Avatar f tn I have been on Forteo daily injections for 1 year and I have experienced considerable joint pains which did not exist prior to treatment. My left hip and knee, my right knee and my hands have been getting worse each month. Has anyone else experienced similar reactions?
Avatar f tn I have severe osteoporosis and am trying to take Forteo. I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?
Avatar f tn As for myself, I am a patient suffering from severe osteoporosis. My doctor, realizing I cannot afford Forteo ($950 per month!), has suggested I try to find how I can take the equivalent, generic version, which is Bonista. Please, if anyone can tell me how to get ahold of this medication, any address, emails of sellers, etc! I would be so grateful! This discussion is related to Bonista-side effects.
908504 tn?1269103899 He also wanted me to try the injections of Forteo but my Aunt had bone cancer in her hips so I am somewhat leary of that drug. Any info will be greatly appreciated as I am in really bad pain.
Avatar m tn Most of the times, they are not related to any underlying disorder but needs checking out with a doctor to assess that your leg circulation and nerve supply are working appropriately. Meanwhile, I would suggest eat a diet rich in fruit and vegetables, vitamin E & zinc supplement, drink at least eight glasses of water in a day and avoid smoking. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Hi-- When you say Medicare, I assume it is Medicare Part D, administered by an insurance company like Blue Cross, etc? If so, you might be in for sticker shock. I had a similar experience w/ Forteo, via Part D, they wanted $5K for 3 months. I went directly to Lilly, and qualified for pro bono meds for 2 years, the limit of tx on Forteo. My understanding is patients with cirrhosis get priority. Other Gilead experienced persons, and there are a few here, can tell you more.
Avatar n tn m worried that he has already shown himself to be unsympathetic to my pain, and will that mean he will leave me in pain following this next surgery? What are my options?
Nicelady Medications themselves can be classified as antiresorptive or bone anabolic agents. Teriparatide (Forteo) is also approved for the treatment of postmenopausal women who have severe osteoporosis and are considered at high risk for fractures. The medicine is given through daily shots underneath the skin and you can give these shots even at home. Another advantage is that it can be given in patients who cannot tolerate oral biphosphonate drugs.
Avatar n tn When standing after a long period of time sitting I experience symptoms beginning with pressure and pain to the center of my forehead. The pressure generates into my sinus and ears, making my ears pop as if in a plane. My vision becomes blurry and my legs feel as if they are going to collaspe from up under me. I have actually had to crawl on several occasions as my legs would not support me. This has been a consistant problem for about two months. It may occur 1-5 times a week.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the answer to my question, I just had knee surgery one week ago today, and was experiencing painful leg pain. I have a history of blood clots in my legs, the pain in which I am feeling is much like what I felt when I has the blood clot in the pass. I was sent to have a venous dopper test done if it was determined that I had a cyst in the vein in the back of my knee. Just did not know if this was something serious or what I should do about treatment for this problem.
1936550 tn?1348360208 All I had with my son was restless leg syndrome. With my girl I had extreme back pain, now this. My question is what could be causing this? Im scared I might get them again tonight.
Avatar f tn Has anyone else experience leg pains during labor?
Avatar f tn Earlier I had this extremely bad pain in my leg, I have never felt something like it. I have a sciatica nerve but this was nothing like it and I also were having contractions everytime I felt the pain in my leg! Anyone know what it could be? I dont feel it anymore at least for right now. I have an appointment tomorrow gonna talk to my doctor about it. And also anything I can do for the pain!? 38 + 4 weeks.
Avatar f tn Hi! I went to the doctor Monday, we are still waiting on the results from the culture he did but he is pretty positive I have genital herpes. I'm having some pretty weird leg pain it pretty much feels like my legs are sunburned my skin all over my legs is very tender. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it related to gh?
Avatar f tn Omg, 2nd night i woke up with a charlie horse, 1st it was in my calf and tonight around my leg above my ankle. The pain is so bad i woke up moaning and groaning in tears, is this normal?
Avatar f tn It could also be sciatica. Which can go down your leg. Hurts like crazy sometimes.
Avatar m tn It sounds like you might have a tailbone injury and are getting some referred pain (the pain can turn into sciatica and move somewhere where the injury is not). I currently have the same injury and it's weird how the pain can spread to random places like sometimes down my leg, in my hips, in the lower back, etc.
Avatar f tn m a first time mom so I was just wondering if my leg pain is normal.. It feels like I went running for 6 hours straight. It feels as if I need to stretch them because they're super super sore.
