Common Questions and Answers about Fluconazole tb

Avatar f tn Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.
Avatar f tn my dr gave me fluconazole for my infection ,3 pills in 3 days .should we skip or take it regular.because she told me take it wednesday ,thursday ,and sunday,,thank..
Avatar m tn I know it must be upsetting and frustrating. Not having a good doctor who can give you an answer to what is going on. But I think you have your answer. You don't have HIV. You have (had) TB. Your CD4 number is in the normal range. You have had negative HIV tests. An OI occurs because CD4 is low -- well below 500. So, it doesn't make sense that you have been told you have immune problems. Sounds like she might have had TB and you caught it.
Avatar m tn Anyone ever take fluconazole 150mg oral pill for a yeast infection in their first trimester. I phoned a pharmacist and he said it was fine and all the research I've done says as long as it's not in high doses the baby should be ok, but I am having some major anxiety.
Avatar f tn Sure, it is safe to take. I personally like the one day Monostat ovules for yeast infections but fluconazole works really great. Hope it clears it up quickly!
Avatar f tn I've taken Clindamycin and fluconazole to kill a yeast infection. But now my doctor tells me I might possibly get it back because antibiotics can cause yeast infections. I'm not even sure...
Avatar n tn TB is TB. HIV is HIV. If you both have tested negative after 3 months from your last unprotected sex then you don't have HIV. Yes the ELISA will pick of Group M.
Avatar f tn Based off the symptoms I was having they told me that I had a yeast infection-(I had one about three months ago). They prescribed me fluconazole. I took it and felt better, but went back into my gynecologist for a follow up on Thursday(my symptoms were almost completely gone at this point.) They took a swab and said it the results said no it wasn’t a yeast infection, but she said yes she was sure I had had one. I took she told me to take the second dose of fluconazole, which I did that day.
Avatar f tn but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???
Avatar f tn So I just found out that my fiancé's sister has TB... And I visited with her in December. She had it then and was not on medication as she refuses to take her medicine in general. Do I need to be screened for TB? I haven't had any contact with her face to face since December, but she does still have TB. Is this something I need to be concerned with? I'm worried and the last time I had a TB skin test was Fall of 2013 and it was negative then.
411101 tn?1202275586 A skin test was done and it was very positive (20 mm +), however I do not sweat or show other symptoms beside a chronic cough and shortness of breath (so they don’t think its active TB….active TB would show those symptoms with weight loss etc etc). Due to my age (26), non-smoker and pretty healthy, they are thinking latent TB for the time being, but more tests will need to get done. I am also very nervous. Hope its latent TB and not lung cancer.
Avatar f tn We now have someone who has had to have a TB test for another job she has and she wants to know if she can be around the person with TB without jeopardizing that person? In other words, will her TB test effect the TB person?
Avatar n tn How long treatment for female genital TB( endometrial TB) should be continued? How to confirm whether the TB has been cured fully after ATT?
Avatar m tn Does not work in many, fluconazole. Your doc may put you on terbinafine, or griseofulvin for best results.
Avatar n tn He is Rxing fluconazole for 6 weeks, one tab a day, 100mg. Is this safe? I am healthy for the most part, 40 yr old female with Hashimoto's. My main symptom is chronic stomach bloating. He is doing an ultrsound and x-ray of abdomen as well but wanted to get advice on this long term use of fluconazole. Thank you for your time.
Avatar n tn t mean you have TB, but at some point in your life you have been exposed to TB. Usually, a positive TB test is followed up with a chest X-Ray to confirm that you do not have TB. Being exposed to TB does not prevent you from working with the elderly, but having TB would. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn It spread rapidly from my torso to my arms and legs, and my neck. I went to see a doctor, who prescribed Fluconazole (150mg, 1 capsule a week for 4 weeks). After a few days the lesions on my stomach began to fade, so I felt I was getting better. I have just taken my third Fluconazole pill. The bad news is that although some parts of my body are definitely better, new ringworm has appeared on my face in the last few days. What should I do? I'm hoping to see the doctor again soon.
Avatar n tn I have swollen gland (big size)left below my ear, so many small glands left side of the neck, at the time of starting it is painful after that without swollen remains. My doctor diagnosed this is a TB. but the same time Toxoplasma & antinuclear antibody is positive. Now i am started taking medicine fot TB. my doubt isafter compleating anti tuberculosis medicine these glands will go off!!! I am a Hypothyroid patient... If any one have any comment on this PLEASE ...
Avatar n tn Hi and sorry that your question wasn't answered earlier. You can be exposed to the bacteria that causes TB and not get sick for years until you get low immunity then it can possibly turn into TB. So if you think you were exposed you can get a TB test. The best one is the quantiferon gold test. An Xray can also tell if you have any walling off of TB cells but it won't tell if you had active TB.
Avatar m tn Can a course of antibiotics actually completely kill the latent bacteria in the body, how does one know that latent tb is eradicated from the body, if that is possible at all. A researcher told me that tb cannot be eradicated from the body and as of today one can only prevent or cure active tb but after the cure of active tb one goes back in being a latent tb carrier. Could you tell what is really true here? Thank you very much.
