Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?
When the night came i started having dull painful sharp pains in my upper middle stomach that will last for couple seconds n it would go away so ill just sleep on it, the pain came to sharp i couldn't go back to sleep, so i went to e.r n they did blood work n a ultrasound which came back normal. I was think gallbladder stones idk.. So doctor diagnose me with gastroenteritis prescribe me pain killers. N next morning with the dull pain that comes n goes. Ouch! Is it normal????
I went up there and took her to the doctor and she was basically told is was a stomach virus (gastroenteritis) drink plenty of fluids and it should go away in a couple of days but when I look up Gastroenteritis it says that it's common in people with weaken immune system caused by HIV.
She took her 3 month birth control shot the morning before but I'm sure that didn't cause Gastroenteritis. My question is should I be concerned about HIV at this point.

Without examination it is very difficult to confirm a diagnosis,but some of the possibilities for your symptoms are gastroenteritis and dehydration. Drink plenty of water as dehydration can lead to electrolyte imbalance which in turn can lead to low BP and hence dizziness.
Hypoglycemia, anemia,infections,endocrine disorders like thyroid, adrenal glands, and pituitary gland disorders can also lead to dizziness and nausea.What about your last menstrual periods.
My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. Yes the studies that amblyopia from birth or child hood has traditionally responded poorly to treatment in adults. Treatment much much more successful if started before age 7 The new studies were done on removing congenital cataracts not due to striabismus or aneisometrophia.
The new research does not suggest that treatment is highly successful just some better.
What is the main surgical treatment for adults with Moya Moya? I have been told that the least invasive treatment is to take the temporalis muscle and (in my case) relocate it to the frontal lobes so it will augment the collateral vasculature already in existence?
Is there a facility that you might be aware of that gets more moya moya patients than not or is known for moya moya treatment?

On day 7 of a severe case of gastroenteritis. Everything seems to have calmed down, but once I try and eat anything stomach cramps start, which are unbearable. Sometimes followed by diarrhoea. Is this normal after a severe case of gastroenteritis or do I need to see my G.P again?

Hi. I have had sharp pains in my left side for a week. The pain is specifically on my left side, below the ribs, between the last rib and the hip bone. Right there in the fleshy area of the lower abdomen and going downwards towards the hip. But its specifically on my side, not my back or tummy. Its been a week since symptoms started. Symptoms include a constant achy feeling in the area, sharp pains in the area when i lay down or move positions or laugh or cough. I went to the doc after 5 days.
When I was around 8 I was diagnosed with this, usually I was vomiting or had diarrhea almost every day for a long time. It seemed to stop, but I always still had diarrhea where most people would have regular bowel movements.
It worries me that this condition could be coming back in force.
they had no effect i then left for madrid,spain for about a week when i returned and went to the emergency room i was vomitingdown to bile and allthough i had been constipated for the whole trip in spain i suddenly started having water like bowel movements. when i went to the emergency room they first gave me an x-ray and said my pancreas was swolen then they gave me a contrast ct-scan in wich the said my boweld were swolen they diagnosed me with collitis. when i went and saw a gastro.
OK. It is not causing any problems as of now.
day 4 I had a gastroenteritis, all my family had the same symptoms in the same time for 1.5 days(all specific symptoms to Gastroenteritis fever, vomiting, diarrhea for one day and fading down the last half day- maybe a norovirus) .
>Day 7 i had the blood tests done - elevated transaminase levels.
> week 3 conjunctivitis,
> week 5.5 headache and fever up to 102 for less than a day. Next day i had a cold sore that healed in 1 week.
> week 5.5 until week 6.
