Based off the symptoms I was having they told me that I had a yeast infection-(I had one about three months ago). They prescribed me fluconazole. I took it and felt better, but went back into my gynecologist for a follow up on Thursday(my symptoms were almost completely gone at this point.) They took a swab and said it the results said no it wasn’t a yeast infection, but she said yes she was sure I had had one. I took she told me to take the second dose of fluconazole, which I did that day.
Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.

I was recently tested for all STDs because I have been having a recurring yeast infection since last November. I have been taking fluconazole on and off since. This last infection was really severe and it started on a Sunday. I made a doctor appt for that following Wednesday where I was tested. My results came back positive for a yeast infection and negative for everything else...except the herpes blood test. My result was <0.90.
I have a red and itchy vagina and I have some white discharge that smells yeast-y. I also have bumps that are fleshed colored and appear to be under the skin. These symptoms have been occurring for some time now and I've been tested for std's and they turned out negative. And my pap smears came up normal. I'm currently being treated with fluconazole (oral). Do I have an infection or disease? How do I get rid of these bumps? Are they related to a yeast infection?
After 2 weeks I developed candidiasis on penis. Doc prescribed fluconazole for 10 days. On 12th day it reappeared. Doc told me to continue fluconazole for more 5 days. After finishing 15 days course I developed myalgia. I tested For Hiv 1 & 2 antibodies in the 5th week. Then I did p24 ag/ab in 6th week. 8th week I again repeated the hiv 1&2 antibody test. I repeated the p24 test again in the 10th week all tests were negative.
My blood cortisol level is high. My doctor ordered a 24 hour urine test. I am currently taking fluconazole tablets & miconozole cream for a yeast infection. Also, I used topical cortisone cream on my face yesterday. I plan to collect the urine tomorrow. Will any of this interfere with the results?

Anyone ever take fluconazole 150mg oral pill for a yeast infection in their first trimester. I phoned a pharmacist and he said it was fine and all the research I've done says as long as it's not in high doses the baby should be ok, but I am having some major anxiety.

Then last year November (2013), I had similar symptoms on my penis gland and under the foreskin. I got fluconazole from the doctor for the yeast infection, but it did not go away completely (It healed and came back several times). Both times, doctor asked me to use an antibiotic cream (mupirocin/bactroban). I used it since Nov. 2013 to Feb. 2014.

Sure, it is safe to take. I personally like the one day Monostat ovules for yeast infections but fluconazole works really great. Hope it clears it up quickly!
I've taken Clindamycin and fluconazole to kill a yeast infection. But now my doctor tells me I might possibly get it back because antibiotics can cause yeast infections. I'm not even sure...

When they appear it itches too much results in small cuts with small blood. i m very depressed. what should i do.. i don't know who should i see a skin or sex doctor.
but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???
Welcome to our Forum. On occasion we can provide insights which take our clients in a somewhat different direction than their own doctors are gpoing. In your case, even before you mentioned the advice you had received from your own doctors, I had come to a conclusion similar to theirs.
There are no STDs which cause symptoms within a day, or even two of exposure. On the other hand allergic reactions are famous for causing symptoms rapidly.
He is Rxing fluconazole for 6 weeks, one tab a day, 100mg. Is this safe? I am healthy for the most part, 40 yr old female with Hashimoto's. My main symptom is chronic stomach bloating. It spread rapidly from my torso to my arms and legs, and my neck. I went to see a doctor, who prescribed Fluconazole (150mg, 1 capsule a week for 4 weeks). After a few days the lesions on my stomach began to fade, so I felt I was getting better. I have just taken my third Fluconazole pill. The bad news is that although some parts of my body are definitely better, new ringworm has appeared on my face in the last few days.
What should I do? I'm hoping to see the doctor again soon.
I went to the doctors office, because I was experiencing a really bad itch in my vaginal region. Plus I had just gotten off my cycle and I noticed some bumps/legions/I don't know what to call it. I had experienced something like this before, but I didn't see a doctor about it. The doctor did a culture and took my blood. The culture came back as negative and my results were 1.10.
So, I've taken fluconazole when pregnant for yeast infections and it is commonly prescribed during pregnancy and has no pregnancy at the regular dose during the second trimester. During the first, at higher doses of 400 to 800 mg a day, you shouldn't take it but you should be fine now. Flagyl is pregnancy category B. That means it was not shown to affect a fetus in limited studies. It's also pretty commonly given during pregnancy.
This time I took fluconazole 150 mg that my doctor prescribed at the last visit. I even took a second dose 72 hours later and I am still having itching, redness, and soreness. I am scared now, I don't know why fluconazole isn't working (it worked for me in the past). What else can I use? I feel out of options, since fluconazole failed. It can't be bacterial, because discharge is white and odorless.
If one of the tests you had for HIV was a 4th generation DUO test done at 28 days post your last exposure, your results are conclusive.

Hello ladies I look the pill Fluconazole because I think I have a yeast infection my OB gave me two Fluconazole pills last month but I only need one and I just took the other one today. Now I'm scared because I don't know if I could take this pill this late in my pregnancy I'm 39 week now. Have anyone ever took this pill after 35 weeks?
