After two weeks on 400mlg gleevec my WBC droped from 36.5 to 7.1. My doctor told to come for additional test in two weeks. Now my WBC is 1.3 and absolute neutrophils count is 0.04. I was told to stay home on antibiotics. How long it may take for my counts to clime back to safe range. And of course, I'm off gleevec right now. Does it seem that dose of 400mlg is too high for me.
I was diagnosed last year and was immediatley put on gleevec 400mg/day.At my last consult my metabolic stats had risen,hence blood tests to determine if the gleevec is no longer working.I am still in firstphase and wonder what my options are if the gleevec is no longer an option.Amin pretty good form,just very tired and a lot of bone pain.
The usual thing to try is to be sure you eat a full meal before taking your medication. Some people take it with their dinner at night. Also, what dose is he on? I am on the 400mg. capsule, and I take mine every morning with all my other medications, but first I make sure I eat a good breakfast.
The other thing he can do is if the tablet or capsule is scored in the middle, he can split it in 2, and take one half in the morning with breakfast, and the other half after dinner.
Hi, I don't know the answer -- but since both CML and Gleevec toxicity produce anemia because of marrow suppression, maybe it's not possible to tell the difference. E.g., both would show a low reticulocyte count.
This full text paper on anemia from Gleevec https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/ajh.23879 shows that other signs such as red blood cell size can vary, so that doesn't seem to help. Sorry.
I was diagnosed with CML and given Gleevec 400 ml. After taking gleevec for 2 weeks doctor took additional blood test. My WBC dropped from 36.5 to 7.1 and all other blood counts came down to normal range. I'm wondering if gleevec could give such fast hematological response or I was possibly misdiagnosed originally. I don't and didn't have any symptoms, my spleen and liver weren't enlarged, no enlarged lymph. Should I get second opinion asap? Please, help me.
I have CML and was treated with Gleevec for 4 years and achieved remission. I have for the past several months been experiencing sudden onset of weakness which last for hours, to days. My blood pressure which has remained under control for several years with atenolol has been running 145/105 and higher for the past three to four months. I have a feeling of fullness in my stomach, and I have sporatic episodes of mild coughing, this occurs maybe once a week.

with oral sex if you could clairfy that. The acyclovir was prescribe as 400mg three times a day for five days and then I was told I can take a half a tab prophylaxis.
If you are not able to access one, you can as well give the medicine at the rate of 40mg/kg body weight i.e. it comes to around 400mg 8th hourly. You can give 3/4 of the tab once in 8 hours which is a safe dosage. But I still recommend you to go for the house hold remedy, encourage him to drink plenty of warm water, warm salt water gargles. Also you can give pain killers (such as Acetaminophen) if any. See a doctor at the earliest.
He has kept me on the anti-viral med as a preventive because I have a number of other serious health issues and a weak immune system. The medication is Zovirax (Acyclovir tab, 400mg). I take one tab twice a day. If this sounds like what you are experiencing I suggest you talk to your doctor. He/she may not agree with the diagnosis, but may be willing to try. Good luck.
Hello I am 8 days clean of tramadol taking 400Mg a day too. but mine where fast acting trams. Just to let you know I was taking Gabapentin becuase I stopped CT.... It helped alot I didnt realize how much as I didnt take em till alittle later today and I was starting to feel like the withdrawals all over agian I took that med because of the siezure risk involved but everyone has there own way of doing it Im just letting you know its possible. Hang tight man this drug is bad news....
I asked to take FLUCONAZOLE 400mg tab once in a week for 8 weeks! and Doxycycline and Lactic acid bacillus capsules one a day for 30 days!! and an anti bacterial cream HH derm!! I continued this for a 15 days and just took 4 of fluconazole and i discontinued for 10 days!! then i started continuing the tablets!!
Will it be fine??? i dont experience much burning sensation now a days! when i apply that cream i get little burning sensation it means is it curing??
as each day progresses it seems the symptoms become more pronounced. i was put on 400mg of this drug on 1/3/08 after i had brain surgery and been having seizures, i have not had any siezures at this time. is this normal? my neurologist began cutting me back on monday by 100mg every two weeks. help!!!
i get my heart checked every 2 weeks now and i am fine with the qt thing. i take the chemo pill called gleevec and have to force myself to eat so i dont get sick when i take it. how long will these withdrawel problems go on? i have xanax to take (1mg) but dont work to good. i should would appreciate any advice from any one on how to deal with these issues, family dr says its anxiety but i think its the withdrawels from the high dose of elavil.
i was given several drugs which did not work. in any event on monday, i took 400mg suprax at 2pm. also was given azithromycin which i took two tablets on tuesday and then 1 a day. on thrusday i made a big mistake and feel guilty. i was drunk and had sex, with someone approximately 10pm. i still have minor symptoms but mostly gone at jsut a small amount of discharge. i am really hoping i did not give to my partner.
