gastroenteritis

Avatar n tn ve learned during this process that my fears are from early on. Practitioners and those of you who work with in HIV seem very confident in risk being virtually non existent but the internet which I've heard can be misleading is not so reassuring and the information obtained can be quite unsettling. Thank you so much for your response. You are doing a great job and a great service. keep up the the great work!
535089 tn?1400673519 Hi to all. I was recently Hospitalized with Gastroenteritis/Colitis and was wondering if anyone could give me some options for a good food regiment (liquid diet) that would help calm the intestines. I have had a recent infection including Colitis, Gastroenteritis (sp). I would also like to know what the best OTC antacid might be to calm the tummy. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn Did your period come when you expected it? Was it early or late? This could simply be a gastroenteritis (stomach virus). I would give it some more time and see if your symptoms subside. IF your next period is late or abnormal, you may want to retake the pregnancy test just to be sure. You could also go see your regular doctor. IN the meantime, try sticking to a bland diet- toast, crackers, water, soup until your stomach settles a bit. Good luck.

Avatar n tn My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. She began to have watery diarrhea and vomit. I took her to the doctor and they said she had gastroenteritis, but it's been a while now and she is still the same? Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Thank you.

Avatar n tn Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?
Avatar n tn I had to go home in the early afternoon and didnt wake up till the following morning. That following day I experienced bad cramping in my stomach and more nausea, along with that I had lost my appettite, and still my headache was present. Today Im experiencing strong pressure on my temples, blurry vision, dizziness, and a strained feeling on my eyes....I feel horrible. Can someone tell me if I've had some sort of bad reaction to these pills or should I really see a doctor?

Avatar n tn Gastroenteritis can be produced from viral, bacterial and parasitic infections, contaminated food or water or change in bacteria that normally live in the intestinal tract.Chest pain that you are having is due to radiation of pain. Take adequate fluids throughout the day. The BRAT diet (ie, bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) or soft easily digestible semisolid diet can also be taken. You also need a course of antibiotics like ciprofloxacin or metronidazole. Hope it helps.

Avatar n tn Well certain viral infections can cause hemolyzed blood in urine. Check again in a day or two. If this persists then go back to your doctor. UTI and stone are the commonest cause. Cancers of urinary system or some drugs too cause blood in urine. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn On day 7 of a severe case of gastroenteritis. Everything seems to have calmed down, but once I try and eat anything stomach cramps start, which are unbearable. Sometimes followed by diarrhoea. Is this normal after a severe case of gastroenteritis or do I need to see my G.P again?

Avatar m tn I was wondering if anyone out there was also diagnosed with this at any point in their life? I recently went to the ER because I became violently ill, and didn't put the pieces together until now. When I was around 8 I was diagnosed with this, usually I was vomiting or had diarrhea almost every day for a long time. It seemed to stop, but I always still had diarrhea where most people would have regular bowel movements. It worries me that this condition could be coming back in force.
1872406 tn?1320890391 We rescued a little kitten approx 6 weeks old who has been diagnosed with viral gastroenteritis. The prognosis by the vet is poor and I'm wondering if there is anything else we can do other than keep her hydrated and treat/prevent secondary infections. Please help- really appreciate any advice or past experience that you may have... Thanks in advance...
Avatar f tn hi. I just wanted to ask what you think are the possibilities that I'm pregnant. I had protected sex with my boyfriend a day after the last day of my period. I usually have my period for 6-7 days but the last one was only 5 days long and my cycle switches from 23-28 days for the past year. I don't take pills because we don't always have sex (we always use protection and we don't live together).
Avatar m tn Hello, doctors. I'm a young, sexually active gay male. From time to time I meet a man from the Internet and engage in safer sex practices like fellatio (mostly with me performing it) and mutual masturbation. I never engage in anal sex with these men, and I always, always ask about HIV status. My last test was two months ago and the result was negative. So, normally, I'm not very worried about HIV. However, I have a concern that I hope you can address.
Avatar n tn Since Feleuk can cause problems anywhere in the body, the symptoms would depend upon where the disease is located. For example in the gastroenteritis form, anywhere from the mouth to the anus can be effected. There could be mouth problems such as stomatitis, chronic periodontal disease, in addition to vomiting and diarrhea. In the polyarthritis, immunosuppressive form, a cat could have lameness, joint swelling and pain.
Avatar m tn I also have had a loss in appetite, increased gas, very painful bowel movements, and occasional cramps. A constant urge to urinate or bowel movement. Its all occurred over 4 to 5 days.
