I was recently diagnosed with congestive heart failure after a brief stay in the hospital (admitted from the ER with chest pains). I was given several tests, including an echocardiogram and a nuclear stress test.

is glipizide 10mg the same as glyburide 5mg / because my husband was drinking the gyburide and when we went for the new prescription it had changed to glipizide and he hasn't felt good since the change do i call his doctor

Hi, I recently went on glipizide after a very bad reaction to victoza. I was losing weight, but now the glipizide is keeping me at the same weight. Has anyone had the experience that is the same? and is there a lower does that anyone has still been able to lose weight with? and yes I'm on a low carb diet and excercise plan. I'm doing better with this than I did before and I lost 33 pounds. It's the glipizide.

A little about me: I don't eat at regular intervals, I don't snack , I have 3 meals a day . Wake up at 530 go to work, eat breakfast at 9 and then my lunch around 12 , dinner between 5-630. Is it OK to double, or tipple, your medication? I take Glipizide 10 mg. The reason asked is that I have been monitoring my glucose and it has been between 200 - 300, and I would like to lower my readings.

Hello I have a question, I have been diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy, Atrial Fib (AF), Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)and an Enlarged Heart back in 1998. at that time my (EF) Ejection fraction was well over 60%. I went to my Doctor the other day and found out that my (EF) is at 30 - 40% from a EKG/Echo cardiogram report that dated back to 07/19/2005 now three years have gone by and now I'm worried.

I also take glipizide. The gulmetza does not seem to be working for me. My sugars are in the 200 + - range. Is there another generation 1 or 2 diabetes medicine that I can take with the glipizide that will work as good as the actos did and not cost so much? I would like to get off the glumetza. I am really thinking about asking the doctor to put me back on insulin (novolin R). Thank you for your input.

I have elevated liver enzymes due to hepatic adenoma. Currently taking glipizide for high blood sugar, but is causing side effects. Weight gain, extreme low blood sugar, restless sleep. What can I take instead that will not affect the liver?

am now taking glipizide 5 mg along with colestipol 1gr twice daily and gabapentin 300mg 3 times daily and my blood sugar levels are staying high. Dehydration can cause lethargy. Lethargy is generally not a symptom of CHF. CHF is most often the result of cardiomyopathy where the heart is unable to pump enough blood to tissues. That in turn can cause fluid retention around the heart and lungs. Excessive or prolonged sub-q fluids for a cat that already has CHF as a pre-existing condition could worsen the CHF, but it would not cause it. CHF cannot be diagnosed from an X-ray alone.

People aren't in CHF 24/7 ; they have periods where they go into CHF; there are times when a patient who has been diagnosed with CHF may be doing well.

As a Telemetry RN in an acute care facility, I see frequent admissions and then subsequent readmissions (over and over) for exacerbation of CHF. Our hospital has core measures that we follow on every CHF patient in order to ensure an Echo has been done within the past 6 mos and if warrented a Rx for an ACE inhibitor. Despite this (along with tons of patient education) the readmsissions for CHF patients keep us busy.

Hello. i have a problem. i belive i could have chf. the problem is after 6 er visits and countles doctors visits. my diagnosis is still unknown. my symptoms are. shorness of breath, a simple walk around the store i almost passout with a pounding heart like i joged the whole time. if i stand in about 10 mins. the top of my head goes numb. if i lay down my feet go numb. i also have chest pains. i have costochondritis witch makes these chest pains hard to tell if its cardiac or the costo.
