is glipizide 10mg the same as glyburide 5mg / because my husband was drinking the gyburide and when we went for the new prescription it had changed to glipizide and he hasn't felt good since the change do i call his doctor

Hi, I recently went on glipizide after a very bad reaction to victoza. I was losing weight, but now the glipizide is keeping me at the same weight. Has anyone had the experience that is the same? and is there a lower does that anyone has still been able to lose weight with? and yes I'm on a low carb diet and excercise plan. I'm doing better with this than I did before and I lost 33 pounds. It's the glipizide.

Atorvastatin is supposed to be one of the two most effective statins in lowing cholesterol so you are on a good one. Bioavailability is how well a med is absorbed and used by the body and bioavailability varies among the statins. It's actually a desired thing. The liver is the target organ so if it is slowed down in the liver (where this happens), it's in the target organ. But honestly, that is hard for me to understand.

am now taking glipizide 5 mg along with colestipol 1gr twice daily and gabapentin 300mg 3 times daily and my blood sugar levels are staying high. That happened to me with metformin and my doctor switched me to glipizide. Now my numbers are going in the right direction. I think you need to complain to your doctor and find what works for you.

Also best not to take drugs with lots of fiber as they can bind to the fiber and pass through the system before total absorption thus decreasing bioavailability. You need all the bioavailability you can get!.

Hello.........you are not alone...I have been having effects of metformin and glipizide since May 27, 2015. I am going into the clinic tomorrow. My pharmacist said "oh there is a bug going around". This is clearly not a bug this is either the meds are in too warm of a temperature and not being as effective or I've got another kidney infection. Been up with abdominal pain, bloating, gas ..just can't get comfortable and my numbers are not coming down as fast as they were.

Last September I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I started taking Glipizide 5mg in the am along with meds for blood pressure. I also made major life style changes. I exercise an hour a day five days a week now. I eat extremely heathy. I lost 30 lbs. I'm sleeping again. I changed jobs. I'm still very overweight, but all my numbers are now in the normal range or close to it.
