forums.
Avatar f tn Is Type 2 Diabetes reversible, and if it is how does one go about it.
4117735 tn?1349962369 Is it OK to double, or tipple, your medication? I take Glipizide 10 mg. The reason asked is that I have been monitoring my glucose and it has been between 200 - 300, and I would like to lower my readings.
Avatar f tn My cardio told me as far as my pacemaker works, it cover everything in my heart. My holter monitor showed my QTc 675 and they said "normal". I got a pacemaker and it is nothing to be worry about. I only on Glipizide 2.5mg (diabetes) twice a day while I had my holter on.
Avatar f tn t work for me and I was put on Glipizide. We are monitoring that for now to see if it is more successful in keeping the blood sugar in line. I have begun a structured exercise program at a gym, which should help tremendously in controlling the sugar level combined with a healthy diet. Hang in there and be sure to always consult your doctor before making any changes.
2053416 tn?1330411192 I also take glipizide. The gulmetza does not seem to be working for me. My sugars are in the 200 + - range. Is there another generation 1 or 2 diabetes medicine that I can take with the glipizide that will work as good as the actos did and not cost so much? I would like to get off the glumetza. I am really thinking about asking the doctor to put me back on insulin (novolin R). Thank you for your input.
Avatar m tn When I was first diagnosed as Diabetic, 2 Glipizide was the very first med I was given. It was not until I kept eating **** that I got the scrip for the Metformin. Being a Type 2 Diabetic is a pain in the Butt believe me but it can be controlled. Once again get a new doc, make sure that when you have the A1C test that you are fasting. Remember no matter what you eat it will eventually turn to sugar in your body so that you will have the energy your body needs.
4812794 tn?1359497146 Richard Bernstein as it explains well how to use insulin, and also alow carb diet to help reduce how much insulin you actually need.

I will take it and let everyone know. I hope it works. It could save a lot of us from the pain! Check out the website:) www.withdrawal-ease.com!
Avatar n tn Glipizide is a drug that makes your pancreas put out more insulin so it can cause lows. It can also make your pancreas burn out faster. So do research this and consider stopping this drug (in coordination with your Dr.) Metformin does not have this effect. So you can ask your Dr. if metformin is safe to take. Alternative is insulin.
Avatar f tn I will have to go back and see if I can find that one. It was really interesting. Seems to be all upside down in the way it works as to the way you would think it did. I alwasys thought when stocks were way up, it was a good thing. I will have to see if I can find it or the link to it so ya all can have a look see.
Avatar n tn I checked it on Sunday and found it was running somewhat high. Just for the heck of it, I checked it when I went to bed and it was 336 around 10 p.m. I happened to wake up at 3 a.m. to use the restroom and thought I would check it again since it was kind of high when I went to bed. I expected to see a substantial drop in number (is that correct)? It was 317. I checked a couple of times throughout the day yesterday and it continued to run somewhat high. At 10 p.m.
Avatar n tn ve learned to eat a vegetable broth soup with a dribbled egg, for 2-3 days to help bring my sugars down. Yes, it works. Talk to your Dr and see if there's options to permitted 'doseage' you're allowed. He may offer a new amount.
Avatar f tn I have been on 2500 mg of Metformin for 13 years now due to being insulin resistant BC of Polycystic ovarian syndrome. Have been on several other medications for insulin resistance that did not work. The Metformin doesn't really work but works better than anything else I've ever been on. My sugar still runs 200 after fasting for 12 hours. Are there any tests that can be done to tell if you really need insulin?
