Do I have to be sympomatic to qualify? It's pretty frustrating knowing that there is now an easy cure, that I can't get. So I'm hoping the cost will come down soon, or Medicare will be more generous than my insurance!
My doctor told me that I have Osteoporosis and wants me to try Forteo an injection for two years. Has anyone tried this drug and what were your side effects, if any. I don't want to make my stomach problems worse than there already are.
I have been on Forteo daily injections for 1 year and I have experienced considerable joint pains which did not exist prior to treatment. My left hip and knee, my right knee and my hands have been getting worse each month. Has anyone else experienced similar reactions?
Just was informed that I have osteoporosis. My doctor wants me to use Forteo, an injection that you use for two years.
I have severe osteoporosis and am trying to take Forteo. I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?
As for myself, I am a patient suffering from severe osteoporosis. My doctor, realizing I cannot afford Forteo ($950 per month!), has suggested I try to find how I can take the equivalent, generic version, which is Bonista.
Please, if anyone can tell me how to get ahold of this medication, any address, emails of sellers, etc! I would be so grateful!

From your answers, I can say that you probably 1. have no fat malabsorption 2. no liver disease 3. no gallbladder disease 4. no new allergy, but you obviously have allergy to fish.
5. Burning after throwing up is from the gastric acid.

hello again, thanks to all the people that responded. was wondering about the cost of meds. interferon and ribavirin, im checking with my ins. to see what they will cover. i may have misspoke about this thing on hepititusccure.net i dont think it is herbal? it deals with fatty liver tissue. but its only 50 bucks to read about it so i dont really have anything to lose. going back to doc in 3 mo. not sure why till i decide on tx. if tx takes care of virus, do people go back to normal lifestyle?

Is it cheaper using a family or friend as a donor in comparison using an anonymous donor. Where I am living, it cost $16,500 for DE...IVF cost almost $20,000.

My guess is the cost doesn't translate directly from what we pay in the US or the UK to what it would be in Rupees and the Indian drug system. You have a different structure and the drug companies seem to charge less in places other than the US.
So don't get stressed at that INR number that Paula has translated. I find a source online that says in 2008 Avonex was Rs 9,000 per vial. Please call your Multiple Sclerosis Society of India (MSSI) and see what advice they can share.

I really wanna go to the hospital but I have no insurance. I met with my doctor. ( theey help with people who don't have insurance) next9 week and I don't want to wait, I want to see if my baby is alright. I will see if the clinic is open tomorrow . The difference between the full cost of a treatment (which the uninsured often are charged), and the amount the insurance company tells them they will pay is often quite a bit. If you have cash and offer to pay up front (for a discount) you may get charged less than what they can get out of the insurance company, because it's less hassle and instant money for them.
Just a thought, even if you had to borrow the money.
