glipizide is in the Sulfonylurea class of drugs. Sulfonylurea drugs work by forcing the pancreas to make more insulin, insulin lowers BG. So if you dont eat and continue to take glipizide you run the risk of getting hypos. I say the risk as it depends what your BG is and how much glipizide lowers your BG. If you are on glipizide you should have a BG test meter to check your BG. So test to see how your BG is doing.

I also take 500mg metformin after a meal(breakfast and dinner) and was advised to take 5mg glipizide before meals (breakfast and lunch) but sometimes I measure my bs before and notice it's sometimes 70-90 . A little about me: I don't eat at regular intervals, I don't snack , I have 3 meals a day . Wake up at 530 go to work, eat breakfast at 9 and then my lunch around 12 , dinner between 5-630. Due to a lot of weight gain. My doctor took me off actos and put me on glumetza. I also take glipizide. The gulmetza does not seem to be working for me. My sugars are in the 200 + - range. am now taking glipizide 5 mg along with colestipol 1gr twice daily and gabapentin 300mg 3 times daily and my blood sugar levels are staying high. First time on all these meds and my sugar levels were fine on lisonpril. Could one of thse being causing the high readings. My diet is the same if not lower in sugar and calories.

Thanks for the reply, But my concern is that duration of the actual play, that is intercourse. We do foreplay and cuddle and everything but when time comes to actuall intercourse, i am able to make 9 to 10 strokes and i am done. is it normal or it is very less. my wife conitnues with the motion and i just support her with my flacid pennis. is it normal, is it common in normal sexual experiace. pm. I dont think this med is taking care of my diabetetes, i ahe other high sugar levels at times, have swae\tinf spells, and i ahve checked it during these and my blood sugar isnt low. any sugestions out there. BY iam type 11 diabetic.

can the medication Glipizide for diabetes interfere with the orasure test results? can anyone seroconvert after 14 weeks?

That happened to me with metformin and my doctor switched me to glipizide. Now my numbers are going in the right direction. I think you need to complain to your doctor and find what works for you.

If one gets symptoms they come on 2-4 weeks after infection and last 1-2 weeks.
