Avatar m tn Definitely talk to your pain Dr about this. He/she needs to know the medication is not helping much at all. Yes, you may get more relief with an increase or you may have to try another medication. How often are you taking your meds? That's another thing to talk to your Dr about. If you're taking them say every 6 hours you may need to take them every 4 hours. If your Dr decides to increase the mgs of your meds they will most likely do it slowly, maybe 5 mgs at a time.
Avatar n tn TSH in Oct before the issue started was 1.34 (137mcg synthroid). TSH end of Oct (after an ER visit becuase of my symptoms) was 0.8. Endo dropped my dosage to 125mcg. Improved slightly over the next two months and even stopped losing weight. Then in January of this year went to ER with same symptoms (wildly fluctuating high BP, sinus tachycardia, and anxiety/palps). Cardiologist put me on Beta B because my rapid HR and high blood pressure 140+/90+ was now sustained.
Avatar n tn I once took my night time met twice, (my normal nighttime does is 1000) anyways I called the hospital and spoke with the ER they called an MD and I was told to not worry about it.

Avatar f tn I have been on metoprolol 25mg for two 1/2 years. Then my doctor put me on metoprolol er 50mg. I have been having shortness of breath and minor chest discomfort; i'm only 45 years old and i want off of this medication totally. Has anyone ever wean themselves off of this medication with no problems? If so, how did you do it? Any advise is helpful to me. Thank you.
Avatar m tn i thought it should be 400mg and take 2x daily for a total dose of 800mg? it was an ER doctor that gave it to me because i don't have health insurance and went to the county hospital. he said he never treated herpes before and i'm really grateful to get the acyclovir but i'm worried about my kidneys if the dose is too high?
1475202 tn?1536270977 Xanax has a very short half life, which may be why she opted for the ER. In my opinion, whether taking the ER or the non-ER xanax, if you take it daily you will become dependent on it, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Again, just my opinion. It sounds like the xanax is working well for you so far, I hope it continues to do so until you're ready to taper off of it. Well wishes to you...
Avatar f tn I take two in the morning and one with dinner. Remember, I had posted this is the highest dosage my LLMD wanted to try based on my size and weight. Ever since then, my heart is RACING. Again, remember that my LLMD thinks the Lyme is affecting my heart as my resting heart rate was 90 beats per minute, too high according to him. I think it's the doxy since I never had heart problems until I started it.
Avatar n tn These symtpoms have been on and off since last November (07). Since then my synthyroid dosage has been dropped from 137mcg/day to 100mcg (5 times a week). I still can not put back on the weight and recently began experiencing the racing heart (usually in the morning) - worse when climbing the stairs to work. It's not as bad as it has been before the drop in synthroid but it's still noticeable. TSH 0.
733588 tn?1242932059 Hello, Everyone I'm new here. I was diagnosed with BP 5 years ago. In those five years I've been on alot for different medications. Depakote ER worked the best. I was on it for three years or more. Now I'm on Stavzor which is working just as well. My question is for several month I've been back and forth to the doctor for another problem. I've become anemic and they can't find the source of the bleeding or the reason why I'm anemic.
Avatar n tn went to ER on Sunday because my fasting Bs was 404 They are confident that my BS is going to drop..I was taking hemalog 50/50 my new doctor feels it was wrong for me...at least i had lows...I haven''t seen a low since Nov. 7 the lowest I've seen was since starting lantus was 184..I've lost weight coming off that hemalog...I'm tired any advice..
Avatar n tn m no doctor but I have never heard of multi dosage of Metformin ER, as the ER stands for Extended Release, works for 24 hrs.Too much can cause dangerously low blood sugar [hypoglycemia]. It also depends on your doctor. If he/she Rx'd 1000mg in AM and 1000 mg in PM that is the dose to follow as he/she has knowledge of your medical history/records, not us or anyone on the Internet. Splitting and/or adjusting dosage without first discussing with your doctor is ill advised.
1445110 tn?1388209711 I recently was prescribed Opana ER was on methadone for two months and Norco for breakthrough pain. I had trouble tolerating the methadone. It made me feel horrible, couldnt function and didnt really help my back and hip pain. I am chicken to take the Opana. I need to get started on it and try it but I am so afraid of stronger pain meds. Anyone familiar with it and did it help with the pain without sedating you too much?
654183 tn?1225309036 But I now take four a day and my doctor is quite pleased at how I control the use of them because I have been on the two medications for close to 6 years now and I have not asked him for a dosage increase for about the last 3 years now and he has told me that he wished that all his patient could control the medications like I have done and where I live they are real strict on giving pain medications out every month I have to bring them into his office so he can count them and I get drug tested

620048 tn?1358018235 yes, cog as in cognitive, Galantamine (Nivalin, Razadyne, Razadyne ER, Reminyl) is used for the treatment of mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease and various other memory impairments, particularly those of vascular origin. i sure don't see this med listed by many on this forum for cog symptoms, do you?
Avatar f tn I am a 36 year old single mother of three. I have been on Effexor ER for close to 8 years. I like most people had been started on Effexor due to increasing depression, anxiety and mood swings following a hysterectomy with the removal of ovaries also. (also on HRT ) I was started on 35mg for a few days then it was upped to 75mg. Over the next year it was increased to 150mg.
541953 tn?1262586226 Hi, Iknow it has been a few years since your post, i was wondering how you are doing on the Opana ER. I am switching from Opana 30 mg ER to Morphine 60 mg ER.The Opana gave me side effects, dizziness, being in withdrawl if I missed a dose, and it did not help my chronic pain.. I have tried many ER drugs and I am having a hard time finding many of them. Plus my breakthrough meds are also hard to find.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am currently on an increasing dosage of topamax for suspected seizures - although the seizures are very mild and random. I am not the type of person who likes to take medication and I have had a read on a couple of different forums about topamax and there seems to be a lot of negativity surrounding the drug with some pretty scary side effects. Can anyone enlighten me with some success stories?? Thanks, from New Zealand!
760070 tn?1234470413 Sorry you haven't gotten an responses. It may be the "taurine" part, I've never heard of it before you post, it seems to be uncommon. Happy to read your AFib is responding to Flecainide, this encourages me to try it. I was reluctant, and remain so, to go into the hospital to start taking it. Maybe I can persuade my cardio doc to let me start at home on a low dose and build it up to the full dose if I handle it well.
Avatar f tn UND @ 6 weeks of 24 weeks. Horrible sides ! Anyone know if dosage reduction would be a a possibility? Thank you for your time.
Avatar m tn Hi I take 1 20mg opana er per day I'm prescribed 3 a day but never take 3, maybe 2 if I'm having a really bad pain day but that is usually 1 or 2 days per month. I would like to come totally off it to see if I can manage my pain in more natural ways. Being that I that so little will WD be bad, should I just go cold turkey or wean by putting more space between doses?
Avatar f tn t been the same since, that happened after about 7 weeks on a new dosage, so I attributed that to my new dosage, I have decided to lower my synthroid to a dosage I felt good at. (with docs approval). I don't know what to tell you other than my experience. I hate this drug, I would almost rather not be on anything.
Avatar f tn I've successfully taken Ziac 10/6.25 Bisoprolol/HCTZ for several years. Due to Sythroid/thyroid meds I now need larger bp doses due to escalating pulse and blood pressure from it. The doctor said I had to switch from Ziac brand since 10 mg is the maximum Ziac pill size. The doc put me on 40 mg Propranolol and it didn't stop the high bp issue and I ended up in the hospital ER with 171/125 and 123 pulse readings.
Avatar m tn Prednisone is known to raise glucose levels, the dosage amount also plays a large role. I disagree with the ER part because you didn't tell us if you are taking insulin, if this was one time reading or multiple readings. A one time reading does not warrant a trip or call to ER. It does, however, in your best interest, warrant a call to your doctor to see if your medication requires adjustment. Good luck.
